About this audiobook

What if you could ask God anything? What would you ask, and how would He answer?

Chelsea Chambers is on her own. After a public split from her NFL superstar husband, Chelsea takes a bold step out of the limelight and behind the counter of the Higher Grounds Café, an old-fashioned coffee shop in dire need of reinvention. But when her courage, expert planning, and out-of-this-world cupcakes fail to pay the bills, this newly single mom finds herself desperate for help. Better yet, a miracle.

Then a curious stranger lands on Chelsea’s doorstep, and with him, an even more curious string of events. Soon, customers are flocking to the Higher Grounds Café, and not just for the cupcakes and cappuccino. They’ve come for the internet connection to the divine. Now the café has become the go-to place for people in search of answers to life’s biggest questions.

When a catastrophe strikes and her ex comes calling, Chelsea begins to wonder if the whole universe is conspiring against her quest to make it on her own. After a shocking discovery opens her eyes to the unseen world around her, Chelsea finds the courage to ask God a question of her own—and heaven answers in a most unexpected way.

This book is astounding! My soul has been shaken up, turned upside-down, and completely refreshed after reading this wonderful book. The perspective you are given on angels that are fighting for us every second of every day is mind-blowing! Marriages, people, relationships are healed all through this book. But the wonderful thing is, that doesn't have to be fiction, that can happen in your life if you have faith and believe in God. I am living proof of that, and I hope that you are too. This book shows us the glorious battle that takes place every day for each and every one of us. We don't know what we'll face or how we'll get through it, but with God, nothing is impossible! I ask that you read this book, because afterwards you won't be the same!

I try to get my hands on anything written by max Lucado. I collect all of his journals and have all of his books, Just like Jesus, Six Hours One Friday, etc. I admire Max very much, and I love pretty much everything he writes.
This was a first for me along with many others to read something fiction by him, and what a wonderful read it was for sure.
Miracle at the Higher Grounds Cafe is a story about a woman who inherits a coffee shop. The coffee shop becomes a place where people can have one prayer request answered by God. Now just imagine this being for real, what would you ask for? In addition, remember you only get to ask one time.
I love how this book sends many powerful messages that you do not really realize that you are getting because it is a work of fiction, but with many true messages inside this wonderful book.
I recommend this book to everyone, weather you believe in God or not you will not be disappointed in this book at all. It is a great work of fiction by Max. I would love to see more fiction books by Max personally, along with those hidden messages inside.

I received this book free from Zondervan part of the BookLook Bloggers program, for my honest and un-biased opinion.

Typical Max Lucado, sickly sweet, over the top, and sure to draw thousands of readers. A God Blog, a coffee shop, and a broken family are all about to intersect. Chelsea separates from her husband after his infidelity, takes their two children, and reopens her family's coffee shop, The Higher Grounds Cafe. Things aren't smooth sailing though; with hardly any customers she can barely keep the shop open. And to top it off the IRS hands her a bill totaling $80,000+. Chelsea needs a break. Little does she know that God has sent her guardian angel down to watch over her. Manny comes in disguise, he makes himself invaluable to her cafe as a barista and cares for her and her family. When a mysterious blog becomes associated with her cafe claiming that God will answer ONE question per person, she along with everyone else, is skeptical. But her business booms as people trek to her shop to ask God their one question and the answers seem so heartfelt and genuine? Is God really looking out for her and her family, can she save her marriage, and can she find God again? Fans of inspirational fiction and Max Lucado will be clamoring for more.I received this book for free from Litfuse Publicity in return for my honest, unbiased opinion.

I confess that I have never read any of Max Lucado’s non-fiction books. I am a fiction gal and find it hard to get into most non-fiction. But when I saw that he had written his first novel, I just had to read it. Miracle at The Higher Grounds Cafe captured me from the beginning. Wonderful characters and a great setting add to this inspiring tale. This book is great for any fans of Max Lucado or for anyone who needs a little encouragement and hope that God is really listening.Chelsea Chambers and her children have moved back to her hometown of San Antonio, Texas following her separation from NFL star, Sawyer. Reopening her mother’s cafe is challenging enough with her family changes, but a whopping tax bill puts Chelsea into panic mode. With some angelic help, Chelsea finds her faith and forgiveness.Lightly written with plenty of chuckle-inducing moments, Miracle at The Higher Grounds Cafe still packs a punch on the spiritual front. Spiritual themes of forgiveness, the personhood of God and prayer are skillfully interwoven. A clever device is used to show how God wants to have personal relationships with his creation. Lucado also emphasizes that once prayers are sent up, they linger like a heavenly aroma. The book also gives a glimpse at how things on earth must look from the spiritual realm. I especially loved the scene where the angels are rejoicing when a character accepts the gift of salvation. Fun characters, inventive plot devices and mouth-watering cupcake creations are icing on the cake (pardon the pun!). Miracle at The Higher Grounds Cafe is definitely a must-read.Highly Recommended.Audience: older teens and adults. To purchase this book click HERE.(Thanks to LitFuse and Thomas Nelson for a review copy.
