About this audiobook

1105 Yakima Street,Cedar Cove, Washington

Dear Listener,You’ve probably heard that my wife has left me. Rachel’s pregnant, and she says she can’t handle the stress in our household anymore. My thirteen-year-old daughter, Jolene, is jealous of her. Maybe it’s my fault. As a widower I spoiled her-

Jolene was reading over my shoulder just now and says that’s not true. She claims Rachel ruined everything. But that’s not true. The real question is: How can I get my wife back? I don’t even know where she is. She’s not with Teri Polgar or any of her other friends from the salon. The other question is…when will Jolene grow up and stop acting like such a brat? Of course, I’m not the only one in town with problems. Linc Wyse’s father-in-law is trying to destroy his business. And you know Charlotte Rhodes? Seems she’s becoming forgetful, and the family’s worried about her and Ben. Lots of other stuff going on—but Rachel is better at keeping up with it than I am.

If you have any idea where my wife is, give me a call. Please.

This episode in the continuing saga of Cedar Cove centers mostly around the shake-up of Rachel and Bruce's marriage. Rachel up and left after Bruce's inconsistent parenting with 13 year old Jolene causes a rift between them. Visits with other familiar characters like Charlotte and Ben Rhodes, Grace the librarian and the McAfee clan, round out another wonderful story by Macomber.

Reviewed by JenReview copy provided by NetGalleyDebbie Macomber's Cedar Cove series is one of my all-time favorites. I enjoy going back to visit all those beloved citizens each year as a new book is released. And I was saddened to hear that the series is ending come this October when 1225 Christmas Tree Lane is released. When I picked up this book, I was excited that Rachel and Bruce's story was going to be told. They've been secondary characters for years and we've watched their relationship unfold. And now it was their turn to shine by being the lead story. However, in 400 pages, they were the stars in about 150 of them. I understand Ms Macomber has a lot of story lines she is trying to tie up, but I felt a little cheated by how little time we got to spend with Rachel and Bruce. That said, I did enjoy getting to catch up with other people and couples from around Cedar Cove... I just wish that it hadn't taken up so much of the story. Unless you've read previous books, the following run down isn't going to make any sense to you. •Olivia is still recovering from cancer and now has to deal with her mother's failing health. •Charlotte (the aforementioned mother) and Ben deal with the after effects of a house fire. •Grace and Cliff adopt a new puppy, much to Grace's chagrin. •Will and Miranda try to work with each other without killing each other. •Shirley's new romance takes the next step. •Linc and Lori have to deal with Lori's overbearing father. •Chad and Gloria deal with an unplanned pregnancy. And these are just the highlights. The reader keeps jumping around to each of these stories while keeping up with Bruce and Rachel. Even though I don't feel any of the threading plots really got the attention they really deserved, I found myself laughing and crying as I read. Ms Macomber has a way of touching my heartstrings which keeps me coming back for more. If you haven't read this series, I highly suggest reading them in order as each book builds on the last and you'd likely be lost if you started this far along. Here's a handy widget for the book order. And you really won't be disappointed for trying out these books... I know I haven't been.

This is the second book that i read under the same series by the same author. Unlike the earlier book which is the last book from the same series, this is the second last book and tell the story of Rachel who left her husband after the standoff between her and her stepdaughter as well as trying to avoid the tension situation from affecting her baby that she is carrying. In meantime, Olivia, the Judge, is also having problems in relocating her parent to a care home when her mother beginning to forget things and caused the house to burned down. Grace on the other hand trying hard not to fall in love with Beau, the new puppy that was entrusted to her by her friend, Beth. All these conflicts has added colors to the storyline which i find it very interesting reading them. As what i experience it in the first book, i thoroughly enjoyed reading it and i even cried ;)

Bruce and Rachel Peyton still love each other, but she has left him because of issues with his daughter Jolene that he has ignored. Bruce is ready to deal with those issues but is it too late? Other residents of Cedar Cove have their own issues. Charlotte Rhodes is becoming forgetful and her children Olivia and Will are worried about her. In the meantime, Will is trying to figure out why he continues to clash with Miranda Sullivan. Linc Wyse is struggling to make his car repair service succeed, but his father-in-law has other ideas. And then there is Gloria Ashton who is trying to decide whether or not to tell Chad Timmons that she is having his baby. Life in Cedar Cove is always interesting.“1105 Yakima Street” is the eleventh (and next to last) book in Debbie Macomber’s Cedar Cove series and it is one of the best books in the series. The Bruce/Rachel/Jolene storyline is a good one as Macomber shows just how hard it can be to blend a family. All three characters are realistic: Rachel still loves Bruce but wants to do the right thing for their unborn child; Bruce is truly bewildered by what is happening but slowing realizing he needs to change in order to save his marriage; and Jolene doesn’t want to share her father’s love. (I did at times wish Bruce would discipline Jolene more and her turnaround happened a bit abruptly.) Another well-written storyline was Olivia and Will struggling with Charlotte and Ben’s aging – this was very realistic and heartbreaking at times. The storyline between Will and Miranda is a lot of fun and sizzles at times. The book isn't perfect – Macomber has a habit of repeating herself and constantly summarizes plotlines, even if they happened on the previous page (much of this feels like padding to make the book thicker). Also, there are repeated plots within the book and series – can anyone in Cedar Cove be pregnant without a tangled love life? Still, even with these flaws, it is always fun to visit the residents of Cedar Cove.“1105 Yakima Street” is another nice entry in Debbie Macomber’s Cedar Cove series and I will miss the series when it is finally over.

I have always loved Debbie Macomber. She has the ability to create heart warming and fun novels. One of my favorite books is 16 Lighthouse Road, book 1 in the Cedar Cove series.I will be honest and say that I haven't read all 11 books in this series, but the ones that I have read.....WOW! I always feel at home. With 1105 Yakima Street, we are taken back into the lives of Rachel and Bruce and Jolene, who are introduced in previous Cedar Cove novels. While this one focuses on Rachel, Bruce and Jolene as Rachel and Jolene have to work out their issues, and Bruce is dying to have his wife move back home, Ms. Macomber does a FANTASTIC job at incorporating all her families from Cedar Cove so we never loose sight of them. They are always helping each other out and loving each like family. Bruce truly loves his daughter and his wife, but he's at wits end trying to get Jolene over her selfishness and Rachel, who's pregnant, back into their lives. I felt a deep connection with Rachel. She didn't want to put the stress of a selfish 13 year old step daughter onto her shoulders while she's pregnant. She wanted to keep her baby safe and healthy so she thought it best to eliminate herself. I really prayed for her to be able to work things out! I wasn't too fond of Jolene and her attitude....I want to smack her upside the head a time or two and say "really"? And poor Bruce......well, it's obvious he has a love for BOTH his wife and daughter and.....well, I'll stop there.Yep, I stopped there. I don't want to give it away! I'll you this though. If you've NEVER read a Debbie Macomber novel, or it's been awhile, please. Pick up her Cedar Cove novels, including 1105 Yakima Street. Her novels are above and beyond 5 star worthy and worth ever minute spent reading them. You'll feel right at home getting to know all her characters, and you'll want to jump into each new book, ready to continue the journey. I can't wait until 1225 Christmas Tree Lane releases! I'll be jumping on that one like crazy! (Look for my reviews of the previous novels to come soon...I'm going back and reading them ALL in order! YAY!)

I love Debbie Macomber books. And this was a good book. I haven't read them in order or in fact many of this series. I was a bit confused in the beginning with the characters, but the further I read, the more I was able to connect the characters. Good story.

I read the first six books and than I forgot about them. I still enjoy the characters and am sorry I missed a few in between. So next I will read the last book in the series.Rachel has left her husband of less than a year of marriage. She is pregnant and the fighting of her step daughter and her husband not wanting to jump in just wanted peace. Rachel had to leave for her health and the babys. She keeps loosing weight instead of gaining weight. Her blood pressure is way high.Rachel had a good relationship with Jolene for years before she married Bruce. Jolene was jealous and glad that Rachel moved out and doesn't want her dad to have anything to do with her.Rachel has no where to go and her old boyfriend said he was renting a room in a house and thier was one extra the owner was at sea at the moment. Nate said, "He had a girl friend so she did not have to worry about him wanting to get back with her. So Rachel moved into with Nate her room was on main floor and the other bedrooms where upstairs.Bruce dosen't know where and who she is living with in fact no one does. Bruce is trying to get Rachel back and tries to talk at the salon but Jolene and friends show up and start yelling. Rachel boss does not like it. Finaly rachel gets a job where Bruce had no idea where she lives or works, she has blocked his cell phone number so he cant even call her.Bruce finally goes to counsling when Rachel first wanted to go.It also tells about whats going on in a lot of familar characters of past books and what they are up too.It was good to read it all again. I was given this ebook in exchange for honest review.
