About this audiobook

There’s a new shop on Seattle’s Blossom Street—a flower store called Susannah’s Garden, right next door to A Good Yarn. Susannah Nelson, the owner, has just hired a young widow named Colette Blake. A couple of months earlier, Colette had abruptly quit her previous job—after a brief affair with her boss. To her dismay, he’s suddenly begun placing weekly orders for flower arrangements!

Susannah and Colette both join Lydia Goetz’s new knitting class. Lydia’s previous classes have forged lasting friendships, and this one is no exception. But Lydia and her sister, Margaret, have worries of their own. Margaret’s daughter, Julia, has been the victim of a random carjacking, and the entire family is thrown into emotional chaos.

Then there’s Alix Townsend. Her wedding to Jordan Turner is only months away—but she’s not sure she can go through with it. Her love for Jordan isn’t in question; what she can’t handle is the whole wedding extravaganza engineered by her mentor, Jacqueline, with the enthusiastic cooperation of her future mother-in-law. A reception at the country club and hundreds of guests she’s never even met—it’s just not Alix.

Like everyone else in Lydia’s knitting class, Alix knows there’s a solution to every problem…and that another woman can usually help you find it!

I picked this up from the YMCA's book exchange shelf, but I see two people I know have read it already. This book does contain 2 knitting patterns for prayer shawls--one easier and one made with lace. I liked the discussion of prayer shawls that results from Lydia's knitting class. My biggest problem with Macomber's books has been how far she lets her characters go in romantic situations before she reels them in. This book does have an instance of a one-night stand that results in a pregnancy. There are some good discussion points within the storyline:*When to stand up for yourself and when to give in gracefully*If you care about/love someone else you need to pay attention to and listen to him/her*You can't keep bad feelings bottled up inside. They will come out somehow.*It's good to talk about life's problems with a trusted person*Forgiveness

Enjoyable read. Liked this story better than some of the earlier ones. Love how the characters get connected and their story lines continued even as new characters are added.

An absorbing story about three women and their myriad of issues but it was more chick-lit than romance and the switching between story threads just when it got good was very frustrating sometimes. Yarn shop owner Lydia starts a new class with Alix who is planning her wedding and Colette a quiet woman who lives about the shop.

After reading the first two books I had reservations that this book "Back on Blossom Street" would be a winner. To my joy I wasn't disappointed and this book was just wonderful to read. Ms. Macomber inclueded a few twists and she has a super approach in writing the details of characters and places that made me feel like I was there with them. If you're a Debbie Macomber fan then I would think that you would enjoy this book.

Another great Blossom Street book. This one was a bit weightier than a few of the others, but explored Margret's and Alix's characters more deeply, as well as introduced some other wonderfully constructed characters to the Blossom Street cast.

This book is what it seems- a light read, chick-lit, but thoroughly enjoyable and even uplifting. I've read the whole series in a short time and enjoyed each one. I am glad the author revisits the characters we came to love in the first book, although I'd like to hear more about how their lives are evolving rather than just a guest appearance or two. Of course this one does go in depth with Alix, who is one of my favorite characters in the series!

Ever since she opened her yarn shop, Lydia Goetz has held knitting classes there. This time around three people are taking her class on knitting a prayer shawl: Alix Townsend, Susannah Nelson, and Colette Blake. Both Alix and Colette hope the class will help take their mind off of things - Alix is trying to keep her marriage plans under control and Colette is dealing with the loss of her husband and the consequences of a brief affair with her (ex) boss. Lydia has her own worries - her niece Julia was injured in a car jacking and Lydia's sister Margaret (Julia's mother) is not handling it well. They all have problems but the women on Blossom Street know they can rely on each other for support. "Back on Blossom Street" is the third book in Debbie Macomber's delightful Blossom Street series (the first two are The Shop on Blossom Street (The Knitting Books #1) and A Good Yarn (The Knitting Books #2)). Macomber's books are like soap operas on paper (light, fluffy, but addicting) and "Back on Blossom Street" doesn't disappoint. The book alternates chapters focusing on three of the characters: Lydia (told in the first person) and Colette and Alix (both told in the third person). Of the three, I liked Lydia's story the best as she watches her family struggle to deal with the aftereffects of a brutal crime. Margaret's reaction is very real, as she wants revenge against the man that hurt her daughter. Lydia and Margaret's struggle to deal with their aging mother is all too real and heartbreaking. My next favorite story line was Alix's - her letting her good friend Jacqueline and soon to be mother-in-law Susan take over her wedding plans is a cliched plot line but fun to read just to see if Alix finally puts her foot down. I found Colette's plot line to be the least believable for a number of reasons I can't explain without ruining the plot (let's just say she's bad at communicating). Her reason for running away never really worked for me. I was hoping that the introduction of a possible suitor for Colette would open up a mystery plot, but that never happened. Colette's plot had some good points, but never really worked for me. "Back on Blossom Street" brings back some old friends and introduces some new ones, making for a pleasant read. Well done.

The Blossom Street bunch is back . Alix and Jordan are getting married. However, some new characters are added. They are just as special as the rest. I feel like I know all of the people of Blossom Street and I can't wait for the next book. This book is an easy and relaxing read.

The women of Blossom Street are back, with some new guests, as usual! This time around, Alix and Jordan are getting married and there's a widow living in Lydia's old apartment. It's a great look at how far some of the characters have come (namely Alix), and I hope we'll hear more about Colette, the widow, in a future book.

In this book, Debbie Macomber brings us back to the Good Yarn. Lydia, the owner and Margaret her sister run the yarn shop. Lydias knitting class this time around is to make a prayer shawl. Susannah, the new flower shop owner from next door, and Susannahs new employee, Colette have both signed up for the class. A face from the first book, Alix also joins this class. Alix is looking for a way to relax and take her mind off her wedding planning fiasco. Although good intentioned, Jacqueline, another charecter from the original book, is stressing Alix and Jordan about the wedding arrangements. During the course of the class, we see Margaret and her daughter Julia go through a tragic time, we also get a glipse of the troubles that made Colette leave her former job and work for Susannah. This book was a little slower moving than some of Debbie Macomber other works, but the charecters are heartfelt and realistic. The thoughts and feelings of several are so intense and real that you can empathize with them. Overall, a good addition to the Blossom Street series. I am eager to try out the 2 prayer shawl patterns included in the front of the book.
