About this audiobook

On the anniversary of his beloved wife's death, Dr. Michael Everett receives a letter Hannah had written him.

In it she reminds him of her love and makes one final request. An impossible request-I want you to marry again. She tells him he shouldn't spend the years he has left grieving her. And to that end she's chosen three women she asks him to consider.

First on Hannah's list is her cousin, Winter Adams, a trained chef who owns a café on Seattle's Blossom Street. The second is Leanne Lancaster, Hannah's oncology nurse. Michael knows them both. But the third name is one he's not familiar with-Macy Roth.

Each of these three women has her own heartache, her own private grief. More than a year earlier, Winter broke off her relationship with another chef. Leanne is divorced from a man who defrauded the hospital for which she works. And Macy lacks family of her own, the family she craves, but she's a rescuer of strays, human and animal. Macy is energetic, artistic, eccentric-and couldn't be more different from Michael.

During the months that follow, he spends time with Winter, Leanne and Macy, learning more about each of them…and about himself. Learning what Hannah already knew. He's a man who needs the completeness only love can offer. And Hannah's list leads him to the woman who can help him find it.

Nice little story. No surprises and a little repetitive but a nice story.

A touching story of a man who has loved, lost, and is slowly putting his life back together. The story starts Dr. Michael Everett. It has been 1 year since his wife Hannah died of cancer. On this day, his best friend/Hannah's brother gives him a letter that Hannah left for him. She basically tells Michael that he still has a lot of life to live and that she wants him to be happy and find love again. She even goes so far as to list a few canidates for him.

The majority of the story is from Michael's point of view as he meets the women on the list. We see his feelings towards them and about his guilt that he even has feelings towards someone other than his wife. We also get a little of the points of view of the three women on the list, and the issues they are having with their life.
All in all, it was a beautiful story, with a wonderful happy ending for all those involved.

Rather a sweet story of a widower, a year after his wife's death, reads a letter from her, telling him that he should marry again, and she has selected three women for him to choose from.

After one year, Dr. Michael Everett is still mourning the death of his beloved wife, Hannah. It seems that Hannah knew this might happen and left Michael a letter saying he should remarry, giving him three names to consider: her cousin Winter Adams, her oncology nurse Leanne Lancaster, and Macy Roth, someone Michael had never heard of before. Michael doesn't think he can ever fall in love again, but agrees to do as Hannah wished and gets to know all three women. What Michael doesn't realize is that he's not the only one who has to listen to his heart and learn to love again - so do the three women on Hannah's List. "Hannah's List" is another winning romance by Debbie Macomber. While the premise is based on tragedy (Hannah died far too young) and Michael's mourning is very real, the book isn't really sad. In fact, you'll smile more than once while reading it. Macomber is not a subtle author and it is obvious early on who Michael will end up with, but it is still an enjoyable read as the two fall in love (and never fear the other two women end up happy also). Macomber uses two points of view in the novel: first person from Michael's point of view and third person when telling Winter, Leanne, and Macy's story. The first-person point of view really helps establish Michael's character. Each woman is a nicely done character, although towards the middle of the book and onward the book focuses more on one woman as Michael begins to fall in love again. Macomber also gives readers enough bits and pieces about Hannah so readers will understand what a huge loss Michael has suffered. Fans of Macomber's Blossom Street Series will be happy to see some of the characters from that series in this book, notably Winter and Alix. "Hannah's List" is another nice romance by Debbie Macomber.

If your a fan of "Chic lit" you will certainly enjoy this book, an easy summer read. Dr Michale Everett is a widow, his wife Hannah having died from ovarian cancer. On the anniversary of her death Michael is given a letter written by Hannah before she died, it gives a list of three names of women that Hannah thinks would make suitable wives for him when she has gone. The story basically tells you of Michaels trials and tribulations meeting the three and getting to know them! It is quite predictable and doesn't take a lot of thought to see where it will end, but is quite an enjoyable read if you don't want to have to think in depth about what you are reading, great for the beach. Not really my sort of thing, but not bad!

I knew the ending near the beginning but that did not make this book any less charming and a joy to read. Debbie Macomber does a great job making her characters so real and personable that I feel like they live down the street.

As always, Debbie Macomber has written a very interesting book.... It continues in the same vein as all the Blossom Street novels. A great summer read! I just finished reading on my covered deck outside in great weather and lots of fresh air.

This book traces the life of a 40 something Pediatrician, Michael who has lost his beloved wife, Hannah of 11 years and whom he loved immensely. Even after an year, he is still sad, broken from inside and not ready to accept her non-existence. He accepts the fact that she is dead, but it is not ready to let go. Hannah's brother and Michael's best friend hands him a letter from Hannah. Hannah had asked Ritchie to wait an year and then give this letter to Michael. In the letter, Hannah asks Michael to move on with his life and goes as far as listing 3 probable women he could date. Knowing him, she is sure he needs this help more than anyone else. And thus Michael to honor Hannah's last wish meets and spends time with the 3 women.Michael is a guarded and stubborn person who is not ready to let go of the grief that he has in his heart because of the loss of his wife. He holds on to it and his past and is not ready to acknowledge the fact that it is futile. He feels that if he was happy again, he would be guilty. All through, Hannah just wants him to let go of her and remember their times together as beautiful and just move on. She wants him to let go off of his guilt and walk towards happiness.I definitely thought this was a slow read in the beginning but on the entry of the 3 women and there individual stories it suddenly became interesting and a great read. Of course it is a bit predictable but I really liked all the 3 women. There individual relationship problems, were lessons from which I learned a lot. Of course, Macy is a favorite and her quirkiness is her charm and it is a great experience seeing Michael winning over his emotional struggle and feeling happy. All in all, it was a nice, fluffy and cozy read. I am sure it will put a smile on anyone's face and you get to learn a thing or two about relationships as well. Recommended.

Dr. Michael Everett's wife Hannah died after a very short battle with ovarian cancer and on the anniversary of her death, her brother gives him a letter Hannah wrote to him shortly before her death. She wanted him to marry again and picked three women he should consider. Kinda of quirky, but a good read.

Back Cover: On the Anniversary of his beloved wife’s death, Dr. Michael Everett receives a letter Hannah had written to him.

In it she reminds him of her love and makes one final request. An impossible request – I want you to marry again. She tells him he shouldn’t spend the years he has left grieving her. And to that end she’s chosen three women she asks him to consider.

First on Hannah’s list is her cousin, Winter Adams, a trained chef who owns a café on Seattle’s Blossom Street. The second is Leanne Lancaster, Hannah’s oncology nurse. Michael knows them both. But the third name is one he’s not familiar with – Macy Roth.

Each of these three women has her own heartache, her own private grief. More than a year earlier, Winter broke off her relationship with another chef. Leanne is divorced from a man who defrauded the hospital for which she works. And Macy lacks family of her own, the family she craves, but she’s a rescuer of strays, human and animal. Macy is energetic, artistic, eccentric – and couldn’t be more different from Michael.

Mine: As ever Macomber gets to the heart. Michael must live with the fact that his wife Hannah who died over a year ago is giving him permission to move on with his life. She has left him a letter with 3 choices of ladies who might be suitable. As always the least likely on paper is probably the best choice for him; if he will just let his heart open.

It had been a year since Hannah’s death and while Michael Everett had continued his life, he still hadn’t moved on. Knowing her husband the way she did, Hannah left a letter with her brother, Ritchie (Michael’s best friend) with instructions of when to deliver it. One year after her death she was giving him one more last request, move on, re-marry, have kids, be happy. It would be a difficult request to fulfill so Hannah had given him the help he needed. The rest of the letter contained names of three women: Winter Adams - Hannah’s own cousin and the owner of the café on Blossom Street. Leanne Lancaster - an oncology nurse that was always kind and caring. Macy Roth - a model and artist that was funny and clever and always has a smile to share. Not believing for a minute that he would pick one of his late wife’s choices to be a wife to him now, but knowing he had to grant her final wish, he decided to give it a try.Book 7 ….. A little different perspective than normal, it is all from the mans (Michaels) point of view. Not mush of a connection to Blossom street, but wow - it was an emotional ride. From the first paragraph to the last it was an emotional book for me. There was a connection with the characters were from the beginning. The ladies all had problems as does Michael, but that just makes them all easier to relate to. Predictable - yes the one you think he ends up with from the beginning is the one he ends up with, but it’s the journey and not the outcome that makes this emotional drama worth the time. Tears flowed, for varied reasons and after all the “I knew its” I just reminded myself that this is why I like Debbie Macomber books so much. The simple yet emotional charged story of a man trying to move on.

Debbie Macomber is one of those authors I can rely on when I'm craving a nice story with a happy ending. I love her Blossom Street and Cedar Cover series, as well as her stand-alone books. In fact, I've never read a Debbie Macomber book that I didn't enjoy! This story reminded me a little of P.S. I Love You by Cecelia Ahern, in that a dying spouse wrote letters to be delivered after their death. While Ahern's hero wrote monthly letters to his wife and Hannah only wrote one, they both wanted their beloved spouse to get on with their lives and find happiness and love again. That's incredibly loving and unselfish, and both stories brought tears to my eyes. Hannah's letter urges her husband to find love again, and marry & start the family they always dreamed of. Hannah goes so far as to suggest three possible matches for her husband, which he finds a little overwhelming. But he does meet the three women in order to fulfill Hannah's last request.I liked all three women, and while I was a little surprised at the ending, it did make sense. I gave this book a 4/5 rating as I really enjoyed it! Debbie is very talented, and I love her stories! Some of the characters from her Blossom Street series make cameos, and it's nice to get brief glimpses of other characters we've come to know and love.If you enjoy simple, uncomplicated, light romances, then this book is for you! While it is sad in parts, it's joyful as well. These characters seem like real people and their life isn't always smooth, but they persevere. It's a fast, enjoyable read with a lovely ending.
