Poverty tourism
I thought John Vahgatsi's letter (AP 13 April) on poverty voyeurism was very thought-provoking, and I don't really disagree with him.
There is one point, however, which I think is worth making. It is surely the case that there is much more going on in the streets of countries with warmer climates. There people naturally spend more time out on the streets, where they conduct their business and socialise.
