I really love the character of Jonas, and I know that people hated this book, I can see where they're coming from. Jonas has a personality in the beginning and end of the book, but in the middle he's kind of blah. Also, people hate his mate, I can totally see that, I didn't hate her, but I didn't love, love her either. There were times where she was absolutely great, but there were other times where she was really annoying. The absolutely great outweighed the annoying in my view. It was rather the same as Jonas, she was great in the beginning and the end, but awful in the middle.

I love Jonas!! I really wanted to love his mate but sadly found her lacking. She seemed a bit too gentle for the conniving breed. Overall an enjoyable read but not an absolute fav. I was hoping for a Jonas and Ellie match.

Lora Leigh is back on her game!I've been in love with Jonas Wyatt since he first came on the scene in Harmony's Way (an otherwise less than stellar addition to the series). Since LL tends to be hit or miss, I was so afraid she wouldn't do Jonas justice, but rest assured, she knocked it out of the park with this one!Jonas Wyatt, The bogeyman of the Bureau of Breed Affairs, knows his office assistant, the cool headed Rachel Broen, is his one chance for happiness. With the kind of glaring red target painted him for any fool bent on the destruction of the Breeds to take a shot at-she’s the one chance he cannot take.So he keeps her at arms distance through most of their relationship, even while his heart is drawn ever closer to the kindhearted but stubborn willed woman who is his match in every way- until a kidnapping of the baby daughter he’s claimed as his own threatens the ruthless control he’s kept over the primal lion that lurks just below the surface.Someone is after the mated pairs and their offspring- and he'll stop at nothing to get what he wants!Lion’s Heat had me from page one. Jonas knows from the beginning that Rachel is his one true mate, but he’s so afraid of claiming her, he doesn’t let her in on the information. The mating heat, a familiar characteristic in Lora Leigh’s gene spliced crossbreeds, is all on him through much of this book, which makes for an interesting turnabout. I loved his ruthless control and I loved how Rachel threatened all of that!Rachel and Jonas work well together- as a couple and as business team, for that matter. Their instant chemistry, as well as the love between her baby and Jonas, make Lion’s Heat quite a heartwarming book! I enjoyed seeing Jonas finally being able to soften and allow the noble hero that I’ve always sensed him to be to shine forth.I would have liked to see more detail in the beginning of their relationship- (much of his softening toward her is glossed over with rapid time passage)- because there had to be some major sparks there! But it in no way lessons my love for this book so- 5 out of 5 from me!Thankfully, much of the editing issues that have so annoyed me in some of Leigh's recent releases are miraculously missing... although she does quite a bit of "head hopping" throughout the book. Still, in the end, I can only say- very pleased!

I really liked Jonas' story. I like that there's another child involved before the mating like with Dash's story. I like how completely Rachel changes Jonas' outlook on life and how to responds to other people. The drama with Amber's father added some adrenaline to the story, while whatever Brandenmore did to Amber added some mystery and intrigue. I look forward to seeing Jonas and Rachel in future books, and can not WAIT to see who it is that Ely has mated! Though on that note, this is the first book where Ely truly made me angry.

I was really looking forward to Jonas's story but I'm sorry to say it didn't hold up to my expectations at all. Jonas wasn't Jonas in it. He felt like a totally different character. Which is sad really because he is my favorite of all of them. And his mate was a bore. Her sister would have made for a better match.

I like the Breed book though one thing that I don't like is all the sex. OMG tone it back some Ms. Leigh. You think up great stories and write them well you don't need all that sex in each and every book.

I loved the book, but the editor and proofreader need to do a better job! There are places where there are 2 people and in the next line there are 3...there are numerous mispellings, and "he"'s where there should be "she"s...it took some of the enjoyment out of the book. Still a good book tho!

Rachel's life is turned upside down, when her daughter is taken from her, and knows there is only one breed who can help her, for his plans are what has caused danger to her daughter in the first place. Jonas, knows that Rachel is his mate, but has refused in claiming her for his own, but now a infant, whom he considers as his own, is put at risk, and will do everything he can to protect them both. Even though Jonas knows that Rachel is part of his destiny, he knows he needs her love, and will fight with every weapon he has in order to have theirs be a loving even though heated bond....only he must convince Rachel of his devotion....Lions Heat is the 21 in the Breeds series by Lora Leigh. I have read this book when it first came out, but I have been a lot of this series lately, and Lion's Heat has always been one of my favorites to read, and last week I was in the mood to read Lion's Heat, especially since I had yet to do a review for the book. Lion's Heat is a thrilling and intense story filled with heat, intrigue and danger, and a romance of two people that are meant to be but fight to deny it in the process. I just love Jonas, even though he is pure alpha male, but worse is that he is very controlling on every situation and can be very manipulative. However he has met his match with Rachel, who can be just as manipulative, but still has a endearing quality about her, that you can't help but cheer her on. There was such magic to this story that you can't help but keep reading from beginning to end without putting it down. A THRILLING TALE!!!!

This volume in Lora Leigh's Breeds series is a pretty good entrant -- unlike many of the other books in the series she published around the time of this one, it doesn't feel totally phoned in, maybe because the character of Jonas had received a lot of fleshing out in earlier volumes, or because of the build-up from the volumes. Either way, there was a bit more of a high-stakes plot, central to the ongoing plot threads; the characters had some interest; and the writing had a bit more polish. You know, these books are what they are, but as these things go, this one's not so bad.

Jonas' book at last. I have waited a long time for Jonas' story. Ms. Leigh didn't disappoint either. I love Jonas Wyatt even when he has been manipulated everyone to do what he left was in their best interest. I have always known that he might be a real hardass with his enemies he really did care for those around them. I was gald to see that he came to terms with his family and found a ready made family of his own with Rachel and the baby. There is a lot of suspense with this story. I so wanted to jump to the last chapter to see what happened. I was also glad to see an old enemy finally captured. There are still quite a few out there but this was one that was long overdue to be brought down. It is too bad that there is a volcano somewhere with his name on it. I really like this series of books and look forward to reading each new book that comes out.
