About this audiobook
No one had ever looked at her and seen perfection—until now.
Delicate, titian-haired Theresa Noble has met her father’s associates in the past, but the gorgeous, Italian-born Sandro De Lucci leaves her speechless. Eighteen months into their marriage, however, Sandro has turned to ice. Desperate to escape a relationship that has proven to be as stubbornly passionate as it is cold and hateful, Theresa summons up the courage to ask for a divorce. But before he’ll grant her request, Sandro demands something from Theresa: a son.
The stalemate sickens her. Never mind that Sandro has yet to introduce Theresa to the large family that means so much to him. Or that Theresa overhears her husband on the phone with a mystery woman. Most damning is that Theresa senses, in Sandro’s treatment of her, the behind-the-scenes machinations of Jackson Noble, her cruel father. From the depths of her anxiety, Theresa must seek an empowering truth about the husband who calls her, with such cold affection, his cara, his beloved.
Revised edition: This edition of The Unwanted Wife includes editorial revisions.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I listened on audio and the narration was first rate. This is no 1 on my like list. But the story. I absolutely loved it. A beautiful love story between Sandro and Theresa. I read numerous five star reviews on Amazon and thought I would read this story. It is probably one of the most wonderful stories I have read. I’m about to listen to another Natasha Anders book. I can’t wait. I have been reading books since I was 13. I am now 63. Treat yourself to a wonderful read
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The Unwanted Wife. January 2021. I went thru a half box of tissues and cried during most of the audio. Evoked my emotions very strongly. Every time the chapter changed i expected to be listening to the husband's point of view. I also expected the husband to gift the wife a puppy or dog at some point.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Story: 4*
Narration: 2.5*
This was such an emotional romance for me. It is a marriage in trouble mixed with arranged marriage, where the hero is the one forced to marry the heroine who was in love with him from the beginning. It is written in 3rd person POV. It had a historical romance feel even if it contemporary (early 2010s).
There's a lot of grovelling here and it was well done and sweet and I had a blast.
The audio narration contributed to the historical romance feel and I didn't like the narrator's voice very much. It was quitr accented and I didn't clearly understand everything she was saying. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5J’aime tellement ce livre je l’ai lu au moins fois ces derniers mois.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I loved this book and I enjoyed the narration as well
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5The book progressed beautifully and you slowly slide into the couple relationship with much hope...was not sure if I would have warmed up to the Sandro personality after the first few chapters but was incredibly surprised to finally love this couple....
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5I cannot believe I’m giving this 2 stars. This is one of my favorite books to read but the narrator in the audiobook destroyed the audio version for me. I’m not sure what accent she was trying to do but it definitely wasn’t South African. I am South African and that is not a local accent. The dialogue and voices of characters was good but the accent used for the rest was really strange and it distracted terribly from the story. Really really really disappointed.

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5The story might be good but I can not listen to the narrator. The way the woman reads makes it impossible to concentrate on the story. Too bad...

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5The book itself is ok but the narrator makes this hard to enjoy

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5I could barely get through the book solely because of the narrator. I don’t know what accent she had on but it was a strange mix of british and australian and something else. It was a bizzare accent.
So the 1 star had nothing to do with the book itself. The book could be great but I just couldn’t bare listening to another minute of her.2 people found this helpful
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Horrible narration, cheesy story with a heroine who is idle, jealous, fishing for compliments and having tantrums all the time. This reads so much like an ‘80s Mills&Boone novel when heroines were almost weak-willed creatures who peeked at men from under lush lashes.

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5I could not finish listening. Between the awful narrator and the cheap rip off of a Michelle Reid story (which by the way was so much better) I just could no longer try to find any meaningful plot. Waste of time.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Alessandro believes that his wife Theresa knows that she was part of a deal made between him and her father. When he finds out that married for love, he all of a sudden decides that he should make an effort in getting to know her and work on their marriage. I didn't mind this book. There was a major amount of groveling on the part of Sandro. So much so that the book did drag some. I understood Theresa's reluctance to believe Alessandro's intentions were out of love due to his seemingly abrupt change of heart. I am enjoying reading Natasha Anders back titles and will continue to check more out.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I had just finished The Wingman by the same author and really enjoyed it so I got this one. I liked it too (and moving on in the series), but just not quite as much.Sandro has been forced into marrying Theresa by a deal with her father, but Theresa is in love and has no idea why her husband is so cold. All he seems to want is a son by her, then he will leave her. At the point the story starts, they have been married about eighteen months and Theresa has finally given up. She wants a divorce, but Sandro won't give her one. He thought all along that she knew about the devil's bargain her father made, but she has been in the dark. Once he discovers that she didn't know, he starts to change his attitude towards her, but she thinks it's too late.I would have liked a little more of Sandro's viewpoint. It wasn't always clear why he acted the way he did which made it very hard to sympathize with him. I felt for Theresa and I was glad that she finally stopped being a doormat. This is a very different romance and I'm glad I read it.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I really enjoyed this one. Yes, there were hurtful things for Sandro and Theresa to overcome but once everything was out in the open, their whole relationship really changed! It was pretty obvious after that how Sandro felt about Theresa but she refused to believe him and I don't blame her. The exact moment that I feel in love with him was during the scene at the hospital with the balloons! This was a welcomed change from some of the "darker" things I've been reading lately. LOL!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This was an amazing read for me. The H was a total jerk in the beginning, hated him. Then he spends the rest of the story groveling. It had me from the beginning and I didn't put it down until I was done, around 2:30 in the morning. This is definitely an author I'll be watching out for in the future.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5The Unwanted Wife was such a heart wrenching story. It sucked me in and I couldn't put it down, almost reading it in one sitting. I found it easy to relate to Theresa and felt every painful slight by Sandro, every time her hopes of a loving marriage were dashed. The steam factor was high and, in those moments, I forgot the true state of their marriage, believing that he was returning her love, but then feeling gutted when he would not.
My heart broke for Theresa, with her husband being such a cold-hearted jerk, but when the circumstances of their marriage are revealed and the part that they both played in it are finally uncovered, the tide turns. In the end, the author had me thawing towards Sandro, feeling for him and his situation, when I thought his actions at the beginning were not redeemable. I would have loved a few snippets in his point of view to really get in his head.
I thought the characters were well written and the emotion, tension and angst was well portrayed and I felt Theresa's pain throughout. I understood her mistrust in Sandro's intentions but enjoyed how the story worked through this issue and then the development of their ongoing relationship.
I really liked the epilogue, a well rounded ending to this story, which I could have happily kept reading. I loved it - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5At the time I read this book, I was getting frustrated with all the Indie books with highly rated reviews that turned out to be total crap. So, I was actually surprised that I found this book a decent read. Although it suffered from the usual poor editing and typos throughout, the premise of the story was at least interesting and emotional. I really appreciated the way the author handled the hero's poor treatment of his wife and his subsequent groveling and attempts at healing the pain he caused. The heroine did come across as emotionally immature at times, and the dialogue could have been better but, overall, I enjoyed reading this and the emotions the story evoked.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Romance novel - a little too cheesy for me.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Perfect book for a lazy afternoon when it is freezing outside and i didnt want to spend the whole day writing.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This book was good. I'll give credit for a debut, indie novel but it was very redundant. The woman in this book, Theresa was over-the-top stubborn. And I'm no author but some of the writing felt amateurish. This book is about a marriage between Sandro and Theresa that set up in order for Sandro's father to keep his vineyard. The only way the marriage contract could be voided was with the birth of a son but Sandro eventually ended up falling in love with Theresa. However, it was a day late and a dollar short so to speak because Theresa had been hurt so often by Sandro during their 18mos marriage that she was entirely too guarded to let him love her... and then she got pregnant but you'll have to read it to find out the rest.
