- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5One of if not the best deprogramming mental tools I have ever read. Excellent concepts from beginning to end. The story opens ones mind to new possibilities about life and how we all have been deceived by our own cultures worldwide.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5One of my favourite books. Definitely expands your perspective on current culture.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Excellent and thought provoking...makes you reflect on your place in the world...
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5There are no words to do this book justice. It should be required reading for every person in the modern works and most certainly the Bible of leaders of nations and companies. Amazing book.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Reading this made me feel ill. It's not that the gorilla is going in entirely the wrong direction, but it does seem likely mainly for the wrong reasons, and in the most patronising manor possible.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5an amazing book I found metaphorical on many levels and an ominous warning of our future. I hope we can once again resurrect the myths and bring back Abel to counter his brother. read the book, you'll understand what i mean.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Amazing book. Most important thing I've ever read. But this audio book is abridged and misses the full impact of the message. Read the book.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Everyone in the western culture should be made to read this.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5One that everyone should read in their lifetime. Learn how to step away from the takers and you will be all the better for it.

- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5I was excited when I read the premise of this book — the whole talking gorilla thing. But man, this gorilla was both boring and unlikeable.
I felt nothing for him. And I love this sort of thing (wacky stories with magical realism). Same for the protagonist — Guy was a total cypher.
This was a philosophy book that barely even tried to be a narrative. The gorilla just preaches while the human protagonist says “right” and “good point” and “I never thought of it like that”.
As to the philosophy — it was interesting and brought up good points about humans relationship to the earth and the stories we tell ourselves to serve our actions. But at the same time this gorilla makes a lot of bullshit points (which he constructs his later arguments on) and just stinks so much that it was hard for me to care. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Really gets a person thinking about their place in the world. It made me feel insignificant but not in a bad way. Like things are just so much bigger then me but at the same time I'm a part of it all. Great book.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A book every one should read at least once and then do everything in their power to live by. This shortened audio version is acceptable.
