About this audiobook

Twelve-year-old Annabel thought Christmas break was going to be amazing. She'd planned to stay home in New York City with her best friend and do traditional things like go ice-skating in Rockefeller Center, hit the after-Christmas sale at Bloomingdale' s, and scream with the TRL crowd at MTV in Times Square. But when her best friend bails, Annabel's mom decides it's high time Annabel visit her father and his new family in Australia.

Annabel is not pleased about traveling around the world to meet "the steps"-twelve-year-old fashion-disaster stepsister, five-year-old stepbrother, and baby half sister-but she's not going to waste this chance to steal her father back.

This story explains how children who have divorced parents feel. Annabel has never met her stepbrothers and sisters, but she already hates them. Her dad sent pictures to her of Lucy and Angus, his wives children. She thought of all the reasons why to hate them. She picked on Lucy’s clothes, she hated the way they called Jack, ‘dad’, she thought of all the reasons of why to hate her stepfamily. She hated them because, they lived in a cottage, they had no idea what fashion was, and more. She even hated them for living in Australia! She thought it was weird how it was summer in December and how the Australians drive on the left side. She picks on every little detail but slowly she realizes that there is a good side in everyone.
