Entertaining but too violent for a children’s book. Appropriate for kids 13 and older.

Very good book with excellent plot development and conflicts. It is one of the best series’s I’ve read. And to those who think the character development is inconsistent, I feel this is a more realistic way of showing development, especially for Rollan and Meilin. They have some very deep conflicts, and the characters are ever changing like a real person while being revealed to the truth. I feel like it is purposely written so the enemy is shrouded in mystery and slowly being revealed. I do understand why people think this series should be for people 13 year old or older because the battle scenes are a bit graphic, especially the one in the 4th book, though the 3rd book is also kind of graphic.
