CHICAGO - Cubs manager Joe Maddon took note of the unseasonably chilly weather Tuesday night to provide the following observation.
"It's almost June," Maddon said, presumably hoping the climate would improve.
June also marks the expected return of Pedro Strop, who could help a bullpen that has experienced a few wobbly moments recently, such as Monday's 5-4 loss in which they allowed the tying and winning runs in the ninth and 10th innings.
Their woes surfaced again in the seventh as Carl Edwards allowed two hits
