      I could care less one way or the other for the love story in this book. For me it was all about the relationship between father and daughter. A beautiful and amazing story that left me wanting to give my dad a big hug!!!

      I believe this to be Nicholas Sparks' first book as a true sell out to Hollywood. It was a well-written book nonetheless. It was an easier read and more juvenile than many of his other books.

      I picked up this book because it is set in Wrightsville Beach, NC--one of my brother's and sister-in-law's favorite places. It turned out to be an endearing story of family and love gained and lost.

      Ronnie Miller is an indecisive teen who is forced to stay in Wrightsville beach, North Carolina. Ronnie's parents divorced three years prior and crushed her heart leaving her with anger and the inability to commit even if her heart is willing. Ronnie's past broke her down as well as her respect for her father. She doesn't know how she will survive this summer in NC. Her perspective is all changed when she falls for hunk of the beach Will Blankelee. She is very reluctant at first, and knows she is an unlikely match for Will. The Last Song is an unpredictable love story between a rebellious bitter girl and a heart throbbing volley ball player. A change in heart takes place on this magical summer. Nicholas Sparks does a fantastic job conducting this up and down relationship. This love novel takes you for a spin. I suggest to run and pick up The Last Song before time runs out

      I renewed this twice and with all the time, I couldn't get through it. The story line was boring and predictable. Characters undeveloped and plain. I only made it half way through it in my 2 months of having it checked out and couldn't manage to make myself finish it.

      OK so I stayed up MUCH later than I intended just to finish this book.
      Then I took up another few minutes to write up this review. I didn't want to write it the next day, for fear of forgetting the finer details I wanted to write about.

      This story is basically your average fairytale-ish love story (with more tragedies), but it's so beautifully written that you can't help but wished it would happen to you.
      And I mean the love-story part, by the way.

      The basic ending is predictable, but Nicholas just has a way of writing things that... I almost feel attached to the story.

      I hated Marcus from the off, and as the story progressed, I began to hate him even more. I sneaked a peek at some of the little scenes from the movie, and honestly, Movie-Marcus didn't look much like how I imagined the Book-Marcus to look like. Movie-Marcus looked more... timid than the book had described. Also, I had imagined Galadriel a.k.a Blaze to look slightly taller and with long straight hair, for some reason. Not like Movie-Blaze either.

      Anyways, this book didn't suck out as much emotion from me as The Wedding did, but it was an equally good book. I'm starting to be a HUGE fan of Nicholas Sparks, however the only thing I'm worried about from reading too much of his books is having the idea that the 'perfect guy' is out there somewhere, and further disappointing my already disappointing experiences in my love life, to which I already have too high of an expectation already. ><

      "The Last Song" by Nicholas Sparks is an amazing book. After her parents divorced, Ronnie Miller and her brother Jonah are forced to stay with their father for the summer. Ronnie, not liking this idea at all, refuses to become close to her father. But as days go by her relationship with her father blossems and so does the relationship she has with volleyball player, Will Blaklee. The Ending is very sad yet it was expected.

      I liked this book very much. The characters were really realistic and their problems were also. there is also a bit of a Christian theme to the books but it is not heavy handed, so I think that even if you are not a churchgoer, if you are open minded you should be able to enjoy this book and the realistic challenges that kids face these days, and the ethical dilemmas they often face. If you're not open minded about people who have faith, don't read the book, but maybe you should work on that little problem.

      This is a great book about a young girl who learns what love really is in a single summer. She not only finds her ture love, but beging to understand what unconditional love is really about and rebuilds a strained relationship with her father. Great story!

      Ronnie and her brother Jonah are shipped off to North Carolina to spend the summer at the beach with their father. Sounds like fun right? For Ronnie, it seems anything but. She hasn't spoken with her father since he left their family 3 years ago and now she is going to be forced to live with him for 3 months. Trying to avoid him, Ronnie gets in with the wrong crowd and is picked for shoplifting. Realizing her mistake now that she is in legal trouble, Ronnie makes a complete about face and starts a summer romance with the nicest boy in town. Even though things start to look up at this point, Ronnie is due for a rude awakening to her idyllic summer.I have read many of Nicholas Sparks books, so when I started this one, I expected to like it, however, the beginning, IMHO, was a bit rough and I was worried for a while until the story took off and then I could barely stop listening. I liked the way that the narration was from several points of view and the resolutions that were eventually arrived at could have seemed a bit contrived, but the impressions came off realistically. The story touched me especially since I was reading on Father's Day and ***SPOILER*** when Steve, Ronnie's Dad died, tears came rolling down my cheeks. Mr. Sparks did not disappoint.

      I read this in order to watch the movie afterwards but what can I say? I didn't watch the movie because the book is way to beautiful to destroy it by watching the movie like it happened often before. I spent about the last 50 pages crying my heart out because it was just so sad! After I finished it I lent it to my best friend immidiately because I wanted her to share the flood of feelings rushing through you when you read this.My advice: If you loved this book as much as I did, share it with your besties.

      Filled with emotions and as you read along and got to know the characters of the story, Nicholas Sparks knows just how to touch the heart of the readers. It is a complete tear-jerker and my eyes was red and puffy by the time I finished reading it. I highly recommend it !

      First off, I've never read a Nicholas Spark's book before, so believe my surprise when one of my friends told me that I should really consider reading this book. When I first saw the preview for The Last Song last year, I was interested in seeing it, except of course Miley Cyrus was starring in it and I'm not such a huge fan of the girl. When I started reading this book, I IMMEDIATELY got hooked. I was not prepared for the emotional roller coaster that awaited me. This was such a Beautiful and touching story. I mean it. SO BEAUTIFUL AND TOUCHING!! I'm still trying to recover from my emotional breakdown caused by this book. I literally broke down crying while reading this book. I don't think that's happened to me before while reading a book. I HAVE cried while reading a book before, believe me. But I don't think I've cried the way that I did while reading this book. This story REALLY touched my heart. Perhaps I may sound cliche' since this is a Nicholas Sparks book, but like I said before, I've never read a book by him until now.Characters, plot, setting- EVERYTHING was fantastic. Ronnie was an incredible character. I hated her and loved her at the same time! I REALLY hated her in the beginning because of how horrible she was treating her father. Excuse my French but she was a real Bitch! But then as the story progresses, she begins to change and becomes an extremely likable character. The way that I was able to watch her grow and transform into a completely different person was great. At the same time it was also painful because of the things that she realizes in the end. The theme of music also played a beautiful part in this book. The descriptions of how music played a big part in Ronnie and her Dad's life were beautiful. It made their relationship very special. Believe when I say that every time I read about Ronnie's father working on the "Special Song" I simply had to listen to the piano version of "When I Look At You" while reading. I kept giving myself goosebumps by how surreal the experience of getting lost within this story was for me. The shifts in POV were awesome. It felt like putting a jigzaw puzzle together. I loved the different voices from Ronnie, Will, her Father and the other characters. You learn so much about the characters with each chapter. I actually can't wait to watch the movie and I hope I enjoy it as much as I enjoyed reading the book. Although I'm not to keen on the fact that Miley Cyrus plays Ronnie, I should watch the film before I judge her acting. If you've never read a book by Nicholas Spark, I suggest that you pick this one up! Give it a chance and I hope you'll enjoy and love the story as much as I did.

      Great book. Do I have to say anymore? It's Nicholas Sparks, so that should tell you something. Great writing in describing the situation between a feuding father and daughter. Would recommend to anyone.

      Some people say the book is better than the movie. But i say the Movie is better than the book. The book was still good but not as good as the movie it didn't catch my attention as much as the movie did.
