About this audiobook

He’s someone she can’t trust.…

She’s someone he thinks he knows.…

Violet Wilson is a wallflower. Shy, serious and accident prone, she’s got a bad habit of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. The night she’s forced to pose as her friend might just be the worst time of all—that’s when she meets Jet Blevins. She knows better than to get involved with someone like him, but he touches her in ways she never expected, never wanted before.

On the outside, Jet is a typical rocker, an arrogant lead guitarist who unapologetically lives a wild lifestyle. But on the inside, he’s battling demons and using the stage to escape the troubles of his past and the addictions of his present. Until the night he sees Violet standing at the back of the room. She brings his life into focus. She knows his secrets. She’s the girl he can’t forget.

But can they ever hope to have a future when their very foundation is nothing but lies?

Review courtesy of Dark Faerie TalesQuick & Dirty: Sexy new adult contemporary that was slightly forgettable but still a good read.Opening Sentence: One by one, I watch the people in the rows in front of me stand up and introduce themselves. The Review:Violet Wilson has spent her whole life helping others and now that she is older it is her. She works as a social worker and surrounds herself with people that need fixing. Her father is a raging alcoholic ever since her mother left and because Violet loves him she takes care of him. Then there’s her best friend who has a problem with cheating. To try and help, Violet offers to attend a sex addict meeting with her friend. That’s where she meets Jet Blevins. He is undeniably gorgeous and sexy, but he is one person that Violet knows she needs to stay away from. Not only is she lying about being a sex addict, but she really has very little experience when it comes to guys. But when Jet asks her for help she just can’t say no. He makes her feel things she has never felt before and she doesn’t know if she can resist him forever.Jet knows that he’s good looking and women tend to flock to him like birds. So when he meets Violet and she doesn’t encourage his advances he can’t help but be intrigued. At the moment he is the lead guitarist of a band, but his true passion is song writing. He has never been ashamed of his wild lifestyle or the fact that he hides all of his fears from everyone, until he starts to fall for Violet. He knows that he isn’t good enough for her and if she ever knew all his secrets she would hate him. They both think they know each other, but how can you ever really get to know someone if your whole relationship is built on lies?Violet is a sweet girl that thought she was happy. She has made sure that she will never make the same mistakes as all the people in her life have. Because of that she has never really opened herself up to much of anything or anyone. So when Jet ignites feeling inside of her that she has never felt before she is sacred. I thought that Violet was a really easy character to like and connecting with her felt very natural. She grew so much as a character throughout the story, which made her feel more realistic.Jet is your typical sexy bad boy that is broken inside. It’s not that I didn’t like Jet because I did, he was a great love interest, but I felt he was very similar to lots of other boys I have met. Because of that I felt he was somewhat forgettable. There wasn’t anything unique about him that really stood out to me, but I still thought he was a pretty dreamy guy. He is very cute with Violet and I really enjoyed watching them get to know each other. There is tons of great sexual tension and drama in their relationship. Even though Jet is not the most memorable guy he still was fun to meet. This was a good romantic story full of steamy moments and fun characters, but not much else. There wasn’t a whole lot of substance to the story and it doesn’t really go beyond the love aspect of the plot. For me, I like it when there is a secondary plot that helps to keep the book more interesting and this didn’t have that. I’m not saying I didn’t enjoy this book because it was still a great read; it’s just one of those thoughtless books that is very forgettable. I actually finished this a few days ago and I am having a hard time remembering exactly what happened. I am actually a big fan of Leighton’s work, I love her writing, but this one just wasn’t the best I have read from her. If you are looking for an easy read full of passion, drama, and likeable characters, I would suggest you give this one a try.Notable Scene:Tall and striking, he oozes the very sex appeal that makes him fit right in this type of group. I doubt for a second that he’s even real, that he’s even human. That he’s anything more than a figment of my imagination. Everything about him is an invitation— his eyes, his smile, his posture. From his spiky black hair and dazzling blue eyes to his perfect lips and politely casual smile, he appeals to me like no one has ever appealed to me before. But he reeks of danger and hedonism, two things I avoid like the plague. Two things I’ve never wanted not to avoid.Until now.As we stare at each other, I wonder if he’s going to speak to me. And, if so, what he might say. I mean, we are at an SAA meeting. I’m sure picking up the other attendees is at the very least frowned upon. Before I can get too carried away pondering it, though, he smiles courteously and steps aside, stretching out his arm to push open the door for me.FTC Advisory: Berkley/Penguin provided me with a copy of There’s Wild, Then There’s You.
