About this audiobook

Veronica Cruz has been through hell and back. After disconnecting with the world two years ago to be at the side of her dying mother, she's left alone, unemployed, overweight, and feeling a decade older than her twenty-eight years. When her best friend coaxes her into joining the local gym to ditch her depression and rejuvenate her life, she meets Noah. Assigned to help Veronica lose weight, Noah is everything she expected a young trainer to be-perfectly chiseled, supportive and motivating. Add to that, he's incredibly sexy. He's everything she's ever looked for in a man. What she least expected was for him to fall for her, but he has. There's just one glaring problem: Noah is eight years younger.

Noah Quintanilla has his eye on a boxing title-someday. Down for a few months with an injury, his maintenance boy pay at 5th Street Gym won't cut it. He's finally given the opportunity to train. The catch? His trainee is an out-of-shape woman with a free week pass. Taking on the challenge, Noah stumbles into one of the closest friendships he's ever known, and before he knows it, he's in love. But Veronica's not having it-the age difference is too much. Their platonic relationship means having to watch her date other men-something that would make him crazy. Believing he's the man for her, Noah sets out to prove that age is but an illusion and that there's more to him than just a number.

The female protagonist was butch and I didn't care for her

You know, I've read all the books in this series. It would've gotten a 4 (or 5) had I not been expecting something else. In this series, my expectation was that the villian in the previous books would have been dealt with. I was expecting this humongous showdown between the protagonist and the villian. I was expecting Noah to remain truly alpha. I think my biggest disappointment was with Syreena, although not a major player in this book, she nonetheless aggravated me the most. I still love this series, the characters and this book, but my expectation got in the way.

If reviewing objectively, this was an exciting book. The characters are well written and the world built by this author is fun to read about. Isabella the first female character introduced in this series is AWESOME and I love her most. I still recommend this series to others; but again those expectations dampened by excitment some.

Last (for now), but definitely not least, in the series is Noah. The Demon King has no intentions in claiming a mate, for his only goal is to protect his kind from their human and Nightwalker enemies. But for the past six months this has become more and more difficult for him. Not only have most of his friends found their significant others, but he has been having vivid dreams of a woman that has him on the brink of madness. When he finally gets the courage to go out of his way and find this mysterious woman, knowing that she is his mate, it is only to watch her die. He risks everything (from relationships to his life) on a daring experiment to go back in time and save her. But even saving her may not be enough, because now he has to find a way to win the heart of a woman so scarred she may not be able to love.Kestra is a successful mercenary who works for the highest bidder, but she is also a woman who has suffered terrible losses in her life. When she finds herself running from danger and lands in the arms of a powerful male, she can't help but wonder where she's seen him before.I have to admit that this is the book that I looked forward to the most throughout this series. You meet Noah from the first book and you can't help but look forward to the day where you read his story... and I was not disappointed. This book had everything romance, mystery, suspense, it was sensual and erotic. It had the perfect blend of all these elements that made it such a fantastic read. Kestra's story was heartbreaking - the trauma and loss that she suffered brought tears to my eyes and I am so glad that she found her mate in Noah. Someone who could protect and treasure her, yet let her be the strong vibrant woman that she is. Obviously there was plenty of scuffle between them while they got the gist of their relationship... with a lot of tantrums, tears and walking-off moments, but nonetheless, this is what made them unique and endearing in my eyes.Although there are still quite a few loose ends, especially when it comes to the bad guys who seem to be MIA throughout this story, but hopefully that will be remedied when Ms. Frank publishes the next book in the series. I'm not sure who that will story will be about - but I can't wait to find out.

Well Noah's story was by far, not at all what i was expecting in a good way though. It was really good, Im actually a little upset that this is that last book, I personally feel like there are a lot of unsolved problems and a lot of suspence left to some main characters. Over all I did love the book, Noah and Kestra's story is pretty harsh, very tear jerking yet super "hot", there are plenty of side stories that keep the book moving along pretty fast. Over a great book, wish there could be more in this perticular series.

This is the fifth book in Jacquelyn Frank's series Nightwalkers. This is a thicker book than all the previous books. I wondered why until I finished it. There is a lot of stuff going on in this book. All the characters are here but it is Noah who is the main character in this book. We are shown different sides of Noah. Some not so pretty. I was glad that J. Frank did this. It gave Noah a more real presence than he has had before. Now we see the torment that Noah has had inside him for many many years. We understand why he has acted to protective to Legna and why it is so hard for him to accept the new feelings he is having concerning a mate. I did find some of the book frustrating with the going back and forth between events and characters. It seemed almost confusing at first trying to follow all that was going on between everyone. Especially when I expected this book to be like the previous books and concentrate on just on main character. For that reason, I did find it difficult to get through. The plot was great, just not so much going on at once. I stuck with the book and decided not to give up on it. I almost wish I did. I was very disappointed at the ending. I felt slighted that it just stopped where it did. Should another one come out I will go ahead and get it in the hopes that it will not leave me hanging like this one did. I cannot understand what J. Frank was thinking by doing this after writing 4 previous great books. As far a recommending, well yes I guess I would but hesitantly. You need to have a bit of patience with this one.

the last book in the series...a disappointing read; instead, the story was very slow and tended to drag a bit....the heroine was a little annoying...expected more from the character Demon King Noah

Like all her previous books in this series, Frank has managed to do it yet again-- create a perfect romance novel that is a combination of lust, love, adventure, suspense, paranormal, hot alpha males, and yes, even humor. Combined with the fact that the book setting's 'world' has vampires, demons, lycanthropes, and many other species in it, all of her Nightwalker books, especially 'Noah' , are brillant books, 5 stars! No paranormal romance reader could ask for more in their books! Sexy, funny, loving, sad, full of suspense and adventure, and filled with the very hot *literally!* Noah, Demon King, this book is perfect. If you're already a fan, then you've probably already read it or you are reading it right now. And if you are not, then I've got to ask : "Why not?!" Oh, and a little note to all potential readers out there? Grab a bunch of tissues AND a fan before you read it! Because you will cry at times, and for most of the rest of the book, you'll need something to help cool you down after reading about Noah and his awesome sexy-ness... and his bedroom skills! :) Before reading this book, my favorite alpha male from her series was probably Jacob or Gideon, because they were the first ones she 'introduced' us to (along with some other reasons why I loved them so much), but now I have to say that Noah has taken over the 'Number 1' spot on my list.. Sorry Jacob, Gideon, I promise, you guys are still a close second!

Oh, oh, oh. I'm still riding high after finishing "Noah" by Jacquelyn Frank, book five of her 'Nightwalkers' series. This series has everything I want in a paranormal romance/urban fantasy: mega-hot heroes, strong heroines, vampires, demons, and weres (Oh, my).Kestra is a successful mercenary who uses her intelligence, agility, and highly trained body. She's also a woman who has suffered horrible loss and lives with survivor guilt every day. Until one evening, on a mission gone bad, she's saved by a walking wet dream that screams danger to her highly trained senses. And even though she knows they've never met, he somehow seems familiar...Noah is the King of the Demons, but he's alone. For the last six months, he has struggled with his demon urges more than ever before because he's been dreaming of his mate but doesn't know her name or her face. When he finally finds her, it's only to watch her die...and he snaps. He risks everything on a daring experiment to warp time to save her. But even saving her may not be enough, because now he has to find a way to win the heart of a woman so scarred...she may not be able to love. With enemies closing in and Samhain only days away, the clock is ticking for Noah.I adore this series. And Noah's book is everything I'd hoped it would be. His woman isn't perfect, but she's perfect for him. And Noah must admit his weaknesses to win her heart...a King...admit weakness? This series is so detailed, so intricate, so enthralling--I don't think it's possible to read just one! And the best news is that it's not over. Jacquelyn Frank intends to drive the plot in a new direction with the publication of "Ecstasy: The Shadowdwellers" to be released in early January 2009. You can bet I'll be waiting at the bookstore.
