About this audiobook

Audrey Parker is up against the boards. She's stuck in a job she hates and pining for a total jerk. Meanwhile, her sister Fallon is moving out and getting married to hockey star Lucas Brooks. Where is Audrey's Prince Charming? Nothing she does has ever seemed to be good enough for any of the men in her life. Audrey's about to hit rock bottom . . . until she wakes up next to Tate Odder.

The thrill of moving up from the minors to the Nashville Assassins was a welcome distraction. But not even becoming the first rookie goalie to tally three shutouts in the Stanley Cup finals alleviates the pain. With the loss of his parents and sister weighing as heavily on his soul as ever, Tate Odder can't keep pretending he's okay. That's when he meets smart, sexy Audrey. Her gentle warmth and quirky sense of humor make him feel whole for the first time in too long. But to stay that way forever, Tate must find a way to accept his past and learn to live for love.

Toni Aleo

My name is Toni Aleo, and I’m a #PredHead, #sherrio, #potterhead, and part of the #familybusiness! I am also a wife to my amazing husband, mother of a wrestler and a gymnast, and also a fur momma to Gaston el Papillon. You can usually find me hollering for the whole Nashville Predators, since I’ll never give my heart to one player again. When I’m not in the gym getting swole, I’m usually writing, trying to make my dreams a reality, or being a taxi for my kids. I’m obsessed with Harry Potter, Supernatural, Disney, and anything that sparkles! I’m pretty sure I was Belle in a past life, and if I could be on any show it would be Supernatural, so I could hunt with Sam and Dean. Also, I did mention I love hockey, right?

Read this because the author is a fan of the Nashville Predators. I admit I have never been to a hockey game. Nashville is about an hour from me but I have never took the time.

After reading this I admit I will be looking to get tickets to at least one game.

Loved how the author used hockey, not something I have read before in a romance.

Will be reading additional books by this author.

Thanks for an interesting read Toni.

Empty Net by Toni Aleo has everything you could want in a romance novel, hot men with a dramatic storyline. Aleo’s Assassins series keeps getting better and better. This is the type of series that you just cannot stop reading until you have read all the books. In the third book of the series, we follow Audrey Parker’s life, book two’s leading lady, Fallon’s, sister. In Trying to Score, we learned that the man, Levi, she was with was abusive to her. In this book, we learn a lot more about Audrey, such as she can’t have children of her own from a botched abortion and that she has a dream of opening her own cupcakery. Unfortunately, she works for her family’s winery, which she absolutely hates but her dad would be so mad if she even thought about quitting. This is all until she meets her neighbor, Tate Odder. Tate is the new goalie for the Assassins and is drop dead sexy. Will Audrey ever be able to leave her abusive boyfriend? Can she take a hold of her own life and dreams? Could she even consider quitting her service rep job at the winery and open her own cupcakery? So far this is my absolutely favorite Assassin book. I have been devouring this whole series and cannot wait to start the next one. The great thing about this series is that you can read each book alone, even though I think it is better to read them in order, because you do learn about the other characters throughout the other books. I would give this book a 5 out of 5 and would recommend it to any romance reader.

I'm so glad that I continued to read Toni Aleo that I can't wait for the next books. I'm completely hooked on her 'Assassins'.We can see clearly an evolution not only in her writing but also on the way she developed her characters: the plot is more credible and it seems that she's trying to not repeat herself much, the heroes are more 'mature' and more 'normal' with day to day problems. And the sexy scenes are delicious and very very hot.I really can't wait for the next book and this book was so far my favorite. I'm glad that Audrey found what she was looking for.

    Empty Net by Toni Aleo

Ok first I have to say that this is probably one of the first reviews I was dying to write and post, but due to my blog tour I had to wait till today to post it. So Toni Aleo is now one of my favorite authors. This woman knows how to write a hot romance story. Her characters are strong women who are independent, work hard and one day hope to find love. And the bonus part of this series is that it revolves around hockey. And who in the world cannot read a book around hot sexy hockey players.

So I suggest anyone who is reading this review to go purchase all 3 books in this series because they are fantastic. Toni’s writing makes your heart thump and blood flow fast, and it brought tears to my eyes, I fell in love with this entire series and all her characters. When you finish one book you want another, I am praying the next book is already written and being edited lol..... I will continue to stalk Toni so I know when it is being released.

So let’s talk about Empty Net, we meet up with Audrey (who we meet in Trying To Score) who is Fallon’s sister. Audrey has been in a relationship with Levy who is a total jerk, and we want her to end things with him instantly. This is hard for her as Audrey loves Levy but she knows he is not any good and their relationship is very one sided.

Then of course we are introduced to Tate (hot goalie), new in town and he is also mending his own type of heartbreak. In a change meeting Audrey and Tate end up meeting in a bar and spend the night together. Audrey and Tate both know that they are each other one night stand and really never expect to see each other again. Audrey is still hoping to patch things up with Levi even though her one night stand was out of this world she tries to forget Tate. She is shocked when she finds out Tate is on the same hockey team her brother in law plays for and tell Tate he must keep their meeting a secret. I cannot say too much more as I don’t like to write spoilers but I will say GO PURCHASE Empty Net!

This story is amazingly written, the turmoil that Audrey faces and has to deal with because of her relationship with Levy and secrets she has kept to herself makes her feel so unworthy of love it breaks your heart, I shed many tears for Audrey. Toni’s writing makes you feel for her characters like they are your friends; I think an author who can make your heart hurt from reading a story means that she is one great author. This series is fantastic!!

Empty Net is an adult read, Toni’s writing is superb, and I would read and buy anything a Toni Aleo writes. Empty Net is full of passion, romance, and heart break.

I have rated Empty Net a 5 star rating as that is the highest I can give this novel, but if I could give a 10 star rating I would. So what else can I write to encourage you the readers to go buy this book, besides a promise you will not be disappointed.

Thank you Toni and I will be posting messages on your page for book 4 -Blue Lines!

4 STARSI really liked Empty Net book 3 of Assassins except for the love scenes and some language. It was fun to see all the characters from the first two books back again. Makes me want to go to a hockey game for the first time. This book brought out arrange of emotions from me. Like wanting to yell leave him to Audrey, cry with Tate. laugh with them. I admit to tears of joy, compassion at different points.Audrey still loves her boyfriend Levi who is still a creep. One of the times he breaks up with her is at her sisters party. She drinks too much and ends up in bed with a good looking guy. When she wakes up in the hotel room she hurries and dresses telling him it was a mistake.Tate tells her it doesn't have to be a one night stand. Audrey tells him it does. Neither one can remember the others name if they knew it. Audrey feels like she did it with teenager.Tate is still mooning over his runaway girl. Lucas tries to get him to come to his wedding dinner the night before the wedding.Audrey finds out her new neighbor that she has yet to meet at the wedding is Tate. She is glad to find out he is 21 but still turns him down.Tate knows what he wants and is willing to be just Audrey's friend tills she realizes he is a good guy. He is talented, nice and wants a relationship with her.I liked the plot, like the characters can understand why Audrey is so unhappy about some things and picks looser for boyfriend.I hope their is a Assassins book 4 in the future.I was given this ebook to read and asked to give honest review of it by Netgalley.04/23/2013 Random House Publishing Group - Loveswept 417 pages ISBN 9781300759201

I am such a fan of Toni Aleo's Assassins series. OMG, talk about hot. This is the kind of hot that just putting your face in the freezer or taking a cold shower does nothing to quench. This requires a bigger distraction, like several screaming kids. After giving us two super hot hockey players to lust after, Toni has given us yet another in Tate Odder. He is so hot and will bring out every woman's inner cougar. We were first introduced to both Tate and Audrey in Trying to Score. Tate is the young newbie from Sweden. Audrey Parker, is Fallon's sister. Trying to Score, the second book in the series, was Fallon and Lucas Brooks story. Empty Net is Tate and Audrey's story. Audrey Parker has had one dead end relationship after another with men who didn't love her or appreciate her. After being in a relationship with the deadbeat Levi for 8 months, she finds herself dumped yet again. Always a glutton for punishment, she still wants him back. Tate Odder is 21 years old and still trying to get over the tragic death of his mother, father, and sister. In a bar one night he lays eyes on Audrey Parker and he's done for. He's got to have her. Needless to say when she looks at him, the feeling is mutual. The chemistry between these two has sparks flying and the next thing Audrey knows she is waking up in bed in a hotel room next to Tate after one of the most amazing nights of her life. She immediately leaves, saying it's a mistake, and from that moment own Tate is like Prince Charming with the glass slipper desperately trying to find his Cinderella, more affectionately known as Tate's runaway lay. Several weeks later at Fallon and Lucas's wedding, he finally finds his Cinderella again, realizing she is the sister of his best friend's wife, and later finds she is his neighbor. Audrey is determined that she is not going to have a relationship with Tate, believing he's too young, it's not fair to him, she's damaged merchandise, yet the whole time wanting to "climb him like a tree," as Toni puts it. After trying her best to keep Tate in the "friend zone," she gives in to her desires and these two have one of the most sizzling relationships ever. They have a ton of drama in the process, opening up about secrets they have kept regarding their past, their fears, and they one obstacle after another that tries tests their love.I love Audrey, she has the best sense of humor and she and Tate just click and fit together like peanut butter and jelly. Ah Tate, such a hottie, yet just as damaged on the inside as Audrey. He loves her fiercely and despite everything, wants nothing more than to be with her. I really loved this story. It is filled with humor, romance, some intense drama, and some sizzling sexy scenes. I'll never look at hockey the same way after reading Toni's books. I experienced a gamut of emotions in this book, laughing, crying, holding my breath, fanning my face, and wanting to slap somebody. I can't wait to read the next book in the series, Blue Lines, because I know Toni will give us yet another yummy hockey player to swoon after. This hot adult contemporary romance, which has the added benefit of some hunky hockey players, is one book you won't want to miss.

Of the 3 books Toni Aleo has written in this series so far, Empty Net is by far my favorite . I 100% think that she has mastered her craft with this book. I am in no way saying that Taking Shots & Trying to Score sucked; because they did NOT – I am just simply saying that this book rocked my freaking face off. I have never been more into the characters of a book until I read Empty Net. Toni has created such a realistic world; that involves famous people who have real life problems – which to me; makes them even more relateable . You can’t help but fall in love with them and their stories.I fell in love with Audrey when I met her in Trying to Score. Being the youngest of 3, I can understand and relate to what she feels when it comes to her sister, Fallon. I simply love the relationship between the sisters. It’s refreshing to read such love between family members. I also love Audrey for her struggles and her survival of them. Having been through the exact thing she goes through in this book; I felt for her in a way I haven’t felt for a heroine in a long time. I felt every tear, laugh, success, failure and triumph that she went through. It was… amazing. Then you have Tate Odder. So beautifully written and so perfectly swoon worthy. Toni hit this one spot on. I don’t think a better person could have been written in his place. Tate is everything you would want in a male lead. Sweet, strong, compassionate, sexy, a freaking hockey player, genuine and committed. Having been dealt a not so good hand in some aspects of his life – he finds a home with the Nashville Assassins. His character is very profound and sometimes complex – but I think that makes him all the more appealing. A perfect match for Audrey if you ask me. I think he is exactly what she needs at this point in her life.As always, Toni’s side characters have just as much impact on her stories as the main characters. I simply love the fact that previous characters have a place in Empty Net. I don’t think it would have been the same without them. These characters and this series have become so special to me, that I am so very IMPATIENTLY waiting for Blue Lines to come out. Its like a part of me is on hold – kind of stuck wondering where this story and these characters are going to go. STOP THE SUSPENSE MAN!Sports fan or no sports fan – I think this book no; this series should be read by anyone who is a down right TRUE romantic (: You will not be disappointed.
