About this audiobook

Bellamy Lyston was only 12 years old when her older sister Susan was killed on a stormy Memorial Day. Bellamy's fear of storms is a legacy of the tornado that destroyed the crime scene along with her memory of what really happened during the day's most devastating moments.

Now, 18 years later, Bellamy has written a sensational, bestselling novel based on Susan's murder. Because the book was inspired by the tragic event that still pains her family, she published it under a pseudonym to protect them from unwanted publicity. But when an opportunistic reporter for a tabloid newspaper discovers that the book is based on fact, Bellamy's identity is exposed along with the family scandal.

Moreover, Bellamy becomes the target of an unnamed assailant who either wants the truth about Susan's murder to remain unknown or, even more threatening, is determined to get vengeance for a man wrongfully accused and punished.

In order to identify her stalker, Bellamy must confront the ghosts of her past, including Dent Carter, Susan's wayward and reckless boyfriend -- and an original suspect in the murder case. Dent, with this and other stains on his past, is intent on clearing his name, and he needs Bellamy's sealed memory to do it. But her safeguarded recollections -once unlocked-pose dangers that neither could foresee and puts both their lives in peril.

As Bellamy delves deeper into the mystery surrounding Susan's slaying, she discovers disturbing elements of the crime which call into question the people she holds most dear. Haunted by partial memories, conflicted over her feelings for Dent, but determined to learn the truth, she won't stop until she reveals Susan's killer.

That is, unless Susan's killer strikes her first...

This was my first Sandra Brown book and I am so glad I picked it up! It had me hooked on every page and the sexual tension Sandra created between Bellamy and Dent is so intense there was almost steam coming out of the book. Sandra wrote a spectacular book that kept me constantly wondering who the murderer would end up being and I usually can pick it but with this one I didn't realize who it was until Sandra wanted the reader to know. Defibitly worth the five stars and will be on the lookout for more of her books

Read the book. It was fairly good. Still do not know why it was called LOW PRESSURE...unless it referred to the tornado...but the connection was never made in the book...Unless I missed it.

Low Pressure by Sandra Brown 3 starsLow Pressure is about a writer Bellamy Lyston who has a best selling fiction novel. That has leaked that it was based on a true story that happened to her when she was 12. The way she wrote it stirred up a lot emotions and questions about who the real killer might have been. Did the cops have the wrong guy sent to prison where he was murdered?Someone is messing with Bellamy sending her scary presents, breaking into her car and house. She left her apartment to go bsck to her hometown to figure who wants her stop asking questions.Dent Carter was Susan's boyfriend at the time of the murder. He was the main suspect but his alibie checked out. Now he is a pilot with his own airplane. He was angry when he found out about the book.Dale is the detective on the case. He has left the police department. He did not always follow the law.Rupe is the D.A. now he is a car dealership owner and always doing commercials.Van Durbin was the reporter that connected the pen name with her real name Bellamy. He followed her to get more of the story. The plot is pretty good did not guess the killer of susan or who is wanting to kill Bellamy. I ate the foul language and the sex scenes. Bellamy is a likeable character who is watching her father die of cancer and trying to figure out what really murder her sister before her father dies.I was given this ebook to read in exchange of honest review from Netgalley.Grand Central Publishing (September 18, 2012)

This was a let down. Had to drag myself to finish. Not up to her usual standards. Can't quite recommend this. Disappointing.

This is probably my 5th Sandra Brown book & each book shows me why she is my favorite author all over again. I love the mystery and romance combined. She is the only author I have ever read that knew how to make both aspects just as important as the other. LOVED this book!!

Another good mystery by Sandra Brown. The story is about a murder that has haunted a family for a long time. Bellamy Lyston writes a book about her sisters murder that opens up wounds within her family, a man that was a suspect, cops, attorneys - anyone that was involved in the investigation of the murder. The story is a journey of finding answers that are painful and dangerous. Along the way a romance, more murders, and finally the truth. This story is an interesting read.

Sandra Brown is always enjoyable to read. She brings her characters to life, sucks you into the story so you feel like you are watching a movie and she throws a lot of twists and turns that usually you don't know who did it until the end. I really enjoyed this book. I cared for the characters, I thought I knew who did it and I kept changing my mind. It takes place in a very short time and she does wrap it up in the end. I recommend this book if you like a fast pace and twist and turns.

My thoughts…I would give this three stars. I did enjoy reading Low Pressure and found it to be somewhat entertaining. It’s just doesn’t measure up to some of past books I’ve read by Sandra Brown. Some other books I’ve really liked from Sandra are: The Witness, Chill Factor, Hello Darkness, Smoke Screen, Ricochet, White Hot, and Play Dirty.

Typical story and even I figured it out, but worth listening to for the talented narration by Stephen Lang. Much more satisfying had a few more secondary characters been fleshed out, but it nonetheless ended up being a satisfying listen.

This book kept my interest from the first page to the last. Bellamy Price's promiscuous sister died during a tornado. A teenager was arrested and tried for the murder of Susan but did he really kill her or did someone else. Bellamy saw the murder but has blocked the murder scene. This novel takes many twists and turns which keeps you guessing and turning page after page.

Another wonderful suspense novel. I saw this book on a TV commercial, and decided to read it. I had never heard of Sandra Brown before this book, and obviously I've been missing out my whole life. This book was utter perfection. The writing style is wonderful, smooth, effortless, easy to read, and everything else you want in a book. The novel switches back, and fourth from present to past, and sometimes that can get confusing, or annoying. In this book it was neither. It never confused me, or made me roll my eyes and wonder when it was going to be over. It did it when necessary, and not just to fill up pages. The ending was excellent, and it made my mouth drop. This novel has made me so anxious to read other Sandra Brown novels. I can't wait!

I had the killer nailed down to two people. Good read, i listened to it on audio and the i'm not a huge fan of male readers so had it been a female reader i probably would have finished it sooner.

Bellamy Lyston Price was only 12 years old when her older sister Susan was killed on a stormy Memorial Day. Bellamy's fear of storms is a legacy of the tornado that destroyed the crime scene as well as her memory of one vital fact that still eludes her... Now, 18 years later, Bellamy has written a novel based on Susan's murder. It's her first book, and it's an instant sensation. But because the novel is based on the most traumatic event of her life, she's published it under a pseudonym to protect herself and her family. But when a sleazy reporter for a tabloid newspaper discovers that the book is based on a real crime, Bellamy's identity - and dark family secrets -- are exposed. Suddenly, she finds herself embroiled in a personal conflict and at the mercy of her sister's killer, who for almost two decades has gotten away with murder...and will stop at nothing to keep it that way.My Thoughts:Sandra Brown is a comfort read for me. I knew that I am going to enjoy the read. The plots are quite simple and not too complicated like some thrillers. There is always a heroine and hero who you know are going to get together. This book is not the best I have read by SB but I still enjoyed it. I did work out quite late on who the perp was and why once everything started to come together. So this I think is always good as not to have it all worked out too early.Overall the plot was ok, still plenty of thrills if you like along the way. I did find the backwards and forwards in the plane a bit of a bore. An ok thriller but SB has done better.

When Bellamy was 12, her older sister was murdered on Memorial Day during a tornado. Fast forward 28 years, Bellamy has written a bestselling novel about her sister’s death. Brought into focus, is the question of whether or not the correct man was sent to jail for the crime. Along with her sister's past boyfriend, Dent Carter, Belllamy seeks to uncover the truth, before once and for all.Overall, I thought the book was ok, not great. It felt very repetitive at times. The sex scenes were a bit blah, the same phrases were used over and over to describe the allegedly intense and passionate moments. Bellamy's fear of storms didn't really come across until the very end of the book. Not a home run, but I would be willing to read the author's next book.
