Reviews for Running From the Law

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5It as a decent murder mystery for a short story.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Rita Morrone is defending Fiske Hamilton, a federal judge, when a sexual harassment suit. Fiske is the father of her boyfriend, Paul. Soon the suit turns into a murder investigation. Rita has to determine if her client is guilty or not, and if not, who is the murderer?
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Smart and sharp, I enjoyed this lawyer solves a mystery novel. I guessed the murderer correctly but did not mind finishing the book. You have to pay attention to the quote marks in the text because the narrator does not say all that she thinks. It's a cute trick but it does tend to wear.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book starts with her playing cards and I really got into it quickly. The type is slightly larger and it made me fly through this book. It was a great story and since this is the first time I have read Lisa Scottoline (though I probably have 10 of her books sitting on my shelves) I am really glad that I started reading this book because now I know there is a good chance if I read another one, I will like it as well. Now I am sending it to my Mom in Michigan to love!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Against her better judgment, Rita Morrone, a smart-mouthed, poker playing, sassy young lawyer takes on the task of defending her lover's father - a respected judge - from sexual harrassment charges leveled by his secretary. Little does she know that Paul, her lover, is involved in the case, the secretary will end up dead, and her and her father's life will hang in the balance. Rita continues to investigate and with the help of her poker playing cronies, discovers that the judge may well have been framed. I really enjoyed this book and give it an A!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5First, I have to say that I love how Lisa Scottoline writes about heroines in her books… and allows them to say the F word!I am addicted to her books right now, but I enjoyed this more than the rest that I have read.
