About this audiobook

The sisters of Sea Haven, bound by the heart and the magical power of the elements, return in this soul-stirring new novel from Christine Feehan,  #1 New York Times bestselling author of Spirit Bound...

Air Bound

For as far back as she can remember, Airiana Ridell has always been aware of her extraordinary gift. She can intuit revealing and illuminating "patterns" in the air around her-whether in a spray of mist, in billowing clouds, or in the dense swirls of an impenetrable fog. Her abilities led to her placement in a secret government training facility when she was a child, but everything changed after her mother was murdered.

Airiana fled the program, but she couldn't outrun the desperate members of a shadowy cabal who want her, who need her, who will kill to get her. Kidnapped and held aboard a ship bound for dangerous seas, her only chance for rescue is Maxim Prakenskii. He has his reasons for helping her, but he isn't about to reveal them to Airiana. Not yet. Not as the two are drawn together as moth to flame. Not when there are so many secrets yet untold that could shatter the quaint community of Sea Haven and all who reside there…

Airiana has had special gifts, and her gifts are seeing patterns in the air, whether it be clouds or fog, she can manipulate air to suit her needs. When she was fourteen years old, her gifts put her in a government program, one that resulted in the death of her mother. So Airiana flees and runs and finds herself living on a farm with five other women who have suffered as she has, who also have special gifts, and have created a unique sisterhood. One evening a fog rolls in, and she ends up captured and held aboard a ship by Maxim Prakenskii. Maxim Prakenskii, one of the brothers, has his own gifts and they also deal with air patterns just like Airiana. Maxim had been separated from his brothers as a boy, and trained to be a Russian assassin. Maxim is on a mission, to protect Airiana until he can deliver her safely to her father. But soon both Maxim and Airiana are on the run for their lives, danger at every corner, and only together will they be able to survive and have a future...together.Air Bound is the third book in the sisters of the heart series. I want to say that this series has a warm place in my heart. Every book I have read from this series I have fallen in love with and Air Bound is no different. I have to say that when I had read Jolie's story with Ilya Prakenskii, I was really intrigued with these brothers. And now we get to see all of them get their happy endings. Maxim Prakenskii, is one tough man that you don't want to cross, and he has a protective streak a mile wide especially when it comes to Airiana. Airiana has issues she needs to deal with and has vulnerabilities, but she has incredible inner strength and I loved seeing her come into action and fight by Maxim's side when he needed her to be strong. Max and Airiana are one hell of a pair, and they work in sync with each other, and even though Maxim is like all of the Prakenskii men-Alpha to the extreme, they also have tender soft spots for their women, and even though their lives are in danger Maxim lets Airiana fight with him and it creates a unique twist to the story. There is such a strong connection between Airiana and Maxim, and I loved every moment. One thing I have loved about this series, is that there is such a perfect balance in her plots, and you never feel unsettled and having a hard time catching up. In Air Bound there is a balance between plot, development of characters, steamy scenes, and those sweet romantic moments you just want to keep in your memory forever. We see a strong focus on the emotional connection between Maxim and Airiana, it makes the other more heated moments, even more sexy and powerful and intense.I will say that this book may be one of my top favorites from this author. It has such a splendid combination of heated sensuality, action packed scenes, characters to adore, and a plot to mesmerize you until the last page. EXPLOSIVELY BRILLIANT!

loved it. I fell in love with Maxim. My two disappointments is that Sophia died and the abuse the children went thru.

Airiana Ridell is an air element who sees patterns in the weather. She is living at Sea Haven with her sisters of the heart when suddenly she is kidnapped & rescued by Maxim Prakenskii. Christine Feehan has written several books along this theme, romance, danger & murder, the sisters & their mates using their talents to save them all. This book also covered some major issues like child trafficking, weapon trafficking, evil important men with no morals. It also has a sweetness of watching a man (Maxim) that was raised by a government for evil, finding a love that changed his life and opened him up for emotions of healing children and himself. Yes, there was a lot of murder in this story but I laughed out loud at Airiana several times so it was a mixture of emotions. I look forward to her next book in this series.

Maxim is my new favorite Prakenski. This is one of Christine's best books in the Sisters of the Heart series. A good plot with well written action and of course great romance between Arienne and Max.
I read the book several years ago but there is nothing better than a good audible narrator who brings life to the characters.

Read from May 27 to June 02, 2014Read/Listen for Fun (Kindle/Audible)Overall Rating: 4.25Story Rating: 4.25Character Rating: 4.25Audio Rating: 3.50 (Not part of the overall rating)First Thought when Finished: Air Bound by Christine Feehan was a wonderful addition to the Sisters of the Heart Series. I am very excited that everything/everyone is coming together!Story Thoughts: This is my favorite Sisters of the Heart book so far. The story was a great combination of action, overall story arc move forward, and romance. The kids both broke my heart and gave me hope. They were so brilliantly brave in a horrible situation. Also, the slow build between Airiana and Maxim was perfectly well done. I liked their connection in element first. This will be in my reread pile.Character Thoughts: I love Airiana! She was fierce, determined, knew her limitations, was willing to do whatever it took, and trusted her feelings. I am always cheering when someone just accepts what they know to be true. Took me a bit more to warm up to Maxim (as it should) but when I did, I swooned like my teenage self at a Bon Jovi concert. Together they were great!Audio Thoughts: Narrated By Phil Gigante / Length: 12 hrs and 38 mins I love Phil but with this series he is always hit/miss for me. This time I just don't think I could get into his voice for Airiana. He did Maxim fantastically but alas it just wasn't my favorite narration of his. However, I will keep on with this in audio because he pulls the brothers off wonderfully.Final Thoughts: Just found out it will be another year till the next one: counting down!

Excellent story! This is the best so far in the Sisters of the Heart series. So many threads are starting to come together, so that the earlier Drake Sisters' stories (at least Sarah, Elle, and possibly Joley's stories)have a much wider implication. This is Airiana's story. She is much like Damon Wilder (Sarah Drake's husband) - a genius who was put into a special government programme as a child where she worked on highly classified 'special projects'. After her mother was murdered just before her 17th birthday, Airiana refused to do any more work for the government and they finally let her go at age 20. Guilt over her mother's death has haunted her and led her to counselling, where she met the other 5 women with whom she now owns the farm in Sea Haven. Out of the blue she is kidnapped, by Maxim Prakenskii, who is undercover posing as one of Evan Shackler-Gratsos' men. Maxim has no intention of handing Airiana over and has plans to escape andtake her to her birth father, Theodotus Solovyov, the same man Gavriil Prakenskii nearly died for a few years back. Maxim is rough and ready, a hard man who doesn't believe there is any other life for him, especially if he wants to protect his brothers. But when Theodotus betrays him, and therefore Gavriil, he decides that he will take the risk of grabbing at a life with Airiana. There's a lot of death and dark themes in this book, but it all ties in with Elle's story. When they make it back to the farm, they warn Jonas that Evan Shackler-Gratsos will make another play for Airiana, and the Prakenskii brothers band together to fight off the threat. This book has set the scene for the future books - that will hopefully in the end tie up all the loose ends.I have a couple of issues with this book - once again the quality of the copy editing is pretty poor for such a well-published author, but at least this time the pace of the book was such that it was a mild distraction. My big issue is that we mever get to see the first meeting of the Prakenskii brothers! They haven't seen or spoken (according to earlier books) since they were taken away after their parents' murder, and yet there is no account of that first meeting! A huge oversight! She also says (in this book) that the brothers have a way to contact each other and that they did periodically to let each other know they were still alive. This contradicts everything she's said about the Prakenskii brothers to date! Sigh.Regardless, if you can overlook stuff like that, you'll love this book. I think the next one is going to be REALLY exciting. Can't wait to see who (which brother) Blythe is already married to - and hear an explanation of why he's not with her.

Our Review, by LITERAL ADDICTION's Vivacious Valkyrie - Marta:*Copy Gifted in Exchange for an Honest ReviewWell, this author has taken her readers back to Sea Haven with this her third book in the Sisters of the Heart series and it's a cracker full of non stop action. Fans of this author were probably bitterly disappointed when her series about the Drake sisters drew to a close but Ms Feehan has managed to find equally magical characters living within the towns limits! This book has been much anticipated and yet again readers are set for an enthralling ride.Airiana has finally found somewhere safe where she feels she belongs. Somehow fate has seen fit to grace her with the love of true friends who will always stand at her side. Airiana has tried to keep a low profile since her mother was brutally murdered and living in Sea Haven has finally given her a home. Airiana has an amazing gift which paints a target on her back but her friends will fight to protect her if that's what's needed and unfortunately that's what's about to happen!Maxim is one of the much feared Prakenskii brothers, trained from childhood to infiltrate and remove any target. His latest assignment takes him to Sea Haven where he helps kidnap Airiana but Maxim has his own agenda! Taking the troublesome and very stubborn Airiana far away from her home Maxim tries to convince her that he has her safety at heart but what if it's Airianas heart in danger? Airiana has never before met a man quite like Maxim but can she really trust him? He's dangerous and about to put Airiana through more trials then should be humanly possible but together they just might survive. I have been a fan of this author since I first discovered her Dark Carpathian series and love the suspense twist that she's putting on this newer series . I wasn't sure just how she could continue to bring fresh life to Sea Haven but have to admit these characters are just so interesting! Airiana whilst quiet and demure has a wicked sense of humour and her courage is astounding! Not all heroines are kick ass but when called for this strong woman makes a stand . As for the hero Maxim he's a bossy and arrogant type but it certainly works in this story. Emotionally scarred and alone he has had to rely solely on himself and trust does not come easy to him. Reading his journey from automaton to lover was heartwarming. Now I've mentioned the word lover so feel I should broach the sexual content. Ms Feehan always seems to write very sensual stories that can be quite explicit but in this book it feels as if the sex takes a back seat which really works very well. So often various authors play the virgin card and have them literally at it like rabbits and it just doesn't fit! The romance here builds up gradually as the actual plot is much more important (hurray) and indeed when the couple finally get physically close it's not exactly the usual fireworks! Do not misunderstand though there is plenty of heat in this book it's just that the story is chock full of action and really fast paced . There is just so much happening as the author picks up the sex trafficking storyline from previous books and runs with it. Caution though as it's not pleasant. So incredibly strong characters, a storyline that's very emotional , villains who deserve everything that's coming to them and you just know that there's more to come! If I have a gripe it's that it ends quite abruptly but that's just me, no matter how long a book I always want more!

Thoroughly enjoyed the story. Hard to stop listening. Wish they could have had a young woman read for Arrianna, but still good.
