About this audiobook

From the # 1 New York Times bestselling author of Breaking Nova comes a gripping story about what it takes to save the one you love . . .

Nova Reed can't forget him-Quinton Carter, the boy with the honey-brown eyes who made her realize she deserved more than an empty life. His pain was so similar to her own. But Nova has been coming to terms with her past and healing, while Quinton is out there somewhere, sinking deeper. She's determined to find him and help him . . . before it's too late.

Nova has haunted his dreams for nearly a year-but Quinton never thought a sweet, kind person like her would care enough about a person like him. To Quinton, a dark, dangerous life is exactly what he deserves. And Nova has no place in it. But Nova has followed him to Las Vegas, and now he must do whatever it takes to keep her away, to maintain his self-imposed punishment for the unforgivable things he's done. But there's one flaw in his plan: Nova isn't going anywhere . . .

This is a very intense read! You really get to see the impact drugs can play on your life. The author does not hold back, and I loved it. Addiction is such a scary thing, and this is a raw look into someone being highly addicted to several different drugs. It is really scary, but very real. It was so good and intense.

I received this ARC on behalf of an honest review

I do love Jessica's book and I was so pleased to be able to read a copy of this ARC.

This story continues on from Breaking Nova, after Nova manages to pull herself together and start getting on with her life. The book starts with the prospective of Quinton and where he is now and how he has fallen even lower in a downward spiral.

We see that Nova makes it her mission to save Quinton as she feels that she didn't have the chance to save her boyfriend Landon who killed himself in book 1.

This book is not your typical romance, it is dark, heatbreaking and thought provoking.

There were many times in this book where it can reduce you to tears.

I highly recommend reading this next installment of the series of Nova.

Jessica Sorensen out did herself again & I can wait for the next book to be released, I hope that I would be luck enough to receive the Arc to book 3.

Although you can read this as a standalone, you really need to read book one in order to get a good history/handle on this book. (Both are darker than most new adult reads.)Nova hasn't seen Quinton in over a year. She is finally getting herself back on track with school, family and friends but she can't forget Quinton. The boy who made her feel again. And he is as out of control as he ever was. Drugs, sex, just a downward spiral with no regard to himself. Purposely, slowly killing himself. And Nova is determined to save him. This book put me on edge. And the dreaded un-neat ending (cliffhanger warning!) but a glimmer of hope. This is not your typical romance but a great read! Hoping for a HEA in book 3!I received this book in exchange for an honest book review.

I wanted to read Saving Quinton because I enjoyed the first book Breaking Nova, and I wanted to see where time and perspective would leave Nova, and if she could indeed as the title suggests, save Quinton. It is pretty dark and gritty where Quinton is, worse than he was at the end. Getting both POV we really get in his head and see how dark it is, what leads him to continue taking drugs to get in that state of forgetfulness, where his demons don't torment him and he no longer sees Lexi's blood on his hands. Nova really wants to help him, to see him through his rough past and come out the other side of addiction. I really appreciated where she was and the look she has even after Landon and her dad, that she can be in a place of healing. She had the best of intentions, and wanted to get their relationship to an even better place it was the summer before. This book ends with hope, but it really does drag Quinton through the mud to get to his darkest place before he can ever even think of leaving this lifestyle of drugs to forget lifestyle. He thinks that is all that he deserves. It is downright hard to read, and my heart hurts for him seeing how he lives, what lengths he goes to try to protect Tristan as well as try to forget. Nova is so strong, but she also knows that she is tempted at times, but she keeps her resolve. That doesn't mean that she isn't hurting for Quinton or at times thinking that it is hopeless or feeling defeated. She also gets to a rather dark place, but luckily she's realized that she can ask for and accept help and lets her mom and friend Lea be there for her. She's grown a lot, but I would have liked to see some of that. Her working for the hotline, some of her revelations, but I suppose that would have had to be its own book. I think that Saving Quinton was realistic though. There wasn't a wave a magic wand fix. Family relationships are complicated, drugs will mess you up, and pain and trauma do not go away on their own. Ultimately I liked the first book better because there was more romance, but I think that this book shows more determination and love because the lengths that Nova went through to get through to and show Quinton she wanted to be there for him. There were some hot moments, funny, deep, fun, and great conversation along the way, but there were also hurtful words and actions thrown in, but again, while hard to read I think it made it even more realistic. This story did kind of leave me saying, wow that wasn't an ending. But looking back, in a lot of ways, it was good for the story, although there is lots of room for wanting the next book in your hands right as you finish. Bottom Line: Dark but realistic story laced with hope, but seeing that you have to get to the bottom to want to climb to the top.

Review courtesy of Dark Faerie TalesQuick & Dirty: Heart wrenching story about dealing with loss and the guilt that comes with it. This was a difficult read but a good one.Opening Sentence: I wake up every morning feeling content that I’m drowning in darkness. The Review:Nova Reed has spent the last year recovering and becoming herself again after her tragic past. She finally feels like she is in a good place, but she can’t seem to forget the boy she left behind. Quinton made her feel things that she didn’t think was possible after Landon, but he has a dark past as well. One that he hasn’t been able to get over.Quinton’s life has slowly gone from bad to worse. His next fix is the only thing he cares about. It makes him feel nothing and takes away all the pain. He knows that he doesn’t deserve happiness and that Nova is way too good for him. But in the last year she has crossed his mind more then he wants to admit. Then she shows up on his doorstep wanting to talk to him. He knows she should stay away since his life is dangerous, but no matter what he does she always seems to keep coming back. His guard is slowly crumbling and he is tempted to finally let go of the past. But that’s the funny thing about demons you have to face them or they will never go away and Quinton doesn’t know if he is strong enough to face his.Nova has become a much more stable person in the last year. She was really able to deal with her heartbreaking past and even though she doesn’t understand why it all happened she has come to terms with it. I really respect the person she has become and the fact that she wants to help others is very admiring. She is a strong and loving person that finally sees the good in life. She was a lot easier for me to connect with in this book then the first and I can’t wait to finish her story.Quinton is very messed up. In Breaking Nova he had started going downhill, but now he has pretty much hit rock bottom. It was heartbreaking to watch him spiral so out of control and to see what he was going through. He was so ridden with guilt that his only escape is drugs. He has gotten to the point in his life where he doesn’t really have anything worth living for, but he is to chicken to do anything about it. I really felt for Quinton and I hope that he will be able to find peace eventually.Saving Quinton is one of those books that are really hard to recommend to someone. It is so heart wrenching, yet so realistic that it’s hard not to respect the author taking on something so difficult. This story covers such hard tender issues in a very honest and heartfelt way. While I honestly can’t say I had an enjoyable time reading this book, I can say that it was an eye opening experience that I won’t soon forget. Obviously it was a sad read, but Sorensen does a wonderful job implementing hope into the story. Nova is never willing to give up on Quinton even though she knows there is a slim chance he will ever come back from the dark place he is in. This story pulls at so many emotions and is written so well that even though it was a difficult read it was a good read. I am really glad that there is going to be another book because the ending of this was left really open and I hope that we will get more resolution in the final book. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a gut wrenching yet very realistic book full of hope and second chances.Notable Scene:My muscles ravel into even more knots as he opens the door, then my breath hitches in my throat at what’s on the other side of it. A room about the size of a closet with clothes and coins all over the linoleum floor, along with a mirror, razor, and small plastic bag. And just beside the doorway, there’s a lumpy mattress on the floor, and Quinton’s lying on it.Quinton.His arm hangs lifelessly over the side of the mat tress and his eyes are shut, his body motionless, and the leaky ceiling is dripping filthy water on him. And his face…the bruises…the swelling…the cuts…if I couldn’t see his scarred chest rising and falling, I’d think he was dead.“Oh my God.” I cover my mouth with my hand, tears stinging at my eyes, my gut twisting in knots. He looks dead. Just like Landon. Only there’s no rope, just bruises and cuts and a room full of the darkness that’s consumed his life.FTC Advisory: Grand Central Publishing/Hachette Book Group provided me with a copy of Saving Quinton.
