About this audiobook

Living in peaceful Shady Vale, Shea Ohmsford knew little of the troubles that plagued the rest of the world. Then the giant, forbidding Allanon revaled that the supposedly dead Warlock Lord was plotting to destory the world. The sole weapon against this Power of Darkness was the Sword of Shannara, which could only be used by a true heir of Shannara--Shea being the last of the bloodline, upon whom all hope rested. Soon a Skull Bearer, dread minion of Evil, flew into the Vale, seeking to destroy Shea. To save the Vale, Shea fled, drawing the Skull Bearer after him....

2.5 stars. I don't know. It's not bad but the characters just bored me. They're very one dimensional.

Continues the story of the children of Shannara. This is all about Walker Boh's quest to find the black elfstone and to restore Paranor. We are introduced to a new character, Quickening. The ending was semi-predictable, but it was interesting.

Terry Brooks follows the same pattern in each episode of a series. He takes up to 100 pages to get in motion, explain all the characters, relationships and history. If you manage that far, you're in for one heck of a read.

This book has to be my all time favorite of Terry's. It covers the main adventures of Walker Boh, and how he must recover the black elfstone. It's brilliantly written, with memorable characters, such as Pe Ell and Quickening, and a great storyline that keeps you on the edge of your seat. So go Read it! Ready? Set? Go!

Great narrator! I enjoyed the battle description, it reminded me of Town Towers - LOTR.

It actually benefitted from being abriged! Having never finished this book or any other Shannara novel due to their length (brought by volumous not needed details) it was a nice surprise! Therfore - 5 stars for a great story!
