At the behest of POTUS, our heroes Stone and Dino work a case in DC. The title is apropos, as everyone they touch gets dead. Interaction between Stone and Dino is always fun listening: "Well, this is Washington DC." This would have been a tough read without digesting the preceding books. In a side drama that relates not at all to the main theme, Teddy Fey gets a pass from Holly that will, likely, affect the continuing thread of his existence in the series. The who dun it reveal is at the end and nobody is contrite about it.

Dino and Stone frolic, and frequently, in DC as two of the many good characters in search of a plot. Reads quickly and interestingly to a point of repetition, about halfway, then limps to the end. Not his best but it will fill an hour or so; much better than watching TV.

In this story, Stone and his sidekick, Dino, are requested by the CIA to investigate a murder committed at the White House. Holly Barker joins in the fun while the guys interview witnesses and look for clues. There are the usual suspects, lots of sex, booze and fancy dinners, and a growing pile of bodies before they happen upon the killer, who neatly outwits them and escapes. Full of Mr. Wood's unique humor, this is a fast, entertaining read.

Synopsis: Stone and Dino are asked by the President and Kate to look into a murder/suicide. What they find is that the man was having multiple affairs and it looks like he did not kill his wife. More murders occur and they all link back to the original murder. Teddy Fey appears, again and wrecks a small amount of havoc. Holly makes some strategic decisions about Teddy Fey and about the murders.Review: As always, interactions between Stone and Dino are fun. The answer to 'who done it' is fairly obvious early on, but the proving it was interesting.

Love Stone Barrington and when you mix in Holly - it is win win for me.

Stone and Dino, after seeing their sons off to college, get brought to DC to re examine a murder / sucide.

Quick read...the usual murders, romance, and somewhat belief suspension plots that are the trademark of Woods' Barrington series. I read these for brief mental exercise...they have ZERO literary value.

I have never read one of Woods's books before, but I found DC Dead to be a fast, page turning read. His writing style makes it easy to keep turning the pages while making it hard to put down. It reminded me of reading books by James Patterson where the action just keeps you wanting to read. I know that this book was part of his series, but I had no problems picking it up and following everything. It would have been nice knowing a little more about the relationships Stone has with Holly and Dino because those relationships really added to the story, but I think that a new reader can still follow and enjoy. The book's mystery was good, and I think it delivered some great twists and turns surprising all three of the main characters as well as the reader. Overall this was a great read that I really enjoyed, and I already picked up two more books in this series.
