About this audiobook

Soon to be a major motion picture!

The third book in the breathtaking New York Times bestselling Hush, Hush saga, featuring exclusive content.

Nora Grey can’t remember anything from the past five life-changing months. After the initial shock of waking up in a cemetery and being told that she has been inexplicably missing for weeks, she tries to get her life back on track. So she goes to school, hangs with her best friend, Vee, and dodges her mom’s creepy new boyfriend.

But there is this voice in the back of her head, an idea that she can almost reach out and touch. Visions of angel wings and unearthly creatures that have nothing to do with the life she knows. And an unshakable feeling that a part of her is missing.

Then Nora crosses paths with a sexy stranger, with whom she feels a mesmerizing connection. He seems to hold all the answers…and her heart. Every minute she spends with him feels more and more intense until she realizes she could be falling in love.

Again.

This book was an installment that I was eagerly awaiting. And after finishing it, I had to wait a day until I could get my thoughts together enough to write a coherent review. The beginning is incredibly frustrating because you’re seeing the world through Nora’s eyes and you're just as “in the dark” as she is about what has happened to her. She can’t remember back to April (it’s now September) and she has been missing (kidnapped) for 11 weeks. Patch is nowhere to be found, and if anyone remembers him, they aren’t saying. Hank Miller is dating Nora’s mom and you’ll be asking WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON for about the first half of the book. But I swear, just hang in there because the last half is like free-falling. Eventually, we do get some serious Patch interaction but you’ll have to read it to see how that comes about. The plot is incredibly well thought out and Fitzpatrick does a good job in keeping you motivated to read even though she’s keeping secrets. :) The ending - well - I was unaware there was a 4th book that was recently announced so I almost threw my Kindle across the room in frustration. If there was ever a cliffhanger - this is it. I stared at the last page for a few minutes before I completely spazzed out and had to text Sash to see what the heck was going on. I thought I would have to fill in the rest of Nora and Patch’s story by myself which was devastating, to say the least. I absolutely ADORE this series. Patch is one of my dream guys (he’s also A LOT like my boyfriend--minus the whole fallen angel part--so that works out well). I can honestly say that there is NO way that anyone can guess what happens in this book, much less how it ends.If you have come to love this series as much as I have, you’ll be on your knees begging for more, happy about the ending, and completely swooning over Patch and Nora’s love story. (Not to mention Nora turns into an even stronger female protagonist than she was in the previous book, Crescendo.)

Characters: Main focus returns back to Nora. She has woken up in the middle of a field and cannot recall anything that has happened to her lately. She also has no memory of Patch and several other people that have taken over her life in the past year. But there is one new and blatant obvious new threat, her mother is dating Marcie's father! And a new love interest for herself as well?Originality: Now this book had an interesting twist to a series that I have not seen before. Our main character Nora comes back to us with amnesia, so we get to re-live her past year all over again as she is struggling to find out the missing pieces. The reader gets re-introduced to all the events of book one and two in a very interesting way, and it covers everything. Plot: Nora, after being kidnapped for 3 months has finally returned home. But she cannot remember anything that has happened to her from the last year. Even her best friend is having a hard time filling her in on events that have happened, because she can't remember most of them either. Something weird is going on here and it only pushes Nora harder to find the truth of what happened to her. Writing: The author stays true with offering most of the information we need for the story through dialogue. Now with this book since Nora is rediscovering what has happened to her over the last year, it seems there was a lot more movement. People coming in and out giving her information as well as her going out to find it. Krista's Rating: I had a little bit of a love-hate relationship with this book. As I read it immediately after reading Crescendo I didn't really need all the information all over again. But upon finishing the book I realized that it's my favorite one out of the series so far, so in the end I ended up loving it. I think that Nora's having to revisit all of the characters and the events that happened to her previously actually brought out a different perspective to the story than originally living through them with her. I have a whole new outlook on Patch, Hank and Nora. And that Ending!!! OMG did NOT see that happening. 4 stars

Okay, things are getting pretty exciting in this series and I loved this book. The only minus in this book was the lack of Patch because I totally love him. Now I just to seek out the final book in the series and find out what happens to them in the end. Can't wait!

I figured out why this book and the last one bothered me. The protagonist had no growth. Things happened to her, but through it all, she stayed the same. The same victim. The same quick to anger temper. The same sense of I'm helpless. Honestly, I think the book might have served better to have been written by Jev's POV. He's the one who had to change and make sacrifices.
The book seemed to have no point. I know, it was about the war between the Nephilim and the fallen angels, but we never even really get to that.
Oh, and the end. Sigh. Just seemed to convenient. That resolution/turn of events/twist . . . I just didn't buy that. Nope, not sold.
Clean read. Not even very many steamy scenes. That was a let down.

Silence starts with Nora being found and having no memory of who kidnapped her. As the story continues her memory is slowly revealed. Patch is now Jev? Scott is in and out of hiding & the Black Hand is playing mind tricks. I enjoyed this book, but wouldn't say it is the best in the series. There is tons of suspense and little romance. While Scott & Patch are both back in the picture, Nora leans more towards Patch -Like Always. You can probably tell I am team Scott all the way!! I found this book to have alot of good parts, but they never really added up to the finish I expected. Still going to read book #4.... Hopefully the series ends with a bang

Still loving these books! Vee has annoyed me once again, but maybe it's just a personality thing. I keep hoping to see her change her tune and starting being FULLY supportive of Nora instead of just when she wants to be. Maybe in book 4? Patch, Nora, Scott, love them all, the dynamic is not like a love triangle and I like that difference in this series. The action and adventure and mystery is still super fast paced and keeps me wanting to read until I drop. I'm anxious to see how Nora handles her new life in book 4.

I remember the first time I read Hush Hush, it wasn't just that the cover was breathtaking with silver, black, white and red, it was filled with thriller, sexiness (Patch!) and edginess Vee and Nora. I loved the first book so much that I read it 3 times. I can't wait to finish this book and see how everything will end in Finale.

I kind of liked it but not a lot. Not sure why I feel this series went downhill after the first book, I seem to be in the minority on that. Not sure if I want to keep reading the books in this series. Just not compelling enough.

Read this WAY too long after the first two; really liked the series but should have reread book one and two before jumping into this one because now I don't feel like I can give it a fair review so I won't even try.

Contemporary, Paranormal, Romance, Young AdultColdwater, MaineNora Grey wakes up in a cemetery only to realize that she can’t remember the last several months and that she has been missing for weeks. Nora tries to resume her daily life by hanging out with her best friend, Vee, dealing with school and avoiding her mother’s new boyfriend who is very creepy. As she struggles to put the pieces together she can’t help feeling that everyone knows more about her disappearance than she does. Now Nora has met a stranger that is very mysterious and that she finds she is both drawn to and afraid of. At least he is able to shed some light on her memory loss. Unfortunately this leads Nora to find out that she is about to embark on the fight of her life and that she is in the middle of ancient enemies that is almost more than she can comprehend. If that wasn’t enough she is also falling in love. With all the strange occurrences happenings it bring the feeling that she has already done this before. This is another great story in a series that is proving hard to forget. Watching Nora go through all the trials she is going through and how she deals with all the obstacles thrown in her path makes for a story that keeps readers turning the pages just to see how it will all turn out. It is a different take on fallen angels that makes for an intriguing read. The story comes to life with all the details provided in the story and yet it doesn’t overwhelm the reader with too much to take in. This one will also have readers wanting to read the last book in the series just to see how everything will eventually turn out for Nora and those she loves and cares about. It is also a story that will have readers wanting to read more from this author.

In this installment of the "Hush Hush" series, we find that Nora has had her memory wiped clean and has just returned to the land of the living after missing for 3 months. Included in that memory loss is her love for Patch, and her knowledge of Scott, her father, fallen angels, Nephilim, and pretty much everything that made us enjoy reading about her for the past two books. Gradually, her memory returns and when it does - watch out! The action we've grown to know and love, along with the heated romance between her and Patch, is renewed once more.

As my first real romance saga, I thought this was amazing! This book wasn't as suspenseful or dark as the other two books before, but there was still a good twist in events. I will finish this book and make a romance shelf because I loved this book!

I'm making good progress through this series. On to book three already and looking like I will officially be done with this saga/sequence/whatever in the next couple of days. Thank goodness. I know what you're thinking, I could have stopped anytime. But let's face it, that's just not me. I will read bad books just to be reading something, no matter how angry I get at characters (authors generally spare most of my wrath, maybe unfairly). In Silence, it took a whole 47 pages before Nora started to piss me off, probably because she had lost her memory. She was somewhat pleasant before she went traipsing through the cemetery in the middle of the night only a day or so after being returned by her kidnapper. Good idea, Nora! Watch me slap my head into the desk. I thought it was going to be okay until we had to watch her fall in love with Creepy Stalker Angel Lover Boy Patch all over again. That, I definitely did not need. Was not any more fun the second time round, I assure you. These books are getting tiresome and it's getting harder to write reviews. I know I don't like Nora or Patch, so I am hardened toward these books already, before I start. But it's hard not to. They just feel all the same. Before I started writing this review I started reading book four, Finale and now I'm having trouble separating the two. There isn't much to distinguish any of the four books and once they're behind me and I've moved on to other books, I just know I won't remember them. Just how much I didn't like them.So there's not a whole lot else to say: Nora does some yelling at Patch for stupid reasons, Nora goes traipsing around getting herself into dangerous situations, not much of Vee or even Marcie in this one, Nora's mother is ignoring her even after Nora's been missing for months. Oh and Scott's around too. These are very strange characters and I just can't attach to them. It makes it so much harder to enjoy. The fallen angels vs. the Nephilium is the only part of the story I actually like. But it keeps getting overshadowed by Nora and Patch's undying love. I couldn't care less about that! Sigh...So I've got one more book to go, I can do this! And put this whole series behind me forever. 2.5 stars for Silence. What's the go with these titles anyway?

This one was probably my favourite out of the three simply because it was so interesting with her amnesia. I enjoyed how she discovered more and more things about the months of her life that had been wiped from her memory. I enjoyed the relationship with her and 'Jev'. I liked the flashbacks and the bonus chapter of Nora and Patch's first encounter- that she didn't know about because he'd erased it from her memory.
It was well written, interesting, and I'm looking forward to reading the next one. It ended on a good cliffhanger too.
It may not be everyone's cup of tea but I think its definitely worth a read even if it isn't something you'd normally choose.

I thought the first half of this one was awesome, and then it kind of dropped off a bit in awesomeness. It was still good/interesting, but I thought she was going to knock it totally out of the park, and then it seemed like she kind of got tired. Writing is hard, yo.

Liked #2 the best so far. On to #4. :)

Nora Grey finds herself in a graveyard not sure how she go there or why. All she knows is that things are foggy, she's terrified and nothing seems they way it should be. So we learn Nora has been missing for the past three months, yet she has no memory of being gone those months or the two months prior. As if that wasn't enough trauma, she discovers her mother is now dating her mortal enemy's father, Hank Miller. The only thing that seems to calm her down are these dark eyes she sees in her mind. While those dark eyes should be terrifying, they comfort her in a way she can't explain.

Patch (or Jev as he's now known) tries to stick to the oath he swore when he struck his bargain with Hank Miller. He figured with Nora's memories of him gone, she'll be safe and lead a normal human life. But every time he turns around, she seems to be smack dab in the middle of the Nephilim / Archangel mess. When he discovers Hank has gone back on his word to leave Nora alone, he makes the decision to help Nora regain her memories, including those of him. He'd rather have her with him than lose her althogether.

Together Patch and Nora work to stop Hank in his quest to cause an Nephilim uprising against the Archangels, but the cost may be too high as those that Nora love become entangled in Hank's evil plan.

I think this is my favorite of the series. Nora has grown stronger and stands her ground, where before she would have whined. Because of this, I like her more. I wanted her to stand up to her mother, Hank and Patch. She was no longer anyone's stepping stone. In the end, I think it was the strength that led to her and Patch being better partners and strengthening their relationship.

Who doesn't love Patch. He's the ultimate bad boy turned good. While the traces of his badness showed up a lot more in this book, he only brought those out when trying to protect the one thing he loves...Nora. He's tries to be domineering with her when she won't listen to his version of reason, but he does listen to her and he doesn't demand from her like he did in the other two books. You can tell that the time away from Nora made him truly appreciate what he has with her.

Loved the suspense of this one and the all out evilness of Hank. I'm hoping some of that badness will move onto the next book...even if it's without Hank.

Nora Grey can't remember the last 5 months of her life. I will be applying eye cream thanks to Nora Grey from now on. I just love the whole saga, what can I say? Even if the book sucks I will just say I love it, just because. In this book I didn't like the fact Nora was so know-it-all and deep when she spoke to Nephilim, she was more of an anxious teenager to me. I always wish she would tell Vee the truth about stuff. So maybe in the next book. Bring it on, Finale here I come! (I promise I will do homework when I'm done :P )

In the third book of the Hush, Hush series Nora wakes up in the cemetery not knowing what happen the last 5 months of her life. After the police rescues her Nora goes to her house to find out that her mom is dating her enemies,Mercie, dad and she tries to remake her life by hanging out with her best friend, Vee, and going to school. One day her mom convinces Nora to go to a dinner with Hank, Mercies dad, and when they get there Mercie and her mom are there too. After Mercie sees them she goes to say hi to her dad and to insult Nora's mom, when she lives Nora says she can't take another second there so she lives and calls Vee to ask her if she can give her a ride and she says yes. Nora leaves the restaurant and starts walking, after walking for a few minutes she sees a gasoline and stops there. When she enters the store she sees some guys fighting and she tries to live but they stop her. When they are about to hit her a guy name Jev stops them and tells her to get away. Instantly she feels a connection with him but she doesn't know where she met him and when he calls her Angel she feels like deja-vu.The next day she asks her mom and Vee if she knew a guy named Jev but they say no. As the days go Nora keeps having flashbacks and dreams of Jev and another boy,Scott. A few days later Nora sees Jev and Scott and they start to help her to figure out what her dreams mean and flashbacks. After doing research Nora discovers that Jev is Patch, her boyfriend and a fallen angel, and that Scott is a nephilim. She also discovers that Hank is the Black Hand. Each day she starts to remember more things about Hank and Patch through flashbacks. In the end of the book Hank makes Nora make a promise about her becoming a nephilim and taking care of Hank's army if anything happens to him or else she and her mom die. Also Hank tries to send Patch to hell with one of his feathers but Nora kills him.I like this book because of the suspend and because you see as Nora regains her memories.

Although this book starts off slow, I tolerated it a lot more than I tolerated Crescendo because at least we didn't have Marcie pawing at Patch. Don't get me started. Nora has lost her memory and can't remember the past 5 months -- conveniently (or inconveniently) they're the months that she knew Patch. Her family and friends aren't telling her the truth, and she's only seeing bits and pieces of the missing time. The part I found frustrating was having to learn everything all over again, especially since you already know so much from the previous two books in the series. But, at the same time, you learn more in Silence because now Nora has to piece together those months she can't remember. I still enjoyed the book, and felt it worth at least 4 stars.

    Plot
I pretty much just mentioned how I feel about the plot in the last paragraph but I guess I can expand upon it. Basically, the whole idea of Nora losing her memory I definitely liked. It presents a challenge for her and with that challenge she's going to learn quite a bit about herself, her heritage, and those she has chosen as allies. Unable to remember much more of Patch than the color black, she knows something is missing. This makes me, as a reader who knows what Nora doesn't, want to rip out my hair and scream NORA, REMEMBER, especially when she meets Patch -- Jev -- again on accident. Drove me crazy to know that they were so close and she couldn't remember him!

But then it got better and the book began to pick up the pace. Suddenly Nora was beginning to remember things and oh, yay, WE FINALLY GET TO MEET CHARACTERS WE LIKE (why so much Marcie?! Hate her). We meet up with Scott again, who is actually telling Nora the truth. Vee is lying to her. Her mom is lying to her. Hank sucks. I actually feel for Nora, even though she doesn't always do the smartest things.

    Characters

I think I will always have a problem with Nora. And I don't blame it on Fitzpatrick at all, okay? I just find Nora to be...well, sometimes she's just really dumb. She doesn't ever listen to what people tell her (Patch told you to stay in the cave and you didn't, way to go), and sometimes she's even putting other people in danger. At the same time I realize that a lot of the stupid things Nora does launch the plot into action, so I guess I shouldn't complain that much. There are just things Nora does I definitely would not do.

Ah, Patch. Our lovely, lovely Patch. You don't see much of him in Silence, mostly because he's trying to hide from Nora to keep good on his bet with Hank. I was so glad when he was finally back in the picture! Also, we get to see more of Scott. I have mixed feelings about Scott -- he can be really obnoxious, and other times he's a pretty cool dude. He's obnoxious when he's flirting with Nora and his ego kicks in, but he's pretty cool when he's trying to help Nora remember, and help her understand who (and what) she is. I just have a problem with him sometimes, but I'm super picky about characters so that doesn't say much.

All in all I enjoyed Silence and would definitely recommend it. It starts off slow but picks up speed after Nora sees Patch again. Also, this book really brings together what the first and second books were leading up to. I'm super excited to read Finale now; so much has happened and there's so much more to come!

I thought I would keep reading this series for the sole purpose that it might get better. So far I liked the first book the best and it is slowly going downhill for me from there. The only think that I do like about the book is the story, it is interesting to unravel what everything means even though the characters are more than annoying.Once again I could not stand Nora, she is just pure annoying. Her whole persona is whiny and complaining, there is nothing I can really like about her or connect to. Now I know Patch has that jerky personality but it goes beyond that to less than redeeming qualities and overall a lack of communication between characters. For loving each other so much it does not bode well for their entire further if neither one of them can effectively communicate with one another. Vee is perhaps still my favorite character just because she has such a overwhelmingly overbearing and charismatic personality.Even after all of this I have already put up with three of the books so yes, I am going to move onto the forth but now I am not expecting redeeming, I'm just looking for the end.

Originally published on my blog, My Urban FantasiesSilence takes place three months after Crescendo. After waking up in a cemetery with amnesia Nora tries to dive back into her old life. On her first day of school Nora quickly realizes that it is never going to happen. Everyone keeps looking at Nora like she's "that girl," the one who was kidnapped and cannot remember what happened to her. Not only are the curious glances bothering her but Nora has the distinct feeling that the two most important people in her life, her mom and Vee, are hiding something. After the cliffhanger ending of Crescendo I was less than thrilled with the idea of Nora having amnesia. After reading Silence I am relieved that it was not as bad as I thought it was going to be. Nora quickly catches up on the important highlights of the last five months of her life from an unlikely source, Scott. Yes Scottie the hottie is back! I'm beyond thrilled that I did not have to spend the entire novel rereading stuff that I already knew. In case you're wondering, yes, you will get the details of what happened when Hank Millar showed up that fateful night rudely interrupting Patch and Nora.Silence was significantly better than the first two novels. The characters personalities are more thought out and actually remain consistent throughout the whole book. Silence is well balanced, no more jumping from one extreme to another. I love the fact that Nora is more mature now. The occasional teenage moment sneaks through which is okay because, hello, she is a teenager. Nora is a stronger character now and finally seems like she's actually ready to take charge of her own life.

No, no, no. I can't believe you can milk a stupid character like Nora to such an extent, that you write four books out of it! Four books, people, that's a lot of pages of crap, crap, crap. Lemme tell you this. Nora is a moron, not even sure that this is a strong enough word. Like I've previously said, this girl should have been killed back in Crescendo.'In my mind, I smacked my head against a wall'. Well, Nora, in my mind I also smacked your head against a wall. And I also did it repetitively ...But I want to point out one of the greatest issues of Silence--the first-time-Nora-and-Patch-meet-from-his-point-of-view shit. Now, how do I put this mildly? Becca, dear Becca, you failed very very hard. You did not tell a story from Patch's point of view--quickly bitch slap that thought out of your mind! All you did is that you magically transformed him into Nora--a mind numbing and ridiculously stupid character (next one, please). I am now officially sorry for noticing that...bonus. And what bugs me the most is that...this final and utterly tormented part of Silence (which I kinda shoulda be thankful for, right?) feels like it wants to grow legs and run far, far away to a land where poorly written books can get therapy! So, there is only one book left now, and since I've proven myself to be masochistic, I'll read it. Then, all I'll be left with is hoping for somebody to erase my memory....

As you can tell, I'm on a roll with trying to read books that have been on shelves for a while now. Since this series has been option to become a movie, I jumped on it to read it. And now I know why this book is called Silence...What I loved most about this book is great plot. Nora has lost everything...literally. Unable to remember anything, she finds herself struggling with emotions she doesn't quite understand as well as running into a certain somebody she swears she's seen before. I really loved that Nora is more determined then ever. She knows something is missing from her mind and goes out of her way to find it. She keeps searching till its found. She is loyal as ever and quickly pieces things together. The love interest is what I expected. And of course he couldn't keep away from her. Even when he said he would. Patch is doing everything he knows to keep her safe. I'm surprised at the deals he make. You can really tell that he loves Nora soo much. He sacrifice things that are dear to him just to make sure she is okay. That is love. How do you remember something that is stolen from you? You take hold of it and don't let go till your remember. Silence is great story full of everlasting love and action. The battle has been won but the war is just beginning. Silence is great!
