About this audiobook

Once Bitten . . .

One minute Leigh is walking home in the early hours of the morning, and the next a vampire is sinking his teeth into her neck. Turns out it was a rogue vampire marked for termination, but it does Leigh little good because the damage's already been done. She's become one of them.

Lucian Argeneau, hunter of rogue vampires, has been alive for over two thousand years, and there's very little to excite him anymore. Food has become tasteless, sex is ordinary. Then Leigh drops into his life. Suddenly he finds himself craving coffee . . . and imagining the sassy brunette atop the black satin sheets on his nice big bed. It's Lucian's job now to enlighten Leigh on the inner workings of being immortal . . . and tutoring her is igniting a fire in him that hasn't burned in centuries.

But until they stop a renegade bloodsucker from destroying the human race, passion will have to wait!

Leigh Gerard is the owner of Coco's Restaurant and Bar. She is walking home around five o'clock in the morning when an employee (Donny), who has missed several days of work, steps in front of her. Next thing she knows is she is being bitten on the neck by the man who sneaked up behind her. The man behind her is Morgan, an ancient vampire and a rogue marked for termination by the Council. Donny (the employee) has a crush on Leigh and has made plans to spend eternity with her, Morgan sees Leigh as under his control to fill his ranks of rogue vampires. What Morgan doesn't count on is Leigh's strong mind.

Lucian Argeneau is a member of the Council and the leader of a team who terminates rogue vampires. His team has been sent out to destroy Morgan and his nest of rogue vampires. What Lucian doesn't count on is Leigh. The team members convince Lucian to spare Leigh's life because she hasn't bitten any mortals. When a disagreement over who will oversee Leigh's turning into an immortal lead to an argument, Lucian tells them he will take Leigh to his sister-in-law in Toronto, Canada, for her to watch over Leigh during the turn. When Lucian arrives at his sister-in-law's home, he finds her packed and preparing to drive down her driveway to make her flight. Lucian has no other choice but to oversee Leigh's turning.

In his over two thousand years of living, Lucian has always been the unspoken head of the Argeneau family. He is used to delegating tasks to others. Now none of his family is there to help him with Leigh's turning into an immortal. Lucian has also grown weary of life and is grumpy. His interest in food and sex waned around the era of Alexander the Great. Leigh lights fire in his blood spurring his interest in life and his interest in food and sex. When he discovers he can't read Leigh, Lucian considers he has found another life mate (His first family died during the fall of Atlantis). Leigh, however, is not a trusting person. Can Lucian gain her trust and her heart?

This is the sixth Paranormal Romance novel in the Argeneau series. The way it is written it seems as if Lynsay Sands wrote it as a standalone. She has Lucian explain the world building in detail to Leigh. All of which readers of the series do not need to rehash if they have been reading the series in order. The characterization is well developed with both its mortal and immortal flaws. There is humor, especially with the sister-in-law's large mastiff Julius, whom Lucian ends up taking care of along with helping Leigh recover. The plot is a romance. The subplot is tracking down, capturing and destroying the ancient immortal, Morgan, along with his nest of rogue vampires. The dialogue is serious yet humorous. The narrator Rick Robertson did a fair job of using inflections to differentiate between the characters' voices. The descriptions are not as strong as they have been in previous novels. It is there, but not intrusive. Bite Me If You Can is a serious yet humorous novel. I feel readers of the series will enjoy getting to know Lucian and Leigh. Adult situations and language.

Sadly found this book a bit boring, I loved the character of Lucian but struggled to warm up to his life mate, also there was too much talking and small details mentioned which made it at times very heavy, it only really got good towards the end.

I love Lucian Argeneau! However, even his deltightful gruffness and attempts to reenter social life could not keep me hooked. I found myself putting this book down more than I was picking it up. The best thing about this chapter in the Argeneau series was getting to know the infamous Lucian.

I like Lucian. What bothers me is how they pronounce his name Lucian (Lu Chen). considering his brother's name is Jean-Claude, a French name, I'm pretty sure that his name would be pronounced (Lu-see-an) or (Lu-shin). It just bugs me.

My thoughts:Another good and light Argeneau vampire novel. I truly like that about this series. And once again, this one can easily be read as a standalone novel. I have only read 3 out of 6, but it works. There is a new couple in each, and the whole vampire thing is explained to the newbies. I have only read 3 out of 6, but it works. There is a new couple in each, and the whole vampire thing is explained to the newbies. Trust me on this.In this one a woman, Leigh is out walking and gets attacked. Luckily for her Lucian comes to the rescue as he is hunting down her attacker. Since she is bitten he explains things to her *coughs*, ok he tries, he calls in help, and he is pretty bad at the whole thing. That is what I liked most about him, for someone among the oldest in the world (talking BC here), he is pretty bad at certain things. He is the grumpy grandpa that has given up on sex and food, since why bother at all. What can I say, I liked him, especially in one scene where he buys books about how to talk to woman. Leigh then, well she comes to term with the whole vampire/nano thing pretty fast. But she has been hurt by a man in the past so she is not that keen on falling in love, or lust with anyone. These books are light, there is some humour, and there is some passion. I just sat down and read it fast, and I do like books like that. You can just relax, sit back and read a cute story about a couple falling in love. Though as always there is some danger in them too, here it's the guy that bit her and he will be back at the end. What next, well I would really like to see Marguerite's book. That would be fun (nr 9 it seems ;)Conclusion:The whole vampire thing is still interesting, I do like the story of Atlantis and how "vampires" were created. The lightness and humour in the books make them fun reads. Cute and fast.Rating:They are enjoyable

This is book 6 is the Argeneau Vampire Series and I loved it.Lucian Argeneau, who is uncle to the people in the earlier books, is a hunter of rogue vampires and he has come to Kansas City to hunt one when he finds Leigh, a recently turned vampire.Lucian has been alone for a long time, since his family was lost in the fall of Atlantis. After a series of events he is left with having to look after Leigh and help her through her turning - he also finds he cannot read her which means she could be his life mate. Both Lucian and Leigh have to come to terms with that one.

Two Minute Review for “Bite Me If You Can” by Lynsay SandsLeigh was bitten by a rogue vampire and is saved by Lucian Argeneau. Lucian is sort of a police man of the vampire nation. It turns out the rogue wants Leigh back. Between helping her learn to control the thirst, protecting her and cleaning up after the dog, Lucian is a very busy vampire. I enjoyed the first part of the book. A man out of his element is funny and touching. I think parts of the book bogged down. There is not a lot of action in the middle and a lot of character interaction between Lucian and Leigh.

I liked this story of a woman coming to terms with becoming a vampire and an old vampire coming to terms with his life-mate.Both characters were independent people who had to come to terms with being dependent on each other and relax their stress about trusting another person.Fun reading and I look forward to reading more in this series.
