About this audiobook

Janet Evanovich, mega-bestselling author of the beloved Stephanie Plum series, is back and better than ever. Her novels, hailed by GQ as "among the great joys of contemporary crime fiction," deliver rollicking adventure with crackling wit and hilarious mayhem. And, now, one of the hottest writers today returns with dynamic duo Lizzy and Diesel to prove that when hunting down bad guys, the real fun is in the chase.

When Harvard University English professor and dyed-in-the-wool romantic Gilbert Reedy is mysteriously murdered and thrown off his fourth-floor balcony, Lizzy and Diesel take up his twenty-year quest for the Luxuria Stone, an ancient relic believed by some to be infused with the power of lust. Following clues contained in a cryptic nineteenth-century book of sonnets, Lizzy and Diesel tear through Boston catacombs, government buildings, and multimillion-dollar residences, leaving a trail of robbed graves, public disturbances, and spontaneous seduction.

Janet Evanovich does it again and gives us another exciting un-put-down-able read that is striking a chord with readers everywhere!

In the Lizzy and Diesel series, I think books 1 and 3 were a little better. That doesn't mean you won't enjoy this book. If you are a fan of Janet Evanovich you will have fun reading this. Crazy characters and wacky situations. I love how Glo shines in this book. Her budding romance with Hatchet is hysterical. This book is non stop action, and this time a third player is in the race for the stone, Anarchy. She adds more of a sense of danger to the story. This was a quick, enjoyable read.

I am knocking one star off because of the abrupt ending (which I didn't understand). Not to mention, the book was not as funny as I expected it to be, nor was the plot revolving around the Luxuria Stone very clear.

This is second in a series about Lizzy, Diesel & Wulf (Diesel's cousin) looking for empowered stones which incite the keepers to act out on one of the seven deadly sins. Along w/ Lizzy's friends, Glo and Clare, there is also Hatchet (Wulf's minion), Carl the monkey, Cat, and a new evil contender, Anarchy.

In this book the stone being searched for is connected to the sin of Lust, however, the stone was originally one of the 7 Virtues, True Love, and that seems to be what the holder of the stone was searching for. How the stone was changed to a Vice was never made clear, nor was it clear that the stone had changed back to a Virtue. There was also a search for: a book of Love Poems, the key to the book, mysterious messages, bells, a painting, and a science exhibit all laced with clues.

    Meh!

Decent. Not as good as the first of the series and seemed to drag on. I couldn't enjoy Anarchy's character, even as a villain. Overall, decent but if this was the first, I might not keep reading the series. Since the first one was so good, I'm willing to give the next one a try and see how it turns out.

I was disappointed to not find vintage Evanovich humor in this book. It was an okay read, but I felt distant from the characters. I thought the plot arc was a bit convoluted with all the clues and dead ends they needed to follow to reach their objective.

Although I prefer the Stephanie Plum series, the Lizzy and Diesel novels are still a kick.

I've read other reviews, and I think the best words to describe a book like this is a "mental twinkie" - the plot is okay, the story moves fast, and the characters are distracting. It leaves you wanting more, just like a twinkie. It's not the best thing I've read this year, but it was good enough for me at the time. I'm interested to see how the sequel, "Wicked Charms" holds up.

I enjoyed this novel bordering between the real world and a world of "a little bit of magic". It is just plain fun to read. Now I will backtrack and read Wicked Appetite so I'll be ready for the third book in the series coming soon "Wicked Charms".

This is a fun little series. Yes, as many other reviewers have written it is the same recipe for success as the Stephanie Plum series but at the end of the day when I want to close the world out with a smile on my face then these books are medicine for the soul.

I so wanted to like this book, but I can't. The leading character, Lizzy, is a dud. The storyline is a jumbled mess. The side stories with the wanna be witch is kind of funny but honestly it doesn't add to the story. The plot of finding the stones while continuing to lead a normal work life is just odd.

I tried to give Evanovich another chance after I gave up on the Stephanie Plum series, but alas, this series is no better. Not only does it feel like a Sookie Stackhouse book by Charlaine Harris but the female character is just as lame as Plum is. Right down to having her car torched just like in the Plum novels where every book something happens drastically to her car. Will not give this author another chance.

I usually enjoy reading Janet Evanovich, and have read the first of the new series of Lizzy and Diesel, but this book is terrible. I felt like I was reading a teen-ager's book with such juvenile structure and wording. The story is so far fetched and unbelievable, and nothing redeeming appears in the novel. Even magic could not help the book. The characters and plot are flat, and no excitement stirs within the witchy setting.

I am such a fan of Evanovich, but I admit I could not get into this book. It dragged, the characters were not believable, and I found it a chore to read. Hoping for better in the next entry in this series.

Janet Evanovich has successfully parleyed her brand of writing, and her cast of characters into Salem, where they are involved not in hunting criminals, but in hunting down rocks empowered with the seven deadly sins. Don't ass; just read, and enjoy it for what it is. Same voice actor as for the Stephanie Plum series.

This is #2 book in Lizzy and Diesel series. This time theyare looking for theluxuria stone believed by some to be infused with the power of lust. Someone mysteriously killed a Harvard University English Professor. Diesel and wulf are after the same person that is looking for the same stone that they are. I like this series as muchas the plum series.

ok...so i have not read a lot from this author...and folks have been telling me i should...and yes...i may still pick up another. i am a bit confused....if this was suppose to be a YA book then....ok...it was cute....but if this was just a regular novel...then i have to admit disappointment. i get the idea...but if you are going to go down the witch alley....then go down the alley....this read like to much fluff for my taste. it was an easy read....i didn't laugh...i didn't hate it....hope her other stuff translates better.....

Now my opinion of this one is probably coloured quite a bit by the fact that this is the first book in the series that I've read. The reason for some of the sexual tension in the book is a bit lame, if our two heroes have sex one of them (semi-randomly) will lose all power. So what do our heroes do? They sleep in the same bed. That plan has longevity going for it.The two are searching for a stone of lust, following a path of getting stones related to the seven deadly sins. While I enjoyed it, there were times the story seemed to revolve around "get characters into trouble and whacky hi-jinks ensue" and that was the first phrase that came to mind when I thought about this review "wacky hi-jinks ensue" it felt a little forced occasionally and somewhat repeditive. I didn't regreat reading it but honestly, it pushed my very liberal suspension of disbelief. Some of the characters came across as unbelievable (and I read a lot of urban fantasy but Hatchet was pathetic and I kinda half-expected Wulf to start twirling moustaches...) and just a bit off. A library read and I did find it diverting but I'm not rushing out to get the next book in the series, if book 1 hadn't been available in the library I wouldn't have been heartbroken to just leave it there.

2nd in the Diesel and Lizzy series. I enjoyed this one more than Wicked Appetite. It had more laugh out loud moments for me. Good summer time read while waiting on the next Stephanie Plum book.

Lizzy has a cute little house and a job she loves, baking cupcakes. All should be right with her world, except that she appears to be one of only two people who can sense magical objects. And the hunt for those magical objects is heating up, almost as much as Lizzy's libido when she looks at Diesel, her partner in the hunt.I'm not quite as enchanted with Evanovich's Lizzy and Diesel novels as with her Stephanie Plum books. Maybe the supernatural elements mixed in just require too much suspension of disbelief. It's a funny, fast read, but I still had to push myself to finish it.

Although they are set in completely different locations and have completely different characters and plots, the Lizzy and Diesel books bear a certain resemblance to the Stephanie Plum series that catapulted Evanovich to fame. There is the really hot boyfriend, Diesel, who is basically off-limits. In this book, several cars were torched and destroyed. Instead of a hamster, we have a cute monkey named Carl who makes a variety of sounds. Clara, the owner of the bakery, puts me in the mind of Stephanie's long-suffering parents. But, there are differences, too. Instead of criminals, Diesel and Lizzy are chasing after tablets and stones on a quest to save the world. The book is entertaining in spots, but it's really pretty silly when you think about it. Mostly, the best part of it is the monkey. As usual, the print is large, and it reads very rapidly. It's a good time-killer for a summer weekend.

While I'm quite fond of Diesel in the Between The Numbers books for the Stephanie Plum series, the novels in which he takes a starring role leave a bit to be desired. The introduction of a supernatural element is entertaining, but a great deal of the jokes seem to fall flat, and the plotline seems strained and not as easy to sink one's teeth into. That being said, it's an enjoyable read, especially for travel. This book falls firmly into the category of what an old professor used to call "brain Doritos"; light, fun reading, with no real brain activity required.

Enjoyable read. Glad I had read the first book in this installment. Some books are not a stand a lone, this one isn't. One will need to read that first book. So yes I am ready for the next book. Sometimes its just nice to have a book that's just cute. Lorelei does and good job on the audio.

Wicked Business is a nice story that was written for fun. There are good people who are out on adventures to beat the bad people to get the prize. It is just written for fun. Highly recommended for an escape. The book received four stars in this review for its fun and charming story.

There’s not a lot here that’s different than the first book. I did enjoy the visit to historic places. Unfortunately, the monkey hasn’t gotten any better. Can the monkey just take a vacation? Please? Honestly, this story is sort of a big scavenger hunt, but it’s okay for book candy.

I am starting to love this series already!

Diesel is still a hottie, but I'm liking Wulf more and more! And Wulf's henchman is frickin hilarious!!!

I was a bit disappointed, since this book dealt with the sin of lust... I thought getting a hold of the lust stone would put Diesel and Lizzy in a precarious situation they'd have to fight to deal with, but it was all sort of blown over :(

    Even still... LOVE IT!
