About this audiobook

With a head more suited to bookkeeping than a bridal veil, Ida's dreams include big business- not beaus.

Ida Sinclair has joined her sisters, Kat and Nell, in the untamed mining town of Cripple Creek, Colorado for one reason: to work for the infamous but undeniably successful businesswoman, Mollie O'Bryan. Ida's sisters may be interested in making a match for their determined older sister, but Ida only wants to build her career.

Under Mollie's tutelage, Ida learns how to play the stock market and revels in her promising accomplishments. Fighting for respect in a man's world, her ambition leaves little room for distractions. She ignores her family's reservations about Mollie O'Bryan's business practices, but no matter how she tries, she can't ignore the two men pursuing her affections-Colin Wagner, the dashing lawyer, and Tucker Raines, the traveling preacher.

Ida wants a career more than anything else, so she shrugs off the suitors and pointed "suggestions" that young ladies don't belong in business. Will it take unexpected love-or unexpected danger-for Ida to realize where her priorities truly lie?

Mona takes you to small western town and brings the challenges of being a woman entrepreneur in a man's world to the reader's heart. The struggles faced can easily be those of today's yet the setting allows for the chivalry of years gone by.

A satisfying read that gives a bit of mystery, struggle and family ties that enables your heart to be warmed and stirred to hope again.

The town of Cripple Creek and the folks in it are starting to grow on me, and so are the Sinclair sisters. They each have their own distinct personalities. This was book two in this series and it really is a good idea to read them in order so you get to know the town and the sisters better. This story was about the oldest Sinclair sister, Ida, who arrives in Cripple Creek ready to be a successful businesswoman in a town that doesn't look favorably on women who involve themselves in the man's business world. Ida has no interest in pursuing a relationship with either Colin Wagner, the lawyer, or Tucker Raines, the preacher, but then sometimes the heart just doesn't listen to ones well laid out plans. This story was a good sequel to book one and had a lighthearted tone to it, but also dealt with some lessons on forgiveness, family loyalty, and learning to put the right goals first place in ones life. It had alot of good messages woven throughout this story and I enjoyed my time in Cripple Creek and look forward to book 3 (and just learned that there is a book four coming out soon).

Too Rich To Be A Bride - By Mona Hodgson is a story about two characters who's lives are full of dreams and responsibilities yet who are both very much alone. This book was pretty good. Ida is the oldest Sinclair sister (and this is the 2nd book in the series). She is determined to be a business woman though it seems everyone opposes it! She doesn't move to Colorado to find a husband but to find success! She has to deal with lots of matchmaking, but there are two good choices so who will it be? She also has some decisions to make about some business practices...I like that Ida isn't easily intimidated and is determined to find her success. The secondary characters are entertaining and bring a lot to the story. I would have liked a little more character development for her two male choices, a lawyer and a preacher. I liked them but it felt something was missing. This is a 4/5. A good, quick read that isn't too heavy!Thank you to LibraryThing for the review copy of this book. I received this book in exchange for an honest review and the opinions stated above are 100% mine.

This is pretty standard fare for the Christian Historical Romance genre. I thought it was an enjoyable enough read, but I'm glad I didn't pay money for it (got it from Early Reviewers). The plot drags a bit at times and none of the characters are particularly compelling. However, the writing is above average and the story doesn't get bogged down in preaching by the author. I would take this out of the library, but wouldn't recomend spending money on it.

Started out a little slow, but turned out well in the end. Selfishness and success balanced well.

Too Rich for a Bride is the second book in the Sinclair Sisters of Cripple Creek series. I didn't know that this book was a series (the only note of it being a series is on the back of the book in smaller font)- so I was a bit confused at first. The book was enjoyable. I found the character to be a little more unique than other Christian historical fiction. I can't say I have ever read one about the stock market before. One of the lesser characters in this book was named Mollie O'Bryan.... for some reason- I couldn't stop thinking of "Unisinkable Mollie Brown"- I am curious if the author knew their names and personalities were so similar? This book was enjoyable- but it did lack in character development. I finished the book in an afternoon, and while it was enjoyable- I can't say it is memorable. I read it yesterday and am already having trouble recalling details about the book.

I really enjoyed this second in the series. This book continued the story of the four sisters. Their interaction was very well done. Early Colorado historical fiction is about my favorite topic. This whole story was very believable and I hope the fourth sister will be included in a new book in this series. Well written historical ficition.

Even though this was the second book of a series, this book did very well on it's own and I didn't feel like I was thrown into the middle of a story line, as I had not read the first book. I enjoyed reading about how this amibitious, young woman struggled to succeed in business in a frontier town in Colorado. The story is an inspirational romance, the characters are likeable and interesting to follow. I may even try to get the first and third books to complete the series. I would like to thank the Early Reviewers program for the opportunity to review this book..

This is the second book in The Sinclair Sisters of Cripple Creek. You do not have to read the first book to understand this one as there is enough background given. Ida is interesting in building up her career , but keeps meeting up with the local preacher.

This is the second book in The Sinclair Sisters of Cripple Creek series. It is the first one I’ve read and it works easily as a stand-alone novel. The author woks enough of the storyline from the other sisters into the book so the reader doesn’t feel as if something is missing. Although the romance is a major part of the story, equally important is the spiritual and life lessons each of the characters learns. At first, Ida never questions her drive to be a “woman of business” in the growing frontier town in Colorado. But subtle and not-so-subtle opposition begin to cause tiny doubts. She also trusts her own ability to be a good judge of character, after two near disasters in her relationships shake up her confidence.Relating to the characters is easy thanks to the well-molded development of the story. Each of the main characters has the opportunity to make choices and grow. The secondary characters are likeable and add to the storyline. Overall, I would recommend this book and this author.I received my copy through Blogging for Books in exchange for this review. This arrangement does not require that I write a positive review.
