About this audiobook
A sizzling story of a woman who risks her life and her heart to find a wealthy man’s missing sister—the first novel in a sexy new romantic suspense series from #1 New York Times bestselling author Maya Banks
When Caleb Devereaux's younger sister is kidnapped, this scion of a powerful and wealthy family turns to an unlikely source for help: a beautiful and sensitive woman with a gift for finding answers others cannot.
While Ramie can connect to victims and locate them by feeling their pain, her ability comes with a price. Every time she uses it, it costs her a piece of herself. Helping the infuriatingly attractive and impatient Caleb successfully find his sister nearly destroys her. Even though his sexual intensity draws her like a magnet, she needs to get as far away from him as she can.
Deeply remorseful for the pain he’s caused, Caleb is determined to make things right. But just when he thinks Ramie's vanished forever, she reappears. She’s in trouble and she needs his help. Now, Caleb will do risk everything to protect her—including his heart. . . .

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Keep Me Safe. - from more books like this one!! This was one of the most painful literary experiences of my life. This was awful on multiple levels! The narration was dead pan and only detracted from the story. I have read several books by Ms. BANKS and while some were better than others, this mess was unbearable. I have to wonder if it was a very early attempt or if she was suffering. from a severe bout of flu. the characters we're beyond wooden and one dimensional. There we're weak points and holes in the story large enough to drive an 18 wheeler through. Even at zero cost this novel was not worth the price. The best outcome would have been for the killer to successfully killer all the main characters and win a Power Ball lottery for having to put up with them before their deaths.

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5oh my. not sure what I was expecting but not that! the narrator was incredibly bad, and took away from the story which was not good in the first place, major plot problems, whiney characters and just no.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Good read!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5i loved it best book ever want to read more
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5The book was mostly romance and sexual. Very little mystery. In fact quite boring with the same sex scene over and over throughout the book. The person reading the book was an ok read, but I’ve heard better.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5to be honest I got frighten in the first few chapters and had to stop reading it. Hahaha I didn't expect rape to be in it. I got so scared I had to pause it. weeks after I tried again it got good and then right after the second time he met her he asked her out!!! What?? I was bewildered loll I stopped the book again and finally I've finished it. it was good sweet and irritating. the irritating part if for the criminal so annoying. good book. though lol
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5I agree : I was bewildered loll I stopped the book again and finally I've finished it. it was good sweet and irritating. the irritating part
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I liked the suspense of the thriller part, but the romance just wasn´t believable for me. Sometimes it´s like the action is just an excuse for them to have sex after - because nothing takes your mind of a traumatic experience like sex, right? Really liked the voice of the reader though and how he varied the voices. Nice to listen to!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Wonderful story! I loved Caleb and Ramey and their love for one another and how their relationship grows and they choose their love over any tragedy they face. I can't wait to read the next book.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Decent library loan book, though not very reslistic. The main character comes off as being very fragile although she has been on the run for her life for the past 18 months. I did not like the abrupt ending to the serial killer....very disapointing. Good love making scenes.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Enjoyed it. Love Maya Banks.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I'm a big Maya Banks fan...but this was not my favorite Maya Banks book. There are a couple of plot things late in the book that kind of ruined the book and the ending for me. I will still read other Maya Banks books as I generally enjoy her books a great deal.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5The story itself was okay. But the narrator was BRUTAL. He sounded like William Shatner Narrating a comic strip. Everything was so over done, and harsh. I will make sure I avoid listening to books narrated by this guy in the future.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The characters were believable and you can picture them in your mind. I couldn’t stop listening. Nice job!!!
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Terrible. Melodramatic to an absurd degree, dragging "plot," overwrought and repetitive descriptions of female characters' fragility.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5That one was laughably bad, but it was free so I'm not complaining!
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This was a bit melodramatic, for my taste, but I still enjoyed listening to it. Since I listened via blue-tooth headphones, while doing other work around the house, it didn't matter that the story was a little more on the sappy side than I usually prefer, since it only had part of my attention. Although there were times that I was left guessing, there were also many times that I found it was obvious what was going to happen next.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5bem sugestivo!
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5I haven’t read any of her other books and will certainly not rush to. This book was awful. The volatile relationship between Caleb and Remy is disturbing to read. He has sex with her at her most vulnerable. After he’s told her she’s being stupid and to ‘cut it out’ after she has a panic attack. He picks her up and carries her and ignores her requests to put her down. After the second time they have sex and she questions what she needs to do, wracked with uncertainty and confusion, Caleb tells her to shut up!
Seriously…no plot. Too much dialogue. Too much *unrealistic * dialogue. Too many demands by a powerful man claiming to want a woman who is vulnerable, powerless and friendless. WAY too many red flags going off here. And we wonder why so many people don’t understand the definitions of sexual assault when this kind of abuse is written in books as a seemingly beautiful man-woman relationship. Um…no. Just no. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Keep Me Safe is the beginning of the Slow Burn Series. I love psychic elements in romance books, so it was a given that I would like this book at least a little. This was a very intense story. More time probably should have been spent on those parts of the story that were so intense with less time spent on dialogue which repeated things that had already been said. Aside from those issues, this was a very interesting and well-written story. I'm anxious to read In His Keeping.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Listened for Fun (Audible)Overall Rating: 3.25Story Rating: 3.25Character Rating: 3.25Audio Rating: 4.00 (not part of the overall rating)NOTE: Keep Me Safe by Maya Banks was an excellent thriller but the romance really got in the way.I have put off writing this review because quite simply I didn't know how to say what I felt about the story. So I am going to make a list:1: The thriller part of the story was very strong! Even though the pacing was a bit off (more on that in number 2), the "case" was solid.2: The romance kept getting in the way. I hate to say that about a romance book but this one would have been stronger without it. It slowed the story down.My Biggest Problem:[ My biggest problem with Keep Me Safe was a scene that happened at the end of the book. Oddly enough if this was a Fringe thriller and that scene was there to prove the "reach" of the bad guy (he basically took over Caleb and made him almost kill her)---it would have worked. However, that scene was two-fold in that it was used to prove the reach/control of the bad guy and then BOOM we are at "I love you". This to me, was the biggest example of how the romance just did not work. Especially after what happened at the beginning of the book, the pacing and placement of "romance" just felt forced because it was supposed to be there. I felt if you wanted to solidify the romance, it should have been separated. (hide spoiler)]All of that being said, I like dark thrillers and this was solid on that front. Rating was hard: I liked the book (can ignore the romance) and gave it a 3. If I was rating it as a romance it would have been a 2 but I don't rate based on genre. However, for full disclosure that would have happened if I did.Audio Thoughts: Narrated By Jeffrey Kafer / Length: 7 hrs and 16 mins This was my first book narrated by Jeffrey Kafer and he was probably the reason it ended up with a 3 instead of a 2. He brought edge to the story and added emotion just where it was needed. I was really impressed! I will listen to him again!Final Thoughts: I will continue this series because honestly I want to see what happens!
