About this audiobook

So…you'd think after banishing an immortal being and a fallen High Priestess, saving Stark's life, biting Heath, getting a headache from Erik, and almost dying, Zoey Redbird would catch a break. Sadly, a break is not in the House of Night school forecast for the High Priestess in training and her gang. Juggling three guys is anything but a stress reliever, especially when one of them is a sexy Warrior who is so into protecting Zoey that he can sense her emotions.

Speaking of stress, the dark force lurking in the tunnels under the Tulsa Depot is spreading, and Zoey is beginning to believe Stevie Rae could be responsible for a lot more than a group of misfit red fledglings. Aphrodite's visions warn Zoey to stay away from Kalona and his dark allure, but they also show that it is Zoey who has the power to stop the evil immortal. Soon it becomes obvious that Zoey has no choice: if she doesn't go to Kalona he will exact a fiery vengeance on those closest to her. Will Zoey have the courage to chance losing her life, her heart, and her soul? Find out in the next spectacular installment in the House of Night Series, Tempted.

Wow! I didn't expect that ending. Great build up and I'm shocked. I'm headed immediately into the next book, because that can't be the way this goes. I'm sad, frustrated as well as hooked and intrigued.

Like the rest of this series I really enjoyed this book. Unlike other books in the series Zoey was not the focus of the book. Stevie Ray takes center stage and makes for interesting reading.

Book is good but the narrator’s voice is a bit annoying. Wish they could stick to one narrator and stop changing it from one book to another. Jenna Lamia is amazing and would have enjoyed it more if it would have been her that narrated the entire series.

Tempted is the sixth book from the House of Night Series. In this book, the dark secrets and unspoken suspicions come between Zoey and Stevie Rae, putting their friendship and the House of Night at risk. Even though Zoey and her gang have banished Kalona and Neferet from Tulsa, you'd think they would catch a break. Zoey and her warrior Stark have to recover from a brush with death, while the fledglings are truggling to deal with the fallout from Neferet's reign of terror, a break is just not in the forecast. These books, sometimes I wonder if the series is ever going to end, but then I read these books and I get sucked back into Zoey's world, her life, her problems, and I can't hate it one bit. I don't know if I could write a series with this many books so I give them props for keeping it going. I love that. I highly recommend this book anyone that enjoys a book vampire read.(But read the series in order so you aren't lost, the books build on the previous book).

I read this for the "A Book That Makes You Mad" part of my 2019 reading challenge. I dislike this book and I dislike the series and I dislike the dumbed-down teen speak and the uber dramatic characters and all their boyfriend drama.

3.5 starsThis is the 6th book in the House of Night series. ******SPOILERS IF YOU HAVEN"T READ BOOK 5*****Everyone is in recovery mode after the big battle with Neferet, Kalona and the Raven Mockers.*****END SPOILERSAlso, Stevie Rae is hiding something really big from Zoey and everyone else. This one seemed to be slower than some of the other books in the series (although I should admit it's been a while since I read the last one). It really picked up at the very end and ended on a bit of a twist/cliffhanger, though, so I hope not to put off reading the next one for too long. Overall, still enjoyed it.

The first half of the book was a bit of a slow burn, recapping and building for what was to come later. It felt like it wasn't really going anywhere for quite a while, which made it hard to engage with. As with the other parts, there's a lot of action towards the end. By the last page, some major developments have occurred. Although one very big change happens at the end, overall it doesn't feel like much of the story-line has been resolved. This has some key parts of the series in it, but as a book it lacks its own particular story and is more of a bridge.

This book did not get rave reviews - in fact most that I have read really said they could have done without it. I have to disagree. The series is finally starting to move. There was hardly any retelling or explaining in this installment. I do see how annoying it must have been to folks who were reading each one as they were published as this is definitely a piece of the story from the middle... no beginning or end in this one. But overall, I liked it; I think it moved the plot along; and I am eager to begin #7.

Finally the authors did not rehash all the old novels! You could just pick it up like it was a continuation of the last novel, which is how I feel series should be.

The story moved along with new points of views. We were in Zoey's head, Stevie Rae's, Aphrodite's, Rephaim's, Stark's, and even Heath's.

Interesting things happen from new imprints, to major injuries, and a few death's.
Zoey's dreams about Kalona are intriguing.

Zoey is once again confused about everything. She finds no answers. Although I would have liked this book to end in a better spot, the ending still life me satisfied.

Contains spell casting, fallen angels, goddesses, high priestesses, vampyres, Imprinting. The only thing the novel is missing are dragons...Could due with a few werewolves.

Pretty much the whole reason the author wrote this series is for blood-sucking scenes where the humans imprint to the vampyres and it becomes some sexual as well as psychic bond. And this time they threw in the warrior connection. That was new.

I must admit I like Stark. He is my favorite character.

Same old potty mouth stuff in the last novels. I would never let my teenager read this series. (Honestly, I still don't know why I am reading it.) And yes, I did rate it four stars because the writing was much improved as well as the movement of the plot. If you like CW shows, you will like this novel.

I was not thrilled with the sixth book in the House of Night series. I didn't like the jumping from person to person in the chapters, because they all sounds like Zoey to me. If you are going to write from another characters POV you should really try to create the character. Stevie Rae was almost exactly like Z. The story was anti-climactic until the very very end which was frustrating and the fact that both Z and Stevie Rae have boy issues is starting to wear on me a little. I hope the next one is good. I will be reading it regardless.

    A double-edged sword
    One side destroys
    One releases
    I am your Gordian knot
Will you release or destroy me?
    Follow truth and you shall:
    Find me on water
    Purify me through fire
    Trapped by earth nevermore
    Air will whisper to you
    What spirit already knows:
    That even shattered
    anything is possible
    If you believe
Then we shall both be free.

14-Dec: I finished it at last! I liked what happened between Stevie Rae and Rephim, it was romantic. But I am very sad about Heath he was a sweet guy and a wonderful soul, poor thing, Kalona is killer jerk!!! But what shocked me the most was Zoey!!! she is in between, the living and the dead, and she lost her beautiful marks!!

The Sixth book in the HON series really dragged on. Not sure why I am still buying these books because I don't enjoy them. I guess somehow that Casts still have me wanting to know what happens, but I imagine soon I won't care.

OMG. I literly put that book down about two and a half seconds ago and actually pretty much threw it as I closed the last page. I am extremely disappointed in this book. It tells the reader basically nothing they didn't know before, it felt like filler, nothing but words to fill up the empty space between books. It was entertaining and an ok story but it did absolutely nothing for the plot of the series. I am completely depressed by this, there were plenty of opportunities to expand the story and plot line and to make it more fascinating (vamp high council, come on) and *SPOILER* to kill off Heath at the last second of the story as well as freaking crash out Zoey in the last paragraph...I mean I know she isn't dead but that was unnecessary.*END SPOLIER* The book started out way out of sync from the last book in my opinion as well, it was almost like I totally missed something, even though it started exactly where the last book left off. Then as it progressed, the book was mainly nothing more that Zoey arguing about her boyfriends, the same as the last book, and then doing one or two things here and there. I fell in love with this series from Marked and I really think this book is what killed it for me, I might re-read it and try again, or I might hang up my hat and not continue on with Zoey Redbird's boyfriend misadventures.

Zoey's confusion about Kalona comes to a peak in this book when the group of kids bands together and chases him and Neferat to the ancient seat of power in the vampyre world, you guessed it, Italy! With the help of Aphrodite's visions, Stevie Ray's pack of red fledglings, and Erik's.... jealousy? Zoey her friends, including the ever human Heath, head overseas to stop Kalona and Neferat from declaring themselves Nyx incarnate and her consort and taking over the Vampyre world in order to start a war against the humans! But Zoey's not so sure that Kalona is all bad. Her hesitation ends when she is called by her imprint to Heath just in time to see Kalona kill him. Too late to save him, Zoey throws her whole spirit at him and he falls from the cliff. A thrilling continuation of the previous 5, and I am looking forward to the next book!

I have to say I really liked this book although the ending has left me a little confused. By far the best plot line is that of Stevie Rae and Raphaim, he is very likable in his own weird way. I think (and hope) the shifting perspectives is the authors way of preparing to take books in a different direction, not focusing on Zoey so much.

I just finished reading Tempted by P.C. and Kristin Cast. It is the sixth book in the House Of Night series. Zoey and her gang attempt to return to the House Of Night after banishing Neferet and Kalona. They are met by disaster, injury, distrust, and hatred. While Neferet and Kalona may be banished, their influence on many of the people seems to have stuck with them. Zoey realizes she must destroy Kalona in order to fully return House Of Night to its natural order.I really loved this book. Its my second time reading it. I'm re-reading this entire series in honor of the new book that came out in October. I'm glad I am. This series as a whole has managed to captivate my attention and leave me hooked and begging for more. I tend to stay loyal to the books that do that for me. They also stick with me longer than any other book. The only thing I really didn't like about this book was that unlike the first five books, this book is written in more than one perspective. This normally wouldn't be a problem. I'm sure there is a purpose for it that there wasn't in previous books. However, it seems that the multiple view points can be confusing, especially when using two different points of view. For Zoey, they use first person, and for everybody else they use third person. I personally believe they should have just written ll perspectives in first person. Especially considering the beginning of each chapter signifies the person's point of view that it is. In one of the chapters, Zoey's perspective is written in third person for a very short time. I fully recommend this book, as well as the rest of the series, to anybody who loves this kind of genre. It's bold and inspiring. It's action packed. It's adventurous. Most importantly, it's raw and honest. It's targeted at a teenage and young adult audience, bu I personally thing people of all ages will enjoy it.

I usually take notes while reading the House of Night series and then use them to compile my review in a more formative script, but why should I put effort into a review when it's clear that the Casts have stopped putting effort into these books.

Tempted wasn't.... terrible.... by HoN standards, in fact, I think it's one of the better. The one star comes from, jeez, a lot of things.

First off, the damned time frame these books set. I've always thought that the character development was severely lacking. Zoey was being 'forced' to develop while the rest of her friends remain the same. You'd think that vampyres who've been touched by the hands of Nyx would be receiving the same treatment as Zoey and Stevie Rae. For the longest time, I wanted to chalk this up to the time in which these books take place. It's been roughly 3 months, two weeks, some odd days since Zoey was 'marked', so when I thought about it, that doesn't seem like a lot of time for development or maturation of the Twins, Damion and Jack. Then I REALLY thought about it. Why is it that we've seen so much change from so many of the characters: Zoey, Stevie Rae, Aphrodite.... hell, we'll even throw in Heath and Erik in for good measure... yet we have yet to see an ounce from the nerd herd? I seriously hope that their time is soon because I'm getting sick of the 'Aphrodyke is a ho bag' jokes from the twins, I'm tired of the 'Damion does this motion GAYLY' and I'm not particularly fond of Jack either. The time frame excuse, for me now, is bullshit.

I'll give points to finally making the stakes higher in this book. Bless your hearts, Casts. What you have done with Heath in regards to character in this book is awesome, his outcome aside, he's grown on me and I don't truly believe he's gone 'forever'.

Thank you Casts for solving the Erik problem. He was becoming a 'problem'.

I'm relieved about the Stark situation. He and Heath got along for the good of Zoey... while there was still jealousy, the two saw eye to eye in their goals, Protect Zoey. Stark even goes as far to say 'I'm glad I'm not your boyfriend.'

    Onwards:

I can't believe that Rape is still used as a major plot device in this book. It's tossed around so freely in this series in general and I feel like it's handled immaturely. It does however, give Aphrodite a nice 'full circle' moment where she admits the reasoning for her going down on Erik in 'Marked' was the need for control in her out of control life. I believe she's truly moved away from the incident. It's just a shame that the Twins see her as nothing more than a 'shallow vapid rapist' while Stark, whose committed similar crimes gets a hall pass because he's 'hot'.

I feel like every blurb I've read about this book is a lie. I was expecting them to spend more time at their school trying to get it together, but they spend more time wandering around with nuns and going to Italy.

You know? Over all, this book serves as nothing more than filler between arcs. The Casts, at this point, could have easily edited this series HEAVILY stuck them together two at at time and maybe have something decent in the end.

    Tattoo Count:
At the end of this novel, Zoey's soul is shattered and her tattoos disappear.

    Boyfriend count: 0
    Heath: Dead
    Erik: Gone
Stark: Says he's not her boyfriend
    Kalona: Who knows.

The end of this book leaves me feeling slightly empty. It's an awesome book, don't get me wrong. I love it. But the series could end with this book and I wouldn't pine for another for terrifically long.

It's like I just started to care about Heath and then... Well, you'll have to read for yourself.

And then there's everything she needs to know but doesn't.
    It's maddening.
    The reader knows. Zoey doesn't.
    Will she ever know?
    Gah - infuriating!

I guess things were written in stone for Stevie Rae when she went off by herself to check the perimeter, though it did start an interesting story arc. Again with the "Why can't they see through Neferet?!" Add to that plenty of "Seriously- you have enough sense to ignore Aya!" Plus a dash of "Zoey, you have too many guys in your life to completely freak out about any one of them!"

I have a feeling that one of the authors writes the first half, and the other writes the second half, because in every book there is a HUGE change in standards at the half way mark. I actually really enjoyed the first half. We were no longer subjected to fifty pages recapping the story so far and I was excited at the prospect of reading the book from Aphrodite's prospective.

Alas, half way through the book, things went down hill. It slipped back into its stereotypical ways (apparently, because Jack is gay, he 'gasps with horror' when he can only bring one pair of shoes) and turned into a rambling mess. I have no idea what the point of changing the perspectives was because there was no consistency- it was just random people narrating it when it was convenient for the storyline. I'm also annoyed at the imprinting. I thought it was really cool when it was something special but now they've ruined it because they all just keep imprinting on every new person they see- it's ridiculous.

I'm sick of Zoey and have been for quite some while. I love Aphrodite (will Zoey ever suit calling her a bitch?) and Darius as usual and they're the only reason I want to read the next book. I'm really hoping for a book fully narrated by Aphrodite but I think that would be wishful thinking.

In this book Zoey is the strongest vampire there is everyone is in love with her and this guy named Kalona comes along and tells her that she is his Aya which means mine and he is evil and wants to take over the world but the only way that he can do that is if he has her on his side but she knows that he is evil and will not turn on her queen to go with him so she has to defeat him and this guy Stark dies and comes back to life. Zoey and Stark are meant to be together but he is evil now and the only way to save him is for Zoey to get close to him and she does that by getting hurt really bad and almost dyeing and has to be taken back to the school were Kalona is and then she gets healed and takes Stark with her and makes Kalona flee and leave them alone. I think that anyone who loves vampires and romance should read this series I fell in love with them after the first book and I am pretty sure that you will too!
