About this audiobook
This compilation includes three Jack Reacher novellas and the ultimate fan guide Jack Reacher's Rules.
Deep Down:
In thriller master Lee Child's short story Deep Down, Jack Reacher must track down a spy in soldier's clothing-by matching wits with four formidable females. Three are clean-but the fourth may prove fatal.
Summoned by Military Intelligence to Washington, D.C., Reacher is sent undercover. The assignment that awaits him: The army is meeting with its Capitol Hill paymasters for classified talks on a new, state-of-the-art sniper rifle for U.S. forces. But vital details about the weapon are leaking-straight from the Capitol and probably into the hands of unidentified foreign arms dealers. The prospect of any and every terrorist, mercenary, or dictator's militia getting their hands on the latest superior firepower is unthinkable. That's where Reacher comes in. His task: infiltrate the top-secret proceedings and smoke out the mole. His target: a quartet of high-powered Army political liaison officers-all of them fast-track women on their way to the top.
According to his bosses, it's a zero-danger mission. No need to draw a gun . . . just chat over drinks. But Reacher knows that things are rarely what they seem. And he's learned the hard way never to underestimate an opponent. Or four. Lessons that will come in handy when he starts digging for the truth-and gets his hands a lot dirtier than he expected.
Second Son:
A young Jack Reacher knows how to finish a fight so it stays finished. He knows how to get the job done so it stays done. And, in one of his earliest challenges, he knows that his analytical brain is just as important as his impressive brawn.
Okinawa, 1974. Even at thirteen, Jack Reacher knows how to outwit and overpower anyone who stands in his way. And as the new kid in town, that's pretty much everyone. His family has come to the Pacific with his father, who's preparing for a top-secret Marine Corps operation. After receiving a rude welcome from the local military brats, Reacher and his older brother, Joe, intend to teach them a lesson they won't forget. But it's soon clear that there's more at stake than pride. When his family's future appears to come crumbling down, it's the youngest Reacher who rises to the occasion with all the decisive cunning and bravura that will one day be his deadly trademark.
High Heat:
In the midst of a savage heat wave and an infamous murder spree, a blackout awakens the dark side of the city that never sleeps-and a young Jack Reacher takes action as only he can.
July 1977. Jack Reacher is almost seventeen, and he stops in New York City on the way to visit his brother at West Point. The summer heat is suffocating, the city is bankrupt, and the mad gunman known as Son of Sam is still on the loose. Reacher meets a woman with a problem, and agrees to help her . . . but then the power grid fails and the lights go out, plunging the lawless city into chaos. What does a visiting teenager do in the dark? If that visiting teenager is Jack Reacher, the answer is plenty.
Jack Reacher's Rules:
Jack Reacher's Rules is the ultimate fan's guide to the World of Reacher! Featuring selections from all seventeen electrifying Jack Reacher novels and an introduction from Lee Child himself, this one-of-a-kind audiobook compiles timeless advice from maverick former army cop Jack Reacher, the hero of Lee Child's blockbuster thrillers and now the star of a major motion picture.
My name is Jack Reacher.
No middle name, no address.
I've got a rule: People mess with me at their own risk.
You don't have to break the rules if you make the rules. Case in point: Jack Reacher, the two-fisted, quick-witted, "current poster-boy of American crime fiction” (Los Angeles Times). The brainchild of #1 New York Times bestselling author Lee Child, Reacher is a freelan

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I'm not quiet sure if this book was supposed to be informative or funny or both. Anyone that reads the series will recognize that Jack has done every single one of these rules in one book or another. Anyone that has not read the books are going to go "What is this?" But one thing is for sure, Jack Reacher fans will love it.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Jack Reacher doesn’t break the rules . . . he makes them. And here, in this multi-sectioned volume, are some of those accumulated bits of wisdom and rules that govern his actions. [Rule 1. When in doubt, drink coffee.]This compilation of Reacher-wisdom, advice, and facts gleaned from his various adventures will delight Reacher fans everywhere. Readers will appreciate the “Things You’ll Never Hear Reacher Say” entries that end some sections. Anyone who’s read the stories is in for a real treat. Recommended for all Jack Reacher fans.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Jack Reacher's Rules is not a story of any sort. It's essentially a set of PowerPoint presentation slides about the nearly 2-dimensional character that is Jack Reacher. This could have been developed to give to prospective actors before they played Reacher in a film. If you've read more than one of the Reacher novels, everything in this will be obvious and even a bit cliche. Fortunately it takes only a few minutes to flip through.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Fun AND practical, yet also easy to read. No prior knowledge of the Jack Reacher Series by Lee CHild is required.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Reacher Creatures - Rejoice! It's here at last. All the wisdom from Jack Reacher in one handy reference guide - Jack Reacher's Rules. And some of you many be wondering - who the heck is Jack Reacher? Well, Reacher is the creation of author New York Times best selling author Lee Child - and one of my favourite series. (Me and a whole lot of other readers!)"Jack Reacher, of no fixed address, is a former major in the U.S. Military Police. Since leaving he army, the authorities have not been able to locate his whereabouts, although his name mysteriously crops up from time to time in connection with investigations into murders, terrorist threats, and other breaches of the law."Jack's credo to live by ---- "I'm a man with a rule. People leave me alone, I leave them alone. If they don't, I don't."Child has culled from the seventeen books featuring Reacher to paint a picture of this iconic character. You'll find the basics....."Never say no to a cup of coffee"...."After up to nine days, put clothes in trash and buy a new set"...."Carry a spare shirt and pretty soon, you're carrying spare pants. Then you need a suitcase. Next thing you know, you've got a house and a car and a savings plan and you're filling out all kinds of forms."To the more, shall we say, specialized skills...."To set your own broken nose, smack yourself firmly in the face with the heel of your hand"...Sometimes an entire city block can be taken out with one cigarette and a book of matches...If you're swinging a weapon, get near and get near early"... and many more. There's nothing new here, but this book will appeal to established fans, who will recognize many quotes and anecdotes from the series. Although, for those new to Lee Child's books, Jack Reacher's Rules may whet your appetite for reading the actual novels. "I don't want to put the world to rights. I just don't like people who put the world to wrongs" "I try to do the right things. I think the reasons don't really matter. I like to see the right thing done." And we like to follow Jack on his quest to do the right thing! Reacher Creatures everywhere will be watching for the movie coming out on Dec. 21 starring Tom Cruise as Reacher. The jury's still out on that casting, but we'll see.....

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5As a fan of Lee Child and Jack Reacher, I borrowed this short guide to all things “Reacher.” I quite enjoyed all the quips and tricks that have allowed Reacher to be a successful investigator and all-around unlikely hero. The “Rules” allow readers to glimpse further into the complicated, yet simple, character that is Jack Reacher.
