About this audiobook

With the same wicked humor and delicious charm that have won her millions of devoted fans, Sophie Kinsella, author of the #1 New York Times bestseller Shopaholic & Baby, returns with an irresistible new novel.

When twenty-eight-year-old Lexi Smart wakes up in a London hospital, she's in for a big surprise. Her teeth are perfect. Her body is toned. Her handbag is Vuitton. Having survived a car accident, Lexi has lost a big chunk of her memory, three years to be exact, and she's about to find out just how much things have changed. Somehow Lexi went from a twenty-five-year-old working girl to a corporate big shot with a sleek new loft, a personal assistant, a carb-free diet, and a set of glamorous new friends. And who is this gorgeous husband-who also happens to be a multimillionaire? With her mind still stuck three years in reverse, Lexi greets this brave new world determined to be the person she . . . well, seems to be. That is, until an adorably disheveled architect drops the biggest bombshell of all.

Suddenly Lexi is scrambling to catch her balance. Her new life, it turns out, comes complete with secrets, schemes, and intrigue. How on earth did all this happen? Will she ever remember? And what will happen when she does?

Sophie Kinsella is quite the genius. Remember Me? has succeeded at making me even a bigger fan of hers. I think it would be hard to ever top the brilliance of the Shopaholic books, which I adore, but Remember Me? takes a good stab at it. I'm only sorry I didn't manage to get my hands on this book sooner but I'm also sorry that it's finished because I did not want it to end.

Remember Me? contains all the ridiculous, cute and expected humour that I'm used to from Sophie Kinsella yet manages to be a completely unique story. I really grew to like Lexi Smart as a character and felt well connected to her by the end of the book. Her characterization is very realistic and I really felt like I knew her as a person. I wasn't too sold on her for the first 20 pages or so but then it really picked up pace and I literally could not put the book down. I was so drawn into Lexi's world and I just had to know what on earth was going to happen next!

I felt so impatient throughout this whole book but not in a bad way. I was just excited and captivated. I was completely intrigued and dying to know how everything would work out for Lexi. Every interaction with the minor characters held my interest and I seriously enjoyed getting to know Jon- and Eric, actually! I loved how we were given just enough detail to keep us guessing but we weren't told everything right up front. I found my mind working very fast to figure out who was good and who was bad. Just as I'd have it figured out, Kinsella would hit me with another shock!

Remember Me? was just plain fun. I love Kinsella's books because she creates a whole world that I can get lost in. I could not handle setting this book down for one minute and was so sad when it was all over. I loved this book and can't wait to see what else Kinsella can give us.

Lexi Smart wakes up in the hospital after a car crash and discovers that she doesn't remember the last three years of her life. To her astonishment, her present life is a dream come true.I enjoyed the concept - amnesia, but I didn't enjoy the repetition of it and the drawn out scenes. The book could have been half the size. While the characters were okay and there were some grinning moments, I still like the Shopaholic series much more. (3.25/5)Originally posted on: "Thoughts of Joy..."

Story was a little bit of a stretch, believability-wise, but entertaining. Audiobook narrator was great.

An ordinary young woman with frizzy hair and snaggle-teeth who enjoyed clubbing with her friends, wakened up after an accident to find she has completely forgotten the last three years. She is now svelte, beautifully manicured, her mouth filled with sparkling veneers, married to a millionaire and best of all, not just an employee, but the boss. She has no idea how she reached this success and lost her friends along the way. And of course, because she can't remember, she is told any tale that suits the teller. It's pretty far-fetched and a bit thin on the promised humour but would fill an afternoon at the beach.

A reread. One of my fav Kinsella titles, though I hadn't read it in awhile. Her romance with John is one of the best, and I will never forget //loft-style living//

This is one of my favourites. I love Sophie's humour and the way she describes things. I lent the book from a friend, and Sophie immediately became one of my favourite authors. Remember Me? makes you question your choices in life and makes you wonder: If you had the chance to change your past, would you? What would you change? It's also thought-provoking. Makes me wanna get Sophie's entire work. ;)

I love this author and will admit that I purposely "listen" to her books because the accent makes the writing truly come to life. I am blessed to have a job where I can listen to books while I work and this one gave me smiles during rather tense budget times. Thanks!

I really enjoyed this! It's a fun, fast-paced read with a splash of romance. I love the concept of this book. Girl hits rock bottom, wishes her life would improve and wakes up with everything she could ever ask for and some amnesia. I liked watching her put the pieces of the puzzle together to figure out how she got from point A to point C. This is up there as one of my favorite Kinsella novels!

True to form, Kinsella delivers her signature humor, smart dialogue and totally relatable characters in this amnesiac adventure. When Lexi Smart wakes up in a posh private wing of a London hospital, the last thing she can remember is falling down a flight of steps while chasing a taxi after a long, disappointing day in which she is stood up for a date, overlooked for a bonus and emotionally wearied by her own unremarkable life. The only hitch is that night happened three years prior, and in the interim she has apparently pulled her act together, made herself over, picked up a hot multi-millionaire husband and alienated all her old friends with her driving ambition. She sets off to rediscover her recent past and figure out who she really is, and in the meantime learns some surprising truths about who she thought she was.Kinsella writes Lexi with the same girl-next-door appeal as her Shopaholic series, voicing her self-doubts, getting her into embarrassing scrapes and delineating her charachter with true-to-life emotions until she could be any one of us. It's easy to identify with Lexi's initial wonder at her beautiful new life, her helpless confusion at being held accountable for a past she can't remember, and her gradual reawakening as she finds her past is secondary in importance to what she does with her present. It's not a generation-defining bestseller, but compared to most of the offerings in the ever more annoying ChickLit genre, it's smart, funny and an entertaining read.

This was a quick fun read. I always enjoy those stories where the female wakes up from some kind of accident and finds herself living a completely different life, probably because subconsciously (or even consciously) I would myself love to suddenly wake up thin, beautiful, and rich! Remember me is fairly predictable but still such a fun read with plenty of laugh out loud moments and without those jarring instances of cheesy dialog that I always seem to run into in these types of books. This is, I believe, the first book I've read by Sophie Kinsella although I know I have several of her books on my shelf, so I'm looking forward to enjoying more of her writing. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone looking for something light and entertaining.

Confession… This is my first Sophie Kinsella book. I like to read books in order and I haven’t been able to get to the first Shopaholic book so yes, I was a Kinsella virgin. Maybe because I do not have any of her other books to compare this one, I loved it. Admittedly it wasn’t deep or too thought provoking, but sometimes that is exactly what one needs. I sped through it and I will be reading more of her books soon.

Audio-I got this because I was looking for a finny book to exercise too. It was not funny, not to me. It had a sad feeling. Lexi lost her memory, the last 3 years gone. Her whole life has changed, she's married to a man she does not know. She has a job she can't remember. Her friends have all changed. She has changed into somebody she does not like or understand. She wakes up and thinks she has the dream life, she's rich, her husband is handsome, she's a big boss now...but it's not all that it seems.
    I found it heartbreaking.

A cute story about Lexi who wakes up after a car accident missing her memories from 2004-2007, which is exactly the amount of time it took for her to change from snaggletooth to the cobra. The story has a semi-predictable plot with a few twists and turns but enough character development that I was left feeling rather sad that I wouldn't be part of Lexi's life anymore.

This was my first Sophie Kinsella book, so I wasn't really sure what to expect. I loved it! The writing was very funny, and I found myself laughing out loud several times. The story went a very different direction from what I was expecting which is always a nice surprise. I really liked and felt for the main character; she had many uncomfortable situations to deal with. It would be so difficult to wake up three years in the future and to not like the person you'd become. It was such a sweet story with a little mystery thrown in there. Like I said, I laughed a lot while reading this book! (Also, Doctor Who was mentioned in it which automatically makes it more awesome!) I will definitely be reading more of Sophie Kinsella's works.

This was the absolute perfect summer read for me just now. Imagine waking up one day to discover it is several years later, and when you look in the mirror you have no idea who the person is looking back at you, your appearance has so drastically changed. Meet Lexi Smart who wakes up in a Cinderella world, only to discover appearances can be deceiving. Lexi needs to piece her world back together to get to the heart of who she has become. Of all of Sophie Kinsella's books I believe this one is now my favorite.

This was almost 5-stars for me. I love Kinsella's writing style, and how she weaves themes like family responsibility, getting what you want, and can women be both successful and liked as bosses, into her highly entertaining novels.
My gripes were minor. I didn't quite buy into Lexi's (forgotten) transformation from hapless girl-next-door into bitch boss from hell, but I adored how she 'wakes up' to her new life and is so impressed by it, she thinks she's done seriously good deeds in a former life: "I must have been Gandhi"! And, although it's not unusual in a book of this type to guess which guy she'll end up with, a certain style of shoe worn by Mr. Wrong did seem to give the game away incredibly early :)
I would have loved Mr Nasty at work to have got his just desserts, and, as a keen runner myself, I was bemused that Lexi's husband, who does the London Marathon every year, never went for a single training run in the whole book.
But really, these points are picky. Lexi is a highly likeable heroine. I truly did enjoy this and strongly recommend it to fans or those new to her work.

vLexi is out for an evening with her mates, in 2004. Running for a taxi, she slips and falls... and wakes up in hospital, in 2007. Or so it seems. She is suffering partial amnesia which means that the events of the previous three years have totally gone from her mind.

To her amazement, Lexi discovers that she's married to a rather gorgeous millionaire, and is now a director in the company she was working for in 2004. She even has a slimmer, bronzed body, perfect teeth and a manicure.

But all is not as great as it seems. Lexi's friends no longer want to know her. Her little sister has turned into a teenage trouble-maker. She's apparently become a strict, controlling unpopular boss. Her husband is very picky about their fabulous home, and rather dull. And then there's Jon, who she finds rather disturbing...

I'm always slightly surprised at how much I enjoy Sophia Kinsella's novels. This one is slightly more serious than her others, but no less enjoyable. I read it almost in one sitting - wondering how the author could get Lexi from her casual 25-year-old self into the transformed 28-year-old who is both loved and hated, and whom she simply can't recognise as herself.

It's very cleverly done, gradually unfolding more of the past from different perspectives, building up a surprisingly believable picture.

Four and a half stars, really.

Remember Me? by Sophie Kinsella is a standalone romantic comedy by the author best known for her Shopaholic series. In it Lexi is trying to peace together the events of the last three years of her life after waking up in hospital with amnesia.Lexi's last memory is getting in a fight with Loser Dave and falling off the curb after a night of drinking. Now she finds herself married to a real estate developer, living in a posh London flat, the director at a carpeting store and with a whole new set of friends. To confuse things even more, she apparently has a lover on the side — giving her two men who vying to be the one to awaken her memories. The set up is a bit hokey but Lexi is such a well rounded, believable and sympathetic character that I was willing to go with the set up. Following through with Lexi on her quest to connect with her old friends, to sort out her marriage and to figure out the truth about the possible affairs was completely fascinating and addicting.Remember Me? though isn't a fantasy romp. Lexi doesn't use her opportunity to stay perpetually 24. Instead, she does her best to be the 27-year-old she was before the accident. There are some heart wrenching scenes too as she tries to come to terms with suddenly (from her current state of mind) being older and changed.
