      AN AMISH LOVE by Beth Wiseman,Kathleen Fuller, and Kelly Long is a delightful Amish romance.It is a novella of three short stories."Healing Hearts" by Beth Wiseman,"What the HeartSees" by Kathleen Fuller, and "A Marriage of the Heart"by Kelly Long. These three authors have compiled three stories of love,faith,hope,forgiveness,community,marriage of convenience, redemption,family, leaving the past behind,moving on to the future with witty banter between some of the characters.They have also compiled some Amish recipes at the back of the book with reading questions.I would recommend this book especially if you enjoy sweet,tender,Amish romance by three wonderful and talented authors.A MUST READ!!.It is quick and fast paced read.       CoverThe Amish women's kapp laying slightly over top of the Amish men's wide-brimmed hat seems so sweet and romantic. The simple, but charming, photograph is a subtle portrayal of the quietness of Amish relationships.Plots & CharactersIn Healing Hearts, Levina is of a stronger character than I could be. With her husband gone for almost a year and then suddenly, he's back ... that would take a spiritually big person to be able to forgive. I don't know that I could do it. I did appreciate the fact that Ms. Wiseman made Levina a more assertive person in the Lapp family. Seeing Naaman shocked at such forwardness from his wife served him right. Did he not expect Levina to change during his 11-month absence?A Marriage of the Heart was sweet and humorous. Abigail got what she wanted and then some. There's a reason why people quote "You'd better be careful what you ask for!" =) Joseph and Abigail were a wonderful and spirited couple. I would have loved for them to be real so I could get to know them and befriend them.Last, but certainly not least, is What the Heart Sees. I love the fact that Ellie is blind, but not vulnerable or weak. She has her own booming business even! I related to her independence and stubbornness. Christopher knew just how to handle her without being overprotective. He saw how capable Ellie was and allowed her to be her own person. The two were a great match for each other.OverallIt's nice, now and then, to read a book (or books in this case) that is simple yet satisfying. An Amish Love brings together three different stories involving the same Amish community. And, even though they're in the same collection, each of these stories can stand on its own. I adored this collection for its simplicity, nostalgia and sweetness. This would be the perfect book to read while soaking in a tub or lounging on your favorite chair.

      I am usually a fan of the Amish romance novels. So when An Amish Love came up for review, I jumped at the chance. Heck, there are 3 novellas in one book (Healing Hearts, A Marriage of the Heart, and What the Heart Sees) so I figured it was a good deal! I think these novella are a nice, Sunday afternoon read if you're snowed in or something but they weren't page-turners or can't-put-it-down stories. As all Amish romances go, it was pretty predictable but the novella format kind of rushed the stories. One chapter the characters just met and two chapters later, they're in love. I think there could have been more development of the characters and stories if these novellas had been made into individual books. There seemed to be some contradictions in the stories with the Amish lifestyle. I haven't read anything where a husband leaves the wife for a year with no contact. Maybe that's allowed but, with all the books I've read & reviewed, I'd never heard of it. Another was the acceptance of a shunned member back into the fold. Either the story wasn't developed enough, or there was just an assumption that his acceptance had gone through all the channels. But it still doesn't jive with the stories I've read. All in all, it was a decent book to read and pass the time but I don't know if I'd pay money for it at $14.99.

      I loved all 3 stories in this book. Out of all 3, I would have to say What the Heart Sees is my favorite. I will start with that one first. Eliie is blind by a car accident which also took her best friends life. She copes and after a while she even has her own business of making jellies from any kind of fruit. Christopher Miller left the Amish community after his fiance' passed away. Ellie's cousin is going to marry Christopher's sister which makes everyone happy, but Christopher. He can not get passed that Ellie's cousin was the one driving the car 5 years ago that killed his fiance'. He can not understand why his sister is betraying him by marrying this man. Everyone else has forgiven this man it has been 5 years and life must move on. To Christopher however he can not get passed it until he spends time with Ellie. What happens next is magical.A Marriage of the Heart is a remarkable story. Rachel tells her father that Joseph Lambert has kissed her and touched her. They go right away over to where Joseph lives and her father demands they get married it is the Amish way when this happens. Joseph tried to deny it at first until the Bishop explained to him he will get thrown out of the community. Joseph rethinks the idea and confesses he did indeed kiss Rachel. They were married in 5 minutes. Rachel was happy to get away from her fathers house that is until Joseph ask her father if they can stay there with him. He can help out with the farming and chores. Rachel was not happy at this news and regretted telling such a wild story. She is stuck now. I loved the humor in this story. Joseph sleeps on the floor by Rachel's bed until she is comfortable in their marriage which takes a while. He picks at her just to see her blush. The story is really cute and the ending is perfect.Healing Hearts was a nice read about true love. Naaman abandons his family and goes to see his cousin in Ohio. After a year of being gone he just shows up at his home and acts like nothing ever happened. He has shocked his poor wife Levina when he walks through the door. She wants answers and Naaman slowly tells her some of his reasonings for being gone for so long. A few of their children, 2 to be exact are not thrilled at all he is home after what he put their mother through. The other 3 are happy their father has returned. Will his reasons be enough to mend their marriage and get forgiveness from his children?The big reason I loved theses stories was they all mingled together so to speak. Each story took place in the same town and community and the other characters were mentioned in the next story. It was like reading the lives of 3 couples in the same town who knew the same people. ( That makes better sense ). I really enjoyed this read and did not want to put it down.

      This is a new twist on the Amish stories, in this book the people are coming back home after that have left the community asking for forgiveness. The book is made up of three wonderful stories, each by a different author with all of them interacting, the first one is "A Marriage of The Heart by Kelly Long" and in this one is about Abigail Kauffman who finds her husband by telling lies, Joseph Lambert didn't know what hit him, he was asleep and the next thing he knew he was married, really in the middle of the night. What some young ladies want do....but there are hidden things in Joseph past that comes to surface after they are married awhile.The second story is "What The Heart Sees by Kathleen Fuller" and it finds Ellie Chupp at her father's house when she lives alone with him since her mama passed away, She wakes up in the very early morning from another one of her night mares, she prays that God will take those away after five years. Then in comes Christopher Miller who had left the Amish community and had a good job, a nice apartment but something was missing in his life, he decided that he needed to go back home and pray that the people would take him back. A lot of these stories takes place in and around "Yoder's Pantry" a place where everyone comes for a good meal. Ellie is blind from an accident but she has been taught how to do things even with her blindness, she cooks and makes Ellie's Jellies to see at Yoder's Pantry. Will Christopher be taken back into the Amish community? The third story in the book is "Healing Water by Beth Wiseman" and it is about a couple after they have raised their five children and all of them are gone. It is what we call "Empty Nest" and my husband and I have been through this. Naaman and Levina Lapp had come to a part in their lives that they had nothing in common anymore and didn't know how to handle just those two in the house, so Naaman decides he will leave and goes to his cousin's home in Middlefield and stays gone for eleven months. Levina had a very hard time accepting this so did the children. When he returns on his heels in come a sheriff from Middlefield looking for Naaman, now what had Naaman done while he was away to have a sheriff looking for him, this had the whole town whispering trying to keep it away from everyone else, so funny, everyone knew except Naaman and if they had let him in on it things may have turned out better. The couple has to start their relationship over and learn about each other again. Very moving and touching story as I know what they were going through.I rate this book with 5 stars.The book was sent to me free from Book Sneeze a department of Thomas Nelson Publishers for my honest review.

      These novellas were a bit different from other Amish. I did not find the stories especially engaging or believable. A girl who lies to her father, to get a young man in trouble with the community finds herself being manipulated instead. In the second story, another lie is told to hide a secret. And in the third, a husband and father abandons his father for nearly a year, to find himself. The stories were entertaining, if a bit far fetched.

      “Healing Hearts” by Beth Wiseman
      This book is a compilation of three novellas all centered around the love lives of a group of intertwined Amish women. The first story, Healing Hearts, takes a look at a couple who’ve been through marriage, raising their children, and a difficult separation when Naaman leaves for an extended visit with his cousins. This story tore at my heart in such a beautiful fashion. Levina’s grief and mistrust in her husband, the uncertainty between them, the way Beth wrote them trying to come back together – all of it was so absolutely beautiful. I have become a huge Beth Wiseman fan and will definitely be keeping her in my spotlight.

      “What the Heart Sees” by Kathleen Fuller
      Once again, Kathleen rocks me with her sweet and simple romance. Ellie is a strong and capable character, but unsure of her future because of the blindness she feels responsible for. And Christopher is dealing with so much loss – not just his girlfriend, but his entire family and community as he’s left the Amish to live as an English. This was another story that just tugged at me. The lovely way Kathleen writes her family bonds is just about perfect, and I definitely have more of her work on my to be read shelf.

      “A Marriage of the Heart” by Kelly Long
      Having now read two of these novella compilations, I realize that Kelly takes harder topics and melds them with her Amish characters. This time young Rachel tells a terrible lie which causes a forced marriage to Joseph – someone who’s just come back to the community. I really wanted to smack the girl upside the head multiple times throughout the story, but Joseph was a total doll – sweet, caring, slightly sarcastic. I’m looking at Kelly’s writing a little differently after this novella and would definitely read more of her work.

Yearning to get away from her cold father, she tricks Joseph Lambert into marrying her. Joseph is recently returned to the Amish community after living among the Englisch and is struggling with the demons in his past. Will these two lost souls find true love?"A Marriage of the Heart" was my least favorite story in the collection. The marriage of convenience plot line seemed an odd one for an Amish novel and I never quite bought the premise that the Bishop, Joseph, or Abigail's father would allow this to happen. I never much liked Abigail's character, and I found it hard to believe that other Amish woman would not have taught her how to cook after her mother died. I think the real problem with the story was the length - this would have been a better book if it was a longer novel in which the characters could have been developed more."What the Heart Seeks" by Kathleen Fuller.After five years Ellie Chupp has learned to adjust to losing her eyesight in a tragic accident. In fact, she is fiercely independent. Christopher Miller has not adjusted so well - his girlfriend died in the accident and he was Shunned shortly after that. Now he is back but not sure he can forgive the person he blames for the accident. Ellie might be able to heal his heart - if he lets her.I really enjoyed "What the Heart Seeks". Author Kathleen Fuller has created two believable characters who have suffered a great deal because of tragedy and find in each other the ability to finally heal. Ellie is a complex character - strong enough to deal with her blindness, even starting her own business, yet vulnerable, believing that no man would want to be burdened by a blind wife. Christopher's struggles with Caroline's death are very believable, as well as his struggles to forgive those involved in the accident. Despite the seemingly dark plot line, the romance between Ellie and Christopher was very sweet and will warm reader's hearts."Healing Hearts" by Beth WisemanFor reasons even he can't explain, Naaman Lapp left his wife and family and went to live with his cousin for eleven months. Now he is back, but his wife Levina has learned to live without him and niether one is sure where Naaman will fit into her new life. Not only does Naaman have to win back Levina's trust, but that of his children. As he struggles to do so, Naaman begins to realize that his leaving and return may have been part of God's plan."Healing Hearts" is a nicely done story. It is not too often that romance novels feature older adults involved in romance, and it was interesting to read as Levina and Naaman fall in love again. Levina's emotions are very believable as she struggles with her feelings for Naaman. Also well done is the way each of his children react to their father's return especially their son Adam. Wiseman does a good job of showing how, even with Naaman's leaving, the Lapps are a close-knit, loving family. There is also a side plot (which I won't spoil here) that adds a bit of mystery (and sadness) to the book. At the end, while I was happy for the Lapp family, I was sorry my visit with them was over."An Amish Love" is a nice collection of stories set in the Amish community.

      The first story of the book was “A Marriage of the Heart”. Rachel lies to her father saying Joseph was inappropriate with her which leads to a rush wedding. It was a fun read and I really like the characters. It was fun to read as the two first disliked each other and then fell in love.The second story was “What the Heart Sees”. Ellie was blinded in a car accident years ago and her best friend killed. Christopher was engaged to Ellie’s best friend and he was devastated and left the community and was shunned. He returns to find his sister engaged to the man he blames for his fiancé's death. Ellie helps him to forgive and they both find love along the way.The third story “A Marriage of the Heart” I did not read. I read the first few pages and skimmed a few more but I was not interested in the story. What I did read of it was well written.I really enjoyed the two stories I read. I had trouble putting the book down. I tend to not buy books where there are multiple stories because I am not sure I will like them all. But in this case I did enjoy two of the three and the third was just not one that I was interested in(older couple romance).If you like Amish Fiction you will enjoy this book!

      I had to force myself to read the first story (A Marriage of the Heart by Kelly Long). On a one to five star rating, I would only give this story half a star. The characters appeared to be more Englisch than Amish and they did not appeal to me at all.Kathleen Fuller wrote "What the Heart Sees.” Sarah Lynne is marrying Isaiah. Everyone should be happy but when Sarah's brother returns from the Englisch world, the wedding may not take place. The story was well written but I would have enjoyed it more as a full-fledged novel instead of a novella. Fuller stuffed too much information into too few chapters. Still, I would give this story 3 stars.Beth Wiseman contributed "Healing Hearts.” I give it three stars also. Again, I felt that this story would do better as a stand-alone novel instead of a novella. There was too much focus on Naaman's return and too little on the Middlefield sheriff's attempt to find Naaman or Adam's feelings toward his father. In a stand alone novel, the author could have devoted more time and space to these subjects.
