About this audiobook
This special collection or Arthur's adventures includes:
Arthur's First Sleepover: What could top a sleepover in the backyard with Buster and the Brain? When rumors start that a spaceship has landed in the neighborhood, the idea of camping under the stars takes on a whole new meaning. Arthur's sister, D. W., is so sure that he will see an alien on his overnight that she gives him her camera. When they hear muffled footsteps approaching their tent and see strange flashes of light, it seems D. W. was right!
Arthur's Tooth: Arthur, tired of being the only one in his class who still has all his baby teeth, waits impatiently for his loose tooth to fall out.
Arthur's Birthday: Arthur's friends must decide which party to attend when Francine schedules her birthday party for the same day as Arthur's birthday party.
Arthur's Pet Business: Arthur's determination to prove he is responsible enough to have a puppy brings him a menagerie of animals to care for.
Arthur's New Puppy: Arthur is delighted when he finally gets his new puppy, Pal, but his "accidents" and all-night barking make life miserable for the entire family, until Arthur comes up with a solution.
Arthur Writes a Story: What makes a story entertaining? That's the question Arthur asks himself when Mr. Ratburn gives a creative writing assignment to the class. When D. W. yawns through Arthur's first story, he worries that his tale isn't exciting enough. Is the setting too humdrum? Maybe he needs to research his subject more thoroughly. With every new angle, Arthur's story takes one more hilarious step further away from his original idea. But is the end result really the tale he wants to tell?

Reviews for Arthur's Audio Favorites, Volume 1

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5When assigned to write a story for class, Arthur finds nonfiction to be too boring and decides to add other elements to spice it up. As a result, his story loses its value and goes awry. This is a good book on how to write for children.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Brown's heartwarming story is about Arthur the aardvark who is assigned to write a story of his own for school. Arthur feels self conscious about the first story he writes down, so he feels the pressure to make his story wild and crazy, and even to make up a song and a dance to it, in order to make his story stand out. In the end, Arthur ends up telling his original story about how he got his puppy, and his classmates and teacher end up loving his story because it came from Arthur's heart. This story shows that it is important for children to stay true to who they are and to be proud of what they create because people will love them for it!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Arthur has an assignment to write a story for Mr. Ratburn's class. Arthur wants to write a story about how he got his dog. When he reads the story to D.W. she says it is boring. So Arthur thinks twice about submitting that story. He writes another story and shares it with others and he gets mixed reviews. Arthur wants to write the best story and so he creates this whole fiction story that when he reads it in class all the students question him about it.He finally admits to Mr. Ratburn what his true story was supposed to be and when he reads that one from memory everyone loves it.
