      Her weakest yet Elena the werewolf is pregnant. She is manouvered into stealing a letter written ny Jack the Ripper and acidentally opens a portal in Toronto that zombies and other unsavouries can come through. Where did the bad guy learn to drive I want to know?

      Elena and Clay have decided to embark on the greatest adventure of their lives....having a baby. Elena knew Clay and her pack leader, Jeremy, would be over-protective and in truth, she really doesn't mind so much. Especially considering her own concerns about everything from the change required by her werewolf nature to the fact that her pregnancy seems to be progressing at a faster than normal rate. When she is approached by a former demon associate with a foolproof, non-dangerous plan for stealing the "From Hell" letter purportedly written by Jack-the-Ripper, it is exactly the distraction she had wanted. However, like all things too good to be true, so is a non-eventful theft and when the letter turns out to be a zombie carrying portal into Toronto Elena, Clay and Jeremy wind up with more danger than they expected.I really liked the idea of catching up with Elena's pack and as I had hoped, not having read the intervening books after "Stolen" did not turn out to be a problem in picking up the story. I enjoyed the interplay between the three main characters and how the story worked around Elena's pregnancy. The only problem is that I'm not really into mysteries so much as action so parts of the book kind of dragged for me. I think it could have been cut back a little in the "chasing zombies in circles" department. The other disappointment was that I knew who the criminal was almost immediately and it was kind of frustrating waiting around for the characters to catch on. Other than that I really enjoyed the story.I'm not entirely sure I will read the other books in this series, although I will admit to an interest in seeing where Jeremy and Jamie's relationship goes. If I happen upon that book (whatever it may be) I might be tempted to pick it up.

      Elena, Clay and the pack are back, and this time they’ve accidentally unleashed zombies, cholera, and, possibly, Jack the Ripper, on Toronto. To complicate things, Elena’s pregnant, and seems to be the zombie’s target. This one wasn’t nearly as good as any of the others, though I still enjoyed it. It was just a bit of a letdown, especially since I easily figured out what was going on long before Elena and the others did, and found that frustrating.

      Eleana Michael is the only female vampire in the world. It was never believed that her and Clayton could ever have children, which in turn, was a hugh problem with Eleana accepting what Clayton had done to her. She finds that she will be expecting just as it appears that a copycat Jack the Ripper, or maybe even Jack the Ripper hisself is on a rampage that must be stopped. Can Clayton, Jeremy, and Eleana solve the mystery to save innocents before it is too late.

      When Elena Michaels is asked to pay back a favor, little does she know that she is about to unleash one of the most vile murderers of all time onto an unsuspecting world. Tasked with stealing Jack the Ripper's "From Hell" letter, Elena accidentally triggers a dimensional portal that enables zombies, plagues and even the notorious killer to appear in modern day Toronto.

      Fast paced and action packed with strong world building and solid character development. Unfortunately, the Ripper lore is not utilized to its fullest potential.

      Broken highlights once again Armstrong's skillful construction of a world replete with numerous supernatural beings existing in secret alongside humanity. Werewolves, demons, vampires, zombies, witches and sorcerers are all woven seamlessly into the storyline.

      In terms of the romance, Elena and Clay's relationship has improved drastically. In contrast to the childish, squabbling pair in the first two books of the series, they have finally become a cohesive unit. Elena has definitely matured (perhaps her pregnancy has had a positive effect on her) and is a great deal less whinny. Similarly, Clay has realized that he cannot keep Elena wrapped in cotton-wool and supports her choices rather than constantly arguing with her.

      While Jack the Ripper is a favorite theme of mine, it is not put to good use within the narrative as the zombies take center stage, and the explanation given for the Ripper's original killing spree is uninspired and obscure. Moreover, the identity of the primary villain is painfully obvious and one wonders how Elena and her allies managed to miss all of the clues.

      All in all, an entertaining addition to the series and the hints that Jeremy is finally beginning to see Jaime as something other than a ditzy necromancer are intriguing. Their book is next and not a moment too soon. Hopefully it will live up to expectations.

      I love the characters in this series of books - but I would have to say that I enjoyed this one the least out of the series. I found the plot just too tenuous and convoluted.I think the characters were just as engaging as ever and I really enjoyed seeing Elena and Clay move on as a family BUT I think the plot didn't do them justice.I hope the next one is a return to form.

      This is my least favorite book in the women of the otherworld series. I love it since the story is once again about Elena and Clay. But i hate it because they are both in danger. I have become so inlove with them that I would weep like a baby for days if they were killed. Kelley Armstrong have made them so real that I'm trying to tell them what to do when I'm reading this book (if u know that you may do the same things I reccomend reading the book when you are alone, my sister nearly jumped out of her skin when I shouted "look out" in the middle of the book). This book is both funny and scary, sometimes at the same time. I said "I know who the bad guy is" about ten times and was very suprised when I found out who it was. I have re-read this book a couple of times and it's as scary and amusing as the first time i read it.

She does all of this effortlessly and you have no choice but to plummet without stumbling straight into her world. She has created such a strong presence in all of her characters that everything about them makes them seem real! You get so caught up in their stories that you feel you are a part of them. I cannot say enough good things about Kelley!

      This series has really fallen for me. However when I saw that this book focused on the wolves again, I did go and get it. I did enjoy it and would recommend it. It was entertaining and creative.

      I really like the Elena arc of the story. This one was fast paced and interesting. The only bad thing I noticed was I could pick out the 'bad guy' right away. I liked the overall progression of the storyline. Overall, it's a really good installment to the series.

      The Pack is back. And Elena is pregnant. Heavily.When an old jail mate calls her up asking for help, help with Jack the Ripper's infamous 'From Hell' letter, Elena is quick to jump. But they soon find that it wasn't as easy as it sounded and as the big day draws near, they are having trouble getting rid of a couple of 18 centurary zombies...Even although i'm a loyal Kelley fan and have read all the series and loved them, i must say that this wasn't quite as great as the others, or at least the other pack books. I loved seeing all the old characters again, and it was a very interesting plot, but it did seem a little repetitive. I'm sorry, but if i was completely honest, that's what i have to say. Still though, another great Kelley Armstrong book, still better than a lot of werewolf books out there, just not quite her usual standard.

      This is the 6th book in the Otherworld series. Armstrong does not fail to satisfy. Elena's pregnant, which is huge for the only female werewolf. Add male werewolves who are bound and determined she's not going to do anything the whole time and Jack the Ripper, a zombie and a deadly disease and you've got a hilariously suspensful ride. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who's read the Women of the Otherworld series.

      This is my favorite of the 'Women of the Otherworld' series. Elena is pregnant and she still fights. I was going crazy to find out what was going to happen in the end. And, I wasn't disappointed. Still great.

      I was so happy to see Elena be the main character in this one! I just love her, and I love reading her story! I think Elena's family, as in Clay, and Jeremy, and even Nick and Antonio are great! This book was really intersting in the Elena aspect alone, and the Jack the Ripper thing added a cool twist! I hope there are more books following Elena in the future!

      In Kelley Armstrong's 5th installment in the Women of the Otherworld series, we are re-united with Elena Michaels, the only living female werewolf in the world, and the werewolf pack of Stonehaven. In order to find a dangerous non-pack wolf, Elena makes a deal with a half-demon named Xavier to acquire an ancient stolen letter. In the rush to get their hands on the letter, Elena and her pack accidentally open an unknown time portal to 19th century England, unleashing zombies, disease and destruction into modern times. The pack must scramble to right this wrong before all hell breaks loose - literally.I love Elena Michaels! She is the narrator in the first two books in the series, Bitten and Stolen, and she has always been my favorite "Woman of the Otherworld." I am sad that this seems to be the last book from her perspective, but without giving too much of the plot away, I can say that it makes sense to me that her main story ends here in Broken. I want to know more about what happens to her, and I'm sure she will play a part in future books, but things wrap up pretty nicely for her in Broken.Broken is not my favorite of the series, but it is still a very good book. The story is totally original and continuing character development, delicious. I love the way Armstrong sets us up for the next book with a little more back story on Jamie Vegas. The character dialogue is fantastically witty and at times, downright hilarious - in a good way! Broken is a compelling and fun read that adds new depth to the series.

      Book 6 in Armstrong's Women of the Otherworld series. Elena the only female werewolf returns as the narrator, as she was in Books1 and 2. She is pregnant and nervous about it, as she is the only female werewolf in living memory and so unsure how her pregnancy will develop. She and the rest of the Pack are offered an interesting job of larceny, stealing a letter supposedly written by Jack the Ripper, which was stolen back in the 20s. Elena is happy to have something to distract her. She, Clay, and Jeremy succeed in stealing the letter, only to accidentally activate a dimensional portal from which two zombies and a sorcerer erupt.Armstrong's series continues to be a strong one. She sustains the series well, bringing in new characters, building up the old ones, and providing good plots. Recommended.

      I found that the detecting/chase-the-bad-guy part of the book went on (and on and on). They spent several days doing the same "sniff out and follow the bad guy" but I'm not sure why since nothing new was uncovered/discovered during 1/3 of these "chase" scenes.That and by the end of the book I was sick of hearing about how nervous Elena was about her pregnancy. I read these books for action and suspense and some werewolf butt-kicking, not to hear someone wimp along because she's pregnant.But, other than the draggy part near the middle (for the next 1/4 of the book) it was not a bad story, just a bit slow. Oh, and perhaps the werewolves were the only ones "surprised" at the twist... the reader certainly shouldn't have been.

      Broken is the sixth book in Kelley Armstrong's Women of the OtherWorld Series. This book takes us back to Elena and her pack a few years later. She is pregnant and happy but restless. When the opportunity comes along to do some "work" for an old "friend" she takes it. Little did she or Clay or the other werewolves know that this job could open a portal and accidently unleash Jack the Ripper on the city of Toronto. Of course, things aren't always what they seem in these kind of books.Another creepy, action-packed book in a wonderful series. You get werewolves, vampires, Jack the Ripper and zombies! It was a perfect book to read for the R.I.P III Challange. Not my favorite of the six books, but still a lot of fun to read.

      I greatly enjoy Armstrong's Women of the Otherworld series, and this is a strong installment. One thing that is different about this series is that though it's in the same world and often linked, different books are told from different perspectives. The first two books, Bitten and Stolen, were written from Elena's perspective. To be honest, Paige of the third and fourth books is my favorite, so I was initially disappointed to find we had returned to Elena. But I still greatly enjoyed this novel, among the more suspenseful in the series as a pregnant Elena and her mate Clay deal with what might be Jack the Ripper unleashed on Toronto.

      This is a big improvement over Haunted but doesn't quite recapture the magic of Broken and Stolen. Elena Michaels, the only female werewolf, faces her biggest challenge when she becomes pregnant. The novel picks up when she is about three months along, restless, antsy and fed up with the fussing of the men of her pack including her lover Clay; Elena agrees to take a job as a favour for teleporting demon Xaviere (from Stolen) to steal a letter from a private collector's home. Unfortunately the letter comes from the Jack the Ripper collection, specifically the infamous From Hell letter. Elena accidentally activates the letter opening a portal to a hell dimension and letting loose amongst other things; Victorian zombies, a cholera outbreak and possibly the Ripper himself from an interdimensional prison. This is a pacy and well written installment that only flounders on a couple of plot points whilst continuing the characters' arcs.

      Elena is pregnant and having to deal with the men in her life fussing around her when she accidentally gets her blood on the "from hell" letter, which opens a portal for some zombies, and a man. Murders in the style of Jack the Ripper start up and Elena has to try to solve this and keep the babies alive. Interesting and quite fast paced this is quite a good read and I liked how Elena is developing.
