About this audiobook

The fourth and final book in the Magic in Manhattan series, following the bewitchingly funny novels Bras & Broomsticks, Frogs & French Kisses and Spells & Sleeping Bags!

Perfect hair, cute clothes, healthy tans-life's a breeze when you're a witch! Even special witchcraft classes Rachel agrees to attend with Miri turn out to be fun. The sisters meet other teen witches just like them-who knew? Everyone's preparing for a magical party called a Samsorta-a debutante ball for witches. And it wouldn' t be a ball without warlocks. Cute ones. Like Adam, who wants to slow dance with Rachel, and ski with her in the Rockies-on a school night! Of course, Rachel is madly in love with her boyfriend, Raf. So why can't she bring herself to tell Adam-funny, charming Adam-that Raf exists?

Rachel knows Raf likes her. Maybe even, gulp, loves her. But Raf doesn't know her secret. Unlike Adam, Raf doesn't know who she really is. And she can never tell him. Or can she?

"Just as funny and appealing as the first three. . . . Clever."  -Booklist

"Satisfying . . . a fun, light read." --Kirkus Reviews

"Especially memorable for the very real depiction of sisters who love and support each other." --VOYA

4th in the Magic in Manhattan series. This one has Rachel and Miri practicing for the witch version of a bat mitzvah. Miri has found a website just for witches called mywitchboook.com and is trying to network with other witches. A new character is added in this book, Wendaline, a young witch who is attending school with Rachel. Rachel tries to change everything about this other witch. Rachel also starts having problems with her powers. We learn that she is not being true to herself or to the others in her life and it's affecting her magic. The girls tell their father that they are witches and he freaks out. With that in mind Rachel breaks up with her boyfriend. Rachel learns to be true to herself and finally comes clean with her boyfriend.

Much better than I'd expected this to be when the review envelope crossed my desk. I haven't read the rest of the series, but judging from this fourth offering, it's light and breezy and actually kinda fun. It's nice to see books that don't take themselves too seriously in their bubble-headedness!

My biggest quibble with it is the 7-legged spider on the cover, and used as section breaks within the chapters. I'd love to know where that last leg is.

Rachel Weinstein is so happy! Her Birthday is coming up, she is no longer a freshman at high school, and she is meeting new friends who are witches just like her! Is this her perfect year? Or will it turn into a disaster?

I love this Magic in Manhattan book; it's better than the first.I enjoyed the transportation to different places around the world; it was really cool. I especially like the parts of the story which includes the witchcraft community; the two sisters(Rachel and Miri)having a Samsorta. And when they went to the Witch and Warlocks Community Center and met other witches and warlocks. Did you guys like the part of the story when they went to the cafeteria at the community center; all they had to do were put their hands on the tables and say what they wanted to eat and-poof!- it pops up? It was very cool! Check out:1) sarahm.com2)magicinmanhattan.com

Okay, I thought that "Magic in Manhattan" was a trilogy, but yet a fourth book has been released in the series! I actually enjoyed this one much better than the others, probably because I now feel vested in the characters. I enjoyed the expanding of the story to include more about the witch world. The new characters, especially Wendaline, are a great addition.

My granddaughters are in love with this series and are hoping for more. All three girls agree that the 1st and the 4th books are their favorites. They especially love to listen to these books on long drives where the whole family can enjoy them too

Finished listening to this on the way home from work. I really like the girl who reads these. Rachel finally deals with telling her friends and family and Raf about her powers, Miri gets a boyfriend and the girls have a Samsorta (like a bar mitzvah for witches.) Not everyone react wonderfully but eventually everyone comes around, including Rachel herself.

As in the previous books, some things are predictable but the books are so much fun that it isn't really an issue. This is the first volume where Rachel didn't do something so over the top that I got nervous. This one was more about Rachel's internal conflict.

Parties & Potients was the best book of the Magic in Manhattan series in my opinion. I loved it. It made me wish I could have a Samsorta. Cross your fingers for a 5th one.
