Children often show an interest in cooking at some point, and if they do, it’s a good idea to harness that passion in an optimised kitchen environment to encourage this all-important skill. We spoke to Joanne Bowskill, founder of Get Kids Cooking, about how to get kids involved in the kitchen.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF TEACHING KIDS ABOUT COOKING?

Enticing kids into the kitchen to cook not only means greater bonding with your children, but also a chance for them to learn an important life skill and have fun. In addition to the health benefits, learning to cook can also provide children with a measure of self-esteem and confidence. Kids who help prepare a meal are more likely to try new flavours and textures, and enjoy eating the finished product.
