About this audiobook
On a September day in 1821, in the church of a Yorkshire village, a man and six children stood around a grave. They were burying a woman: the man's wife, the children's mother. The children were all very young, and within a few years the two oldest were dead, too. Close to the wild beauty of the Yorkshire moors, the father brought up his young family. Who had heard of the Brontes of Haworth then? Branwell died young, but his sisters became famous writers. But they did not live to grow old or to enjoy their fame. Only their father was left, alone with his memories.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is a true story that happened 200 years ago. The three writers crossed their lives with tragedies, and they never got any chance to be old. But when they are covered by the icy stones in the graveyard, the books they wrote have touched thousands of people. The three children of Bronte are three of the best writers in 19th century, this book tell their live story. Their father brought them up by hisself, their mother died when they are small, their sisters were robbed by the illness, they worked hard but nothing was paid back, and at last , they died in a young age. But so what? The thing that is most valuble for a writer is his or her story is told from people to people, and the three Bronte did that.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This story is about the famous "Bronte sisters". They lost their mother when they were still children, and had a very hard time with their poor father and the other brothers. But, they didn't give up despite many unhappiness. They all wrote wonderful stories, and those are just the books we have been attracted strongly! After reading this book, I noticed that I haven't known about them at all in spite of having read their books and liked it. This one is not a tale, so I can't say this is very fun , but I found it very interesting and useful when I want to know their rough background and make our reading better with those knowledges. Actually, now I think I can understand their stories more than before. I want to go home soon and read volume two of Jane Eyre!
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This is a story of famous Bronte sisters.Patrick Bronte and Maria bronte had had 6 children,5 daughters and a son.I thought this story was too sad.Though I know children had been likely to die in those days.I had not known Bronte sisters and not heard about their works until I read this book.I am interested in their works now.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5This is the worst book I ever read this year. Ifelt it was quite boring. The story is always dark and sad. So I did not want to keep reading.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5In this book, the lives of famous writers, Bronte , were written from their father's sight. This is a real story, bad the ending is so sad. Mr. Bronte's life is maybe happy bad also sad.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This is a true story about the Bronte girls. They had a special talent for writing, but their lives were not easy. There were always troubles in their lives.Though they wrote great books, they used men's names instead. Because no one thought woman can write good books.I was surprised at this. It's little difficult for me to read. But,this book is very substantical. I like this book.
