About this audiobook

2005 ECPA Retailer's Choice Award winner for best biography/autobiography!
Steve Saint was five years old when his father, missionary pilot Nate Saint, was speared to death by a primitive Ecuadorian tribe. In adulthood, Steve, having left Ecuador for a successful business career in the United States, never imagined making the jungle his home again. But when that same tribe asks him to help them, Steve, his wife, and their teenage children move back to the jungle. There, Steve learns long-buried secrets about his father's murder, confronts difficult choices, and finds himself caught between two worlds. Soon to be a major motion picture (January 2006), End of the Spear brilliantly chronicles the continuing story that first captured the world's attention in the bestselling book, Through Gates of Splendor.

I was overwhelmed by the beautiful discription of what God can do to redeem tradgerdy and bring hope, life, and salvation from it. Lives surrendered to God have a ripple effects that impact multiple others, bring them life and hope, and giving glory to God far beyond what we could hope or imagine. It is the hidden acts of obedience that God may use in unimaginable ways. The humble being lifted up as examples of His grace and love. I highly recommend this story of hope.

I was completely engaged by this story. I too believe that God uses all things for good, but the Saint family paints a vivid picture of that truth.

Such an amazing book. It encouraged me in my faith. I look forward to watching the movie for the second time. And I recently heard of dear Grandpa Mincaye’s death, whom by reading this book, I learned to love. I wish I could have met him and the many others who make part of this wonderful story. Thank you, Mr. Saint for writing the story God planned. This book has impacted me greatly.

Steve's father, Nate Saint, was killed by the Waudoni people in 1956. This is the storyof Steve going to live with the same people, at their invitation, for a year and a half (andhis family). Wonderful story, well told.

This is an excellent book. I have heard Elisabeth Elliott speak about her experiences, and really enjoyed the additional details of that story from another perspective. Then, the story continues. God’s work in all of their lives is so evident.

In addition to the story being captivating, it is well written and engaging. The narration is also well done. All around a good read and I will be recommending it to friends.

Hard to find an opening adjective to describe this book. I had been following the story of the missionaires that were speared to death and was aware that something wonderful had come of this tragedy. Steve Sant's book has helped me to get a glimpse of God's working in our world. Truly "His ways are not our ways" Don't miss the DVD.

I preferred the movie. This book is difficult to follow at times; the author jumps around a bit, past/present/future. If you can get past this and stick with it, it's an inspirational story and communicates God's amazing sovereignty.

Gripping, touching, one of the most intense reports of God's forgiveness and grace.
