      Patterson (or 'team' Patterson, since apparently there are a lot of people whose writing gets squashed into the pen name Patterson) still annoys me with those super short chapters, I suppose intended to convey heightened tension, but that feel cheap and unnecessary. This book wasn't as bad as some, though, and the twist near the end is pretty good. Overall, this book reminded me a bit of an NCIS episode, and I'm not sure yet which writing team I think told the story better. This is a decent book, if you are looking for an adventure novel that is absorbing but that doesn't require complete concentration. It looks long, but is a very fast read (partly because after a while the chapters are all pretty short, leaving lots of white space and making the pages turn faster.)

      6 out of 10 The second book in the private series that I have read. I'm currently on a James Patterson marathon. This book is OK. I quite liked it. It was fast paced and mostly easy to follow. As mentioned in previous reviews of this book, there is so much going on though. It all takes place in just over 48 hours but so much occurs in that time. However the tell tale Patterson short chapters soon have me hooked and I finished it in a short time. I will be reading the next few in series as I already have them.

      Two stories rolled into one. Hard to follow all the characters. The story starts out with a young girl, Hannah Shapiro, who is kidnapped along with her mother. Hannah witnesses her mother being raped then brutally murdered because Hannah's father won't pay the ransom. Several years later, Dan Carter is hired to "watch over" Hannah while she attends school in London. There are many twists and turns in this story which makes it hard to follow.

      This is one of the better James Patterson books I've read or listened to in a while. It was fast-paced all of his books though I think they did a decent job of giving it a London feel. This one had 2 different stories running at the same time. A girl is kidnapped and 2 others are injured and two other women are found dead, mutilated and missing a finger. Everyone is hoping they aren't related.The whole story takes place in about 3 days so it is pretty fast-paced and keeps your interest going. I listened to this one while commuting and it certainly helped the miles fly by.

      Mass produced fluff, but a quick and enjoyable read. He's churning out these Private titles at a ridiculous rate with the co writers. Liked the character development here but he left some plots unfinished. What was the explosion in the underground if it wasn't either Shapiro?

      I thought that this was one of Patterson's better books and I don't know if I should attribute that to him or his co-author. It had the typical short chapters and was a page-turner. However, the thing that intregued me most was that there were several plot twists in the last 1/3rd of the book that I never saw coming. I hope that this co-author continues to write w/ Patterson on future books.

      Not quite up the normal James Patterson but still a good read. I thought the ending became rushed but was explained later so alls forgiven!

      Another great book in the Private series. This one concentrates on the London office and Dan Carter who heads up that location for Jack Morgan. He is supposed to protect an American girl who is headed to London for college. She is kidnapped and all hell breaks loose. True Patterson style there are twist and turns, people don't appear to be who they are and he keeps you guessing until the very end. I really enjoyed this book and recommend the Private series if you like the Alex Cross series.

      This series is so full of edge of the seat action. I listen to this series because I am also a lover of great accents. DI Dan Carter has a very strong accent. :) The London story doesn't miss out on any of what we would expect from a James Patterson novel. The man is (in my opinion) gifted.

      I have not read Patterson before. And after this book I won´t be reading more. A lot of fluff punctuated by a so so plot. Nothing new or surprising here.
