About this audiobook

Terry Goodkind author of the enormously popular Sword of Truth novels, has forged perhaps his best novel yet, pitting Richard Rahl and Kahlan Amnell against threats to the freedom of the world that will take them to opposite ends of the world to defeat the forces of chaos and anarchy.

Emperor Jagang is rising once again in the Old World and Richard must face him, on his own turf. Richard heads into the Old World with Cara, the Mord-Sith, while his beloved Kahlan remains behind. Unwilling to heed an ancient prophecy, Kahlan raises an army and goes into battle against forces threatening armed insurrection in the Midlands.

Separated and fighting for their lives, Richard and Kahlan will be tested to the utmost.

Terry Goodkind keeps writing amazing books. I loved the book but the one thing I really hated was the readers way of interpreting Zed. Zed is one of my favourite characters but I almost disliked him after hearing “his” voice.

I was ok with this narrator until Zed came into the picture. He makes him sound like a frail, ailing man and not the thin, wiry, firecrackery wizard that he is. I wish they’d stick with one narrator.

The woven “life lessons” in to a thrilling fantasy. So well done. Better than any self-help book out there.

This is one of my favourite books in the series. I think it's the way that we get time with the characters and get to feel them as they move through challenges. It's just as impactful now as it was when I was a teenager.

Best book in the series so far. Goodkind really steps up his writing by weaving his message into the plot, still plenty of action, romance, twists and turns. It gets a little sloppy towed the end, but that's okay.

I really enjoyed this book and the readers voice was perfect as the narrator. There have been a few readers I haven’t cared for but this reader reinvested my interest in the series. Hopefully the next is just as good!

Well authored, although the war never end and the dream walker is still the king
