Oh, one of the best Breed books yet! Harmony and Lance were one of the hottest and most frustrating couples to grace the pages of this series. I absolutely can't wait to read Jonas' book and find out if he's going to be that jerk forever, although he did save his sister's life but who cares. LOL. AMAZING!

Harmony is a rock-star!! She is just the type of strong character you love and continues to hold her own even after finding her mate! Lance is strong and dominate but not over shadowing! Lots of steam here!! An office sex scene to die for!! Really digging the new turn in the breeds books!!

I really like this one. I liked seeing a breed female being the one to mate. I also liked that this particular female was pretty bad ass! I also liked the return of Lance and learning more about his character and his growth to trust the abilities he had inherited. I'm curious if we'll get to see Dane again and learn more about him.

**Courtesy of CK2S Kwips & Kritiques**Harmony Lancaster is a Lion Breed, and an assassin who works alone, outside of the laws of Humans and Breeds alike. She needs no one, but when the Breed Council grants her one chance to redeem herself and save her life, she finds herself thrust into constant close proximity with a man she is unable to resist. A man who sees through to her very soul, proving just as dangerous to her as the secrets that she harbors. Sheriff Lance Jacobs knows the moment he lays eyes on Harmony that she is his destiny, his soul mate. The land speaks to him in whispers, telling him so, and the devastating effect she has on his body and his heart only reinforce what the land tells him. Lance has long ignored his heritage, but he must learn to harness his powers if he is to protect Harmony from those that would see her destroyed. Harmony’s Way is the eleventh in Lora Leigh’s Breeds series, although only the second released by Berkley Sensation. In my honest opinion, this story is by far the best of them all. The plot is thick with suspense, intrigue, and keeps you on the edge of your seat! While I’ve considered each of the previous Breeds stories outstanding, Leigh’s growth as a writer is never more apparent as it is in Harmony’s Way. With the move of this series to Berkley Sensation, fans benefit greatly with the higher word count and more complex plots. Berkley seems to encourage the steamy scenes we’ve come to expect (and love!) in a Breeds novel, and this second publication by Berkley Sensation sees a return of supporting characters we already know and love from the older Breeds books. There are plenty of twists and surprises in Harmony’s Way, and I do not mind admitting that I let out a little shout of excitement the moment I learned exactly who Harmony is, and what her connection is to a long recurring Breeds character! I won’t spoil the surprise here, but you will be glad to know that this particular bit of knowledge is divulged very early in the story. We also see a return of the leading characters from Megan’s Mark, Megan and Braden Arness, as the two assist their cousin Lance and Harmony, giving us a glimpse of their ‘Happily Ever After’. Personally, this is one of my favorite things in a series book – the opportunity to revisit the characters from previous books, and Lora Leigh never fails to disappoint her readers in this way.We originally met the hero, Sheriff Lance Jacobs, in Megan’s Mark, and while I enjoyed him in that book, I was totally unprepared for him in Harmony’s Way! He exceeded all of my expectations for him as a traditional alpha male, but he is tempered beautifully with an innate sensitivity, which allows him to tame the feral Harmony more efficiently than the standard alpha male could. His kindness catches her off guard, and then his primal nature totally undoes her. Harmony is a tragic heroine – a woman who has lived her life alone, with no friends or family to rely on, and she has convinced herself she needs no one. But when she meets Lance, all bets are off as he challenges everything she thought she knew about herself. Harmony’s Way also sees the return of Jonas in a big way, operating in his role as the head of the Bureau of Breed Affairs, and we are afforded the opportunity to watch his machinations up close. I have to say, as satisfying as the ending to Lance and Harmony’s romance is, this book left me panting for Jonas story more than ever! And that is another of Lora Leigh’s key talents: No matter how perfect the happy ending for the lead characters in a book, she deftly tweaks interest in sequels by peppering the story with fascinating supporting characters, giving just enough detail to whet the appetite for their individual stories. It is for that reason that you will almost always find at least one Lora Leigh book in my pre-orders at Amazon.com!

    Synopsis:
Prior to her escape from the labs, Harmony Lancaster was breed as an assassin and trained to kill. Now on the outside, she seeks justice for the weak and innocent, which puts her in danger not only from racial purists but from Breed Law as well. To save her life, Harmony is placed in the care of Sheriff Lance Jacobs who can see the gentle and caring woman beneath the façade of a killer. Their new relationship is soon threatened on all fronts and Harmony and Lance will have to stand and fight in order for their love to survive.

    Review:
The story has potential and the characters are likeable but the sex scenes tend to overshadow the plot.

Leigh seems to have reverted to the style of writing that characterizes the first books in the series in that the romance is hot but the mating is immediate and the relationship does not have enough time to build.

Lance was a great character in Megan’s Mark and definitely deserved his own book. That said, his characterization in Harmony’s Way is disappointing. Even though he is gorgeous and likeable, the overt dominance he displays is excessive. It is almost as if Leigh needs to prove that a purely human male can be as aggressive and protective of his mate as a breed male, and this is completely unnecessary. It is obvious that Lance is quite capable of standing his ground against whatever threat comes along without dominating Harmony in the process.

Harmony’s characterization is also problematic. At the beginning of the book, she is a completely independent woman and a ruthless killer but as the story progresses she seems to lose herself in the relationship with Lance and becomes weak and virtually helpless. While I appreciate a strong willed character learning to love and trust others, it was overdone here and I found it difficult to identify with her.

In terms of the plot, more information is provided about the possibility that the first lion breed, or Leo, has survived. However, this aspect of the storyline is not sufficiently developed. Moreover, there are too many potential threats to Harmony and once a villain is narrowed down, he turns out to be lackluster and does not constitute a real danger. There is no real build up of tension and suspense.

Despite my reservations about this book, I really enjoy the world that Leigh has constructed and I am interested in seeing what happens when Jonas meets his match down the road. Hopefully, the next book will be an improvement.

This is a very good addition to this series. I loved Harmony the first time that I read the book and I love her more after reading the story a second time. I also love Lance. He found a special place in my heart because he cared so much for Megan, Megan's Mark. Lance is one of those alpha males that we all wish we could find. He is loyal, compassionate, and very dominant. He also doesn't take any nonsense from Jonah. Jonah is at his most manipulative in this story. Jonah is determined to save Harmony as well as force the first Leo out of hiding. Jonah thinks that Dane is the first Leo. Boy is he in for a surprise in one of the future books. Dane is almost as bad as Jonah. He also cares for Harmony and He had hoped that she would be his mate but of course that wasn't happening. While Jonah breaks the back of H. R. Alonzo I don't think he is gone. I don't remember if he shows up in future books. I do hope that Breeds find a way to shut him up permanently and not cast any suspicious on the Breeds. The man is a menace and needs to feel what is like to have someone hound you just because you are different. He is a bully and needs to be treated as such.FIRST FOR THE SERIES:Two men rescued Harmony shortly after she escaped from the Labs in France. Dane Vanderdale and Ryan have been working behind the scenes killing off Council members and protecting the Breeds. Dane has also been protecting Harmony. This is the first book that Dane is mentioned in. He can and does caused almost as much trouble as Jonas does. Who is Ryan and is he a Breed, that is the million dollar question. Jonas and Harmony are brother and sister by blood, through the same mother. Jonas was meant to be a Breeder but his natural leadership and dominance made him Alpha One in the labs that he was created in. Lance Jacobs is also psychic. I am also guessing that this trait runs in this family.

Sadly Lora Leigh doesn't do much with her action-adventure heroine.

GOOD GRACIOUS!!!!! O.K., let me start by saying that the overall story was alright. The whole secret files and all was good. I liked Lance. Very male and very dominant. I got how Harmony lost herself in him and how he threw her off balance and how she became someone she didn't know existed. I actually liked that part of the story too. Now, for the negatives in the book. There was absolutely too much sex. I mean really, was that necessary? I do enjoy some hot romance but this went beyond. I hated the excessive use of the word p_ssy. Every time I came across that word I actually winced. And I'm no prude!! Anyway, that's my take on this one.

Even though I rated them the same, Harmony's Way was worse than Megan's Mark as far as the romance is concerned. I did not care about Lance and Harmony at all. I didn't get to know who Lance was and Harmony is supposed to be the best there is that she is nicknamed "Death", but once Lance steps into the picture, she becomes a meek, weak-willed woman who cries all the time. The sex scenes were so numerous and repetitive, that I just skimmed right through them. The only thing that kept my interest was the plot. I enjoy reading the politics of the breeds and what might happen with their future. I really hope the next few books get better or I may have to put this series to bed.

This book starts off so intense, it doesn't have anywhere to go. That's the problem with a lot of the breed books, they are pitched so high, that to stay with them for an entire book wears thin. There's a lot of plot, and a lot of sex, and Harmony is suitably tortured heroine and the depiction of the growing alphaness of her lover Lance is well done, but I didn't like the book. It was too over wrought. And the whole plot twists - that breeds don't age after mating, how fearful they are of that knowledge coming out - well it makes no sense, and their fears are correct, the greater population could never accept that. And the whole intense is he evil or not brother thing grew thin too. Too many major chords, not enough melody.

Harmony Lancaster from the Lion Breed, created to be a huntress and she does. She is paired with Sheriff Lance Jacobs who is attracted to her. I have issues with romances where the main characters have no choice in their romance, where genetics overrides personal choice. I don't really find it romantic, however the underlying story is an interesting read, full of conspiracy. It's not a bad read of it's type but still it's not my ideal read and I don't think I'll be reading more in this series.
