About this audiobook

Ellie Wold can't wait to graduate from high school. She and Andrew Bjorklund have been waiting to get married since...well, since forever, and in June they will finally wed. When Andrew announces they have to postpone the wedding, she's disappointed but takes it in stride--there must be a good reason, or Andrew's pa wouldn't ask it of them. But Andrew is angry and can't understand why Ellie isn't upset too, especially when they'd been planning to "marry up" ever since they were in grade school. Disgruntled, he works out his frustration in stubborn determination to finish building their barn and mail-order house, working himself to exhaustion. But just when the new house is nearly finished, an unthinkable tragedy occurs. Throwing aside the vow he made to Ellie, Andrew seeks revenge. As their plans unravel, it looks as if their love may not survive.

This story was a wonderful example of hardships, love and forgiveness!

This was a refreshing story filled with people that have problems and heartaches, but have each other and their faith to help them endure. I enjoyed how the author made them real people and showed you what they were thinking at times (thoughts we have all probably had). I look forward to reading the other stories in this series.Ellie can't wait to graduate because then her and Andrew Bjorklund plan to marry. Andrew has loved Ellie since she was little and is very disappointed when his father asks him to hold off the wedding until after harvest. As Andrew and Ellie wait they must learn to understand each other better. Andrew has a hard time with his temper at times. In the meantime you will watch their new barn go up and their new house. But tragedy does strike during this story and seeking revenge is never a good move.I think there might be a series of books about this family written before this one, and might go back and read up on how some of the "older folks" in this story came together.

This book . . . wow! This picks up right after the Red River of the North Series, continuing Ellie Wold and Andrew Bjorkland's stories. I love the characters of Andrew and Ellie, so I loved this book. A lot of plot twists you didn't see coming. Heart-wrenching and heart-warming all at the same time. Not something I would read over and over again, because of some serious themes, but definitely a must read!

This book feels longer than it really is. I'm sorry to say so, but it does. I've heard of Lauraine Snelling and learned that her books are clean and Christian-based. That part pleased me, but her writing style bores me to tears. Ellie and Andrew are two of the most boring couples I've heard read about in my life. There is no chemistry! The supporting characters in the story are fine, but nothing great. In some places, I found myself hurrying/skimming just to be finally finished.

I don't think I'll be reading another Lauraine Snelling book anytime soon.

I read this via Book on CD from Recorded Books Inspirational. Overall I enjoyed the story. It was really long though, and not quite enjoyable for the entire time. It starts with an accident that is never explained, and there are a couple other related events that I guess stuck out to me more, but they never had answers and that sort of thing bothers me. The main themes of the book are about growing up, and dealing with anger appropriately. Oh my goodness, the anger that these character personalities felt. I cannot tell you how angry I would get with them sometimes! It was a good book, and I could completely hear the sounds and felt myself there with those homesteading Norwegians, but I just did not love it.

1st quarter 76/320 2nd quarter 244/320This book is about a young couple,Andrew and Ellie, who have been destined to get married since they were little. As soon as they graduate out of highschool they were supposed to get married but their parents made them postpone the wedding. During the time between then and the day they get married they discover other sides of each other they never knew and question whether they should get married or not. There are 2 main characters Andrew and Ellie.Andrew is a big teddy bear. He is really sweet but looks tough on the outside.Ellie is this blonde sweet intelligent person who doesn't have one bad thought about anyone and always looks on the bright side of life. They both change throughout the book in the same way. They both widen their horizons of looking at the outside and inside of each others personalities and sometimes find that they don't always like what they find. The things I could relate to was their families.Their parents want whats best for them but don't always do what you want to give you the best things. What I didn't like about the book was where they left off at the end(i wont tell what happened) but I didn't like it. I would recommend this to any girl who loves a good love story.
