SHAFT DRIVE LAMBRETTAS 1947-57

All Innocenti Lambretta scooters manufactured between 1947 and mid-1958, up until the Series one was launched, were made with shaft drive engines. To some engineering experts and enthusiasts of a certain vintage, shaft drive engines hold a certain affection, starting off with the Model A in 1947, a basic, 3-speed foot gear change, 125cc shaft drive engined scooter, producing 4.1bhp that launched Lambretta.

The follow-on machine was, of course, the Model B, which was in production from November 1948 for 14 months. Slightly heavier than its predecessor, the Model B also had a smidgen more power. Additional differences
