Pinkalicious is about to start ballet with her friend Allison but things go awry quickly when she walks into the advanced classroom instead of beginners! This book is an okay addition to the Pinkalicious universe of early readers. Some of the ballet terms (e.g., barre, plie) are a little advanced for the youngest readers, but overall the book is appropriately challenging for children in the lower elementary grades. The illustrations are fairly basic but can be a little helpful for young readers trying to decipher the text. The thin plot doesn't do much for me; the book just seems to be an amalgamation of things little girls are "supposed" to like (e.g., pink, tutus, ballet) with little by way of story.
