WILDLIFE WATCH Sanderlings

SANDERLINGS breed in the high Arctic, with some individuals making incredible annual round trips of 32,000km between their breeding and wintering areas. In the UK, winter is the best time to photograph them. They are pale grey above, with white underparts, and have a short straight black bill and black legs.
