Chloe Ledet grew up in the shadow of her larger-than-life father, a famous chef and New Orleans restaurateur. When Chef Julien falls ill, he decides to finally publish his secret recipes - a decision his financial partners vehemently oppose. As her father lies dying, Chloe earnestly searches for the source of Julien's special seasonings. Dodging the desperate efforts of those who absolutely do not want the secrets revealed, Chloe realizes that the closer she gets to the source, the more danger she encounters! Framed for murder, Chloe's prayers become more fervent. Can she safely trust the mysterious Cajun leading her on a cat-and-mouse escape through the very heart of Cajun country? - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Another winner! Really enjoy Mindy’s books. Great tales with a historical bent, some thrills, romance and an overall pleasant listening experience. Definitely proof positive that oversexed scenes and swearing really do not enhance or make for good reading.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Excellent! Excellent!!! Excellent!!!!!
Kept my interest from the first page to the last. Beautifully brought in the truth of the Bible. I will be reading more of her books. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I hadn't heard of this author before but saw it on the e-book/ audiobook service I use ( Scribd) and it was one of the unlimited listless so I thought I'd try it. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked it. There are two parallel stories. One modern and the other in the 1700's that tie together at the end. I felt like I learned much about Louisiana and the cajun people. I would definitely read more by this author
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Unusual story which bounces back and forth from 1700's to modern time. Involves a complicated murder case and mysterious buried treasure of golden statuettes. A bit overly complicated for my tastes; but well written with odd ball twists and turns. An interesting look at cajun culture.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Deliciously mysterious and romantic. Another superb from Mindy Starns Clark. Read it. I highly recommend it.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is yet another very entertaining mystery by Mindy Starns Clark. It takes place is New Orleans. I love how in her last couple of books Mindy ties a current day mystery into a story from the past. It's a lot of fun to follow the two stories along to see how they tie together in the end.
