About this audiobook

In 2007, Chrissie Wellington shocked the triathlon world by winning the Ironman World Championships in Hawaii. As a newcomer to the sport and a complete unknown to the press, Chrissie's win shook up the sport. A LIFE WITHOUT LIMITS is the story of her rise to the top, a journey that has taken her around the world, from a childhood in England, to the mountains of Nepal, to the oceans of New Zealand, and the trails of Argentina, and first across the finish line.

Wellington's first-hand, inspiring story includes all the incredible challenges she has faced-- from anorexia to near-drowning to training with a controversial coach. But to Wellington, the drama of the sports also presents an opportunity to use sports to improve people's lives.

A LIFE WITHOUT LIMITS reveals the heart behind Wellington's success, along with the diet, training and motivational techniques that keep her going through one of the world's most grueling events.

Very inspiring. Loved listening to it while doing my morning walk/run. Her journey has been amazing. She overcame a lot of injuries and adversities in her journey towards her Ironman championships. Highly motivating.

This was a really wonderful, positive memoir by an amazing young woman. I'm a marathoner and boy, did she inspire me. I'm almost a different runner now and the difference is, she showed me how to believe in myself. Not just say it, and sign up for the run and all, but be it. But I don't think you have to be into running, swimming or cycling to appreciate the incredible hard work (often against some serious odds), sacrifice and dedication it took Wellington to win Kona four times, among many other ironman-distance triathalons. Her story as a young person is also inspiring and interesting as she is someone who believes in making the world a better place and, in fact does. I think this book would just be wonderful for any young woman struggling with body image issues, self esteem and falling prey to thinking she cannot do it on her own in this world. When so many young women feel they have no image without a boyfriend, husband, etc., here comes Wellington who for a decade plus was richer in friends than anyone I know and also, waited for the right guy, not just any guy. The writing isn't all that hot in places (and repetitive too), but that said, I still recommend this highly. I flew through it, learned a lot and got mightily inspired to boot. She is taking off Kona 2012, but boy, I now want to go watch the Ironman in Hawai'i! I would love watching her compete.

It's nice to read a memoir that doesn't scream "I am the greatest. No one will ever be better than me!" Chrissie Wellington meets my definition of a true champion: an amazing athlete and a good human being. If you're looking for some interesting stories and a good dose of inspiration, this is the book for you.
