About this audiobook

When a stalker ratchets up his attempts to get to her, cable sex talk show host Morgan O'Malley turns to Jack Cole-a self-proclaimed dominant-for help. Though Jack is a bodyguard, Morgan feels anything but safe in his presence. Because slowly and seductively, Jack is bringing her deepest fantasies to the surface. And when he bends her to his will, what's more shocking than her surrender is how much she enjoys it and how she starts to crave his masterful touch. A willing player in Jack's games, Morgan knows that his motives aren't pure. But she has no idea how personal they are.

Move over and to the back Fifty Shades. This is the book to introduce anyone into the BDSM fantasy world that should’ve gone viral. The way things are explained, the thought process of the characters, the development, comical parts, the impending threat, all great ingredients for a suspenseful dramatic romance. I loved this book and continued to read the whole series. I own all but one in paperback; they are shamelessly displayed on my bookshelf.

This book has it all. Morgan is a host of a cable sex talk show and finds Jack in a chat room when looking for more information for her next segment. Jack actually hunted Morgan down for his own personal vendetta, but she has no idea of the connection they share. When there is a threat to Morgan’s life right away, Jack springs into action to protect her. He doesn’t want her to die on his watch, no matter his motives for meeting her. Things definitely develop to intense between these two when they are hiding out for safety in a small cabin off the grid…

Morgan is being introduced to a new world she has only read or heard about and it has the stigma of being completely taboo. As Jack is showing Morgan different elements, the reader is learning more as well. I love how this author goes into so much detail on the emotional aspect of the relationship, there is so much more to the BDSM world than whips and handcuffs. The bottom line for these relationships is the trust between the partners, it gives the connection between them so many deep layers. You get wrapped up in how these characters develop their own feelings as well as the feelings for each other.

I fell in love with this book and the characters. It made me fascinated with the concept of Dominant/Submissive. The side characters were intriguing enough, you know they will have their own stories and you can’t wait to find out more. This is book 1 of 12, and there are quite a few novellas in between. There is also a spin-off series that I need to catch up on… This is a whole universe of interconnected people just waiting for you to get lost in!

Good read. But the story was a bit flawed.

This was fun. There were some places where it seemed to all happen a bit too quickly (especially getting over emotional events) but it was an enjoyable read in the end which truthfully is what's most important.

The premise of the story was good. I liked Jack being a bodyguard and Megan being the host of a cable show with questions about her sexuality who comes to interview him as a dom. When she is stalked and attacked I would expect the police to be involved, particularly when shots are fired in public (but then I suppose there wouldn't be a story). What I found frustrating and then irritating was both their almost instantaneous deep love, their constant misinterpretations of what the other is saying or feeling, and the ridiculous choices they make based on those misinterpretations in the midst of a dangerous stalking situation. A simple "what do you mean?" could have cleared up a lot of their problems.

STEAMY....HOT....EROTIC...TORRID...TERRIFIC!!! I loved just about everything about this book. My one and only complaint is that it ended. I didn't want to leave the erotic world that Shayla Black created for me, and my only solace is that there are more books to "come" in Wicked Lovers series. Bravo Ms. Black....

Good enough story and the characters were really good, especially Deke and Morgan. Jack was a first class jerk sometimes. I don't really like all the BDSM scene, so not my kind of book. But to those who do like it, give this book a try. :)

I loved the beginning and some parts of the end of this book - but the middle niggled on me.

For once thing, his internal conflict seemed contrived. We are told he wants revenge, we are told he feels guilty but until page 100 we are not shown it. And even from then onwards it remains, emotionally, a vague concept. Then there are some inconsistency issues which really bothered me. He walks out on her without a word after they have had sex for the first time - and she does not show even a smidgen of anger? None. When the day before she exploded into his face every time he spoke? But there are also sexual inconsistencies that bother me. We are constantly told she is afraid - but she shows no signs of it when they are actually having sex. And what man ties up a woman when she is asleep and then does not show at least some form of vigilance when she wakes up as to the possibility she might panic? The list goes on...

Even with the inconsistencies and little annoyances, I liked the book. It was a quick easy read - just don't expect to read it without a frown or two.

First off let me say that I love the Dominant/submissive genre very much. I have read a number of books in this category and have found very few that I haven’t enjoyed. Second I have read other books by Shayla Black and I have loved each one of them. Third Ms. Black is a delightful storyteller with a wick imagination and an ability to write enduring characters that the reader comes to love. All this being said I had a little trouble with this story. To begin with I have tried to read this book in the past. I didn't get through it the first time. I came close to throwing the book at the wall. Obviously I wasn't in the right frame of mind at the time. I did get through the story this time and for the most part I liked the story and the characters. I guess like family there are always characters that make you want to take them out and read them the riot act occasionally.Jack Cole is a to die for Dominant. He is ex-special forces and 100% alpha male. He is also a wounded soul that is on a course of destruction if he can’t come to grips with the betrayal of his wife and best friend. He is so torn up with the need for revenge it almost loses him the woman that he has come to love. He commits the biggest sin in a D/s relationship he lies to his submissive. He breaks the trust that is so essential in this type of relationship. He comes to his senses but not before making me want to Gibbs slap him.Morgan O'Malley is a good Catholic girl that host a cable network show titled TURN ME ON. Morgan is like so many of us. She has some racy fantasies that those that she loves have turned into something dirty. She is ashamed of the desires that dominated her dreams and sometimes her daydreams. The one thing that saves her in this story is that she is curious. Those fantasies come to life with Jack Cole. With patience and understanding and just a little bit of ruthlessness he shows Morgan what she has been missing. Slowly she realizes that she isn't depraved or amoral and she embraces her submissive nature. Morgan isn't a push over though. She is a strong, independent woman that isn't afraid to stand up to Jack when she has to.This story is complicated by a stalker that is determined to have Morgan or to kill her so no one else can claim her. While the stalker wasn't a complete surprise he wasn't the main suspect on the list. There is also Jack’s revenge against his offer best friend, Brandon Ross who is Morgan’s half-brother. Jack thinks that Morgan is engaged to Brandon and therefore the prefect vehicle for his revenge. What is the saying “What a tangle web we weave when we first attempt to deceive”? That is what this story is a tangled web of deceit.Things work out the end as they always do. The stalker is caught and the truth comes out. There are hurt feelings of the deception and guilt for the lies. This is a good story it just crosses a line that I have a problem with and it isn't a reason to not read the book if you enjoy this genre. Ms. Black writes some intense and steamy sex scenes. They will leave you wanting more and you are probably going to need a bucket of ice water to cool off. So go read the book and enjoy the story.

I tried hard to like this book, since I went out and bought the entire series as well as two others of a similar style - all at once to the tune of $200 - I've had to read it over time, and pick up other books in between because of the relentless repetitiveness of what's happening in this one. Potentially intriguing characters get lost amid scenes of very non-erotic sexual activity. All in all, if you like a lot of sex with little emotional investment, you'll love this book - I can't say series, because I don't know if the others are a repeat performance of this one, but.... if they are, save your money if you want an engaging story, and look for a different author. Shayla Black is good at what she does, but in small doses for this reader.

Wicked ties was a great.. smoking hot erotic novel. I loved the kink.. could've done without the whole BDSM- D/s explanation, but it wasn't too bad.

Very wicked, but in a good way. If you're a fan of BD/SM novels then this is a must read. This is tamer than anything I've read before, but it was very well written and Shayla Black captured the emotions of both main characters perfectly. I couldn't help but feel sorry for Jack throughout the story. At least Morgan was able to teach him a thing or two, so the lessons weren't just one-sided. You'll need a VERY cold shower after reading this one, but the good news is that there are more books in this series to warm you right up again.

About the book:She didn’t know what she wanted until he made her beg for it...Morgan O’Malley has seen a lot of kinky things as the hostess of a cable sex talk show. But she’s never met a man like Jack Cole before. A self-proclaimed dominant, he’s as alpha as a male can get–and good for Morgan to have around when an obsessed stalker ratchets up his attempts to get to her.Though Jack is a bodyguard, Morgan feels anything but safe in his presence. Because slowly and seductively, Jack is bringing her deepest fantasies to the surface. And when he bends her to his will, what’s more shocking than her surrender is how much she enjoys it–and starts to crave his masterful touch. A willing player in Jack’s games, Morgan knows that his motives aren’t pure, but she has no idea how personal they are…Review:Holy crow, where to start? This book….WOW. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by it. Now yes, it is pretty much an erotica romance, but in my own opinion this book was very well written, provided enough action, comedy, and HOT steamy scenes that no one thing out did the other. Morgan is a late night talk show host for a show called “Turn Me On.” This show bases its foundation on different types of sexual relationships. The ironic thing behind it is Morgan isn’t all that experienced and through a series of unfortunate events has learned to push down and ignore her cravings.Jack, oh holy crow, how to describe Jack. Without giving the great parts of the book away, I can say Jack is someone that agrees to do a segment on her show, in terms of BDSM. Apparently no woman has ever been able to turn him down and they all often submit to him. Morgan provides a challenge to Jack, one he is all too “happy” to explore. This book had quite a few steamy sex scenes, never over the top, despite the use of certain words that I often frown upon. However, it was very well written, Ms. Black is a God when it comes to descriptive writing and it is full of everything you will be looking for in your next book.I whole heartily give Wicked Ties five stars out of five!

I go into Shayla Black's books fully aware that I am going to get lots of sexytimes at the expense of a severe drought of believable characters and plot. Okay, whatevs. Win some, lose some. The obvious tooliness of the premise (Morgan gets a *gasppp* dangerous stalker and Jack whisks her off to three days of hot hot sexytimes in a swamp in the middle of nowhere, where this stalker, despite his previous lack of hesitance at getting uncomfortably close to Morgan--he SHOOTS BULLETS at her on a busy street in the middle of the day--does not manage to find them) and the more-than-occasional fantastical nature of the characters' thoughts or dialogue (e.g. Jack: "I love her more than I ever realized I could love a person in my life. The sun and the moon don't shine half so bright without her lustrous hair beside my face on the pillow") are things that must be born for the sexytimes. Fortunately, the book gets right into the SUPERSEXE, thank God, meaning that you don't have to wait to long to get to what you're obviously reading this book for.The funny thing is, I blazed through three-quarters of this book in one night, feverishly reading on to get to the good parts (I fully admit to skimming over the non-sexytime scenes because, yawn, who's reading for plot here? and also, where's the plot?). I wanted to finish the book in one sitting, but it was 4am and I had to wake up for work the next morning and I could barely keep my eyes open. And yet I practically had to force myself to finish the book when I had the chance to pick it up again 2 nights later. I don't know what left me in those 48 hours. But suddenly Jack's ultra-cheesy man-in-love-for-the-first-time monologues got lame and he lost his appeal for me, and even though by that point in the book Morgan had gotten over her INCREDIBLY ANNOYING self-punitive internal monologue regarding her inability to come to terms with her sexual desires (I get it, I get it, people are self-loathing, but I just was totally not feeling it in a character I didn't really care for), in the end I was just like... meh. So you guys are together now. Good for you. I think I'm going to go toast some waffles or something.Still, 3 stars for the fun sexytimes in the first three-quarters of the book.

Awful book, badly written and even the sex scenes were boring, but worse was the hero taping and distributing their first sex scene to her putative fiance (in reality her secret half brother) and I kept thinking, this is no hero. Somethings are unforgivable.
