I like this series, The Warriors of Poseidon, as one can tell by my rating of the earlier books. They are entertaining, have a good romance usually, and a good story that furthers the overall story. The problem with this addition to the series is that it wasn't up to the others.

It was just an OK and parts of it were outright maddening/bad. The two main characters lacked real chemistry and their love/trust of each other seemed forced and rushed. It was a very simplistic story line compared to the other books, trying to research and shut down the experimental laboratories.

These further complaints have some spoilers.

Tiernan, the heroine, is all ready to go into battle, yet when she is attacked and kills someone, she has a freakout. Then she whines over and over about killing, even when there are more pressing matters, and it was self-defense, and it was an "accident". Still she whines over and over about it. She gets in the way during the battle and is only a liability, argh.

Brennan, now here we really could get an interesting character but instead, self blame for something he was overly punished for. Tiernan points this out but it still gets harped on again and again. I understand vengeful God but... get mad, not self loathing for choices you didn't even make.

OK what made me truly not like this book was the non-ability to fight in situations, letting yourself get captured, and then not being able to break free, even when they are torturing your mate or himself. Then after being tortured, having her tortured, he suddenly has the ability to fight because she gets touched? Really? Then they get waylaid again, and he lets them take her, not for rape in front of him, but torture and death in the chair and he does nothing because??? He thinks they are not going to kill her? They already proved that death by a bullet would be preferable.

Oh, and the 2nd time caught, why didn't he just kill the guy and the vamp out-right. Because they were going to hurt Tiernan, they were going to do that anyway and already had. Also they are lost in the maze and just happen upon these 2 people? They weren't even looking for them and didn't know they were free, it was just dumb luck, and he couldn't do squat again? Argh!

Sorry this might have furthered the story slightly, especially for Daniel but it is not worth reading. I would skip it and go to the next one. Christophe's story, the next one, is great, GREAT. Read a synopsis of this one.

I got through it and didn't hate it altogether, I just didn't like it and there were definitely parts that I disliked greatly.

    Review:

Absolutely Fantastic! Hot, Sexy and all together Spicy!

I have been on a binge audiobook listening adventure with this series. Ms. Day just keeps the excitement, suspense and romantic tales of the Warriors of Poseidon fresh and more compelling as the series evolves. I don't know why I waited so long to read these.

"Atlantis Redeemed" is by far my favorite of the series so far. Always in the background and unassuming, Brennan is the warrior that the other turn to for calm reasoning. A calm wrought from centuries of enduring an unimaginable curse.

In the previous installments of the series Brennan's interaction with his fellow warriors has been stilted by his inability to display or feel any emotions. Yet, his monotone speech belies the depth of centuries of suppressed emotions.

I guess youthful indiscretions and general over-indulgence are not the behavior of one of Poseidon's chosen. Well I have to admit the whole curse thing is the aspect of the story-line that makes it a stand-out addition to the series. Ms. Days depiction of Brennan's emotional upheavals; the torment and anguish, love and lust, duty and honor throughout the course of the book are brilliant.

If you love your heroines sassy and courageous then look no further. Tiernan is a joy in a sea of testosterone. Ms. Day delivers another strong well rounded female counterpart. She's gutsy, stubborn and not afraid to go toe to toe with her man, Colin, Ven and even Alaric when it comes to Brennan's well being and safety.

Overall this book does not disappoint! There is laughter, sorrow, tears and joy to be experienced. Looking forward to "Atlantis Betrayed"

In this 5th installment of the Warriors of Poseidon series we're focused on Brennan and how he falls in love with Tiernan the reporter introduced in the passed book. I was excited to read about Brennan's story since he was cursed over two thousand years ago by Poseidon, losing all of his emotions until he set eyes on his one true mate. It was very interesting to see how he would handle all the emotions that came back to him when he came in contact with Tiernan. I loved the added intrigue with Tiernan's special powers and how it added to the progression of the plot. The plot in itself had me turning the pages to find out what was going to happen next and how Tiernan and Brennan was going to stop the crazed scientists in league with the vampires to enslave the world. Besides the great plot the underlining theme was about redemption and how far one would go to be with the one they loved? Would you stay with the person knowing that every time they were out of your sight they would forget you even existed? The story was filled with action and drama and with such a great set up in the plot I felt that resolution between Brennan and Tiernan as achieved a bit too quickly. I know that this is a romance and all will end well but I felt that the romance could have been pushed a bit more. All in all this was a great story will all the elements going for it action, romance, danger. This book is defiantly one of the best in the series and I look forward to reading what will happen to Atlantis and the warriors that protect it!!
