About this audiobook

#1 New York Times bestselling author Sandra Brown delivers a thrilling tale of murder, desire, and fatal secrets.…

Like the city of New Orleans itself, Claire Laurent is a vibrant beauty laced with a mysterious elusiveness. The founder of French Silk, a fabulous lingerie company, she has fought hard to make it a worldwide success. Then a TV evangelist attacks French Silk's erotic sleepwear as sinful. And when he is killed, Claire becomes the prime suspect.

District Attorney Robert Cassidy knows Claire is damning herself with lie after lie about the murder, even as he feels her drawing him into her world and her very soul. But neither Cassidy nor Claire's protests of innocence can save her unless she reveals a shocking truth-one she has sworn to take to the grave.…

Very disappointing. I try not to give really bad reviews. But I have nothing positive to say. Bad character development, predictable plot, really nothing redeeming to say. I doubt I'll read another book by this author.

Sandra is a talented writer. She has written an interesting mystery/romance. She keeps the reader curious about what will happen next and she provides some interesting twists. The ending was looking like it would be as expected but then had an interesting turn. The language and romance is somewhat graphic but reasonable. Overall, I liked the book.

While not the best of books, there is a fairly decent story here. Good enough for an afternoon read, at least.

Characters are not that likable. Sex scenes long and unnecessary. End of the book felt like they just changed the trajectory and then didn't elaborate enough or finish the story. Definitely not up to her normal standard.

French Silk by Sandra BrownClaire grew up poor and removed from her mothers house. She now with a friend runs a lingerie shop in New Orleans and doeseven better with a mail order catalog. There is a stumbling block-the minister, Jackson Wilde who thinks her work is porn and tries to get her shut down. When he is found dead from his wife, who had spent the previous night with the stepson going over their music, she is accused of his murder as her business name is on the minister's hit list of places to shut down. There are very fiery hot steamy sex scenes that go along with the story line and as you discover other clues to help solve this murder.Cassidy is the detective in charge and he's falling for her. Just when you think you know the outcome things change and you think it possibly can't be who it is!

Claire Laurent runs French Silk, a successful lingerie company in New Orleans. When famous TV evangelist Jackson Wilde is murdered, Claire becomes a suspect and will have to reveal a family secret in order to prove her innocence. Full of steamy intrigue, a philandering politician, an unstable model, a hypocritical preacher, plenty of lingerie, and a recipe for the decadent French Silk pie, this story is sure to please.
