About this audiobook

Nicola Price used to have it all-a great career, the perfect boyfriend, an excessive shoe collection, and an apartment in one of San Francisco's best neighborhoods. But when she gets knocked up and her asshat boyfriend leaves her high and dry, Nicola's perfectly crafted world comes tumbling down.
Now, Nicola is the proud single mother of a five-year-old daughter and living a giant lie. She can barely afford their ghetto apartment, and all the men she dates run when they hear that she comes with a child. She's struggling and scared-and nowhere near where she thought she'd be at age thirty-one.

Nicola's saving grace comes in the form of tall, handsome, and wealthy Scotsman Bram McGregor, the older brother of her friend Linden. Bram understands a thing or two about pride, so when tragic circumstances place Nicola at rock bottom, he offers them a place to live in the apartment complex he owns. But nothing in life is free, and as Nicola gets her feet back on the ground, she discovers that the enigmatic playboy may end up costing her more than she thought. She might just lose her heart.Contains mature themes.

More like 3.5 I enjoyed this! The audiobook is amazing, but I hate the “twist”, one of my pet peeves.

This book is one of those sweet stories I don't mind reading after I have read so many emotional books. It soothed my racing heart after so many books previous have had it racing and jumping out of my chest.

Don't get me wrong, this book is a little emotional, but it isn't one of those rip your heart out books. It's sweet. It's full of want and lust. It's the perfect combination of every thing a love story should have.

I liked Nicola. She is a single parent who always puts her child first. She is willing to do whatever it takes to keep a roof over his daughter's head. Even taking up Bram on his offer to live rent free in one of his apartments. She is lonely and sassy. The perfect combination for this story.

Bram isn't so bad himself. He is the typical playboy, but yet not so typical playboy. His character has just the right amount of cockiness and sweetness that he is a believable and likable character. His mission to not just help Nicola in a bad situation, but to also put a real smile on her face makes him a very lovable character.

I wasn't sure how I would like this story. I am not a fan of HEA's, usually. I know, I am a jerk, but I like what I like. However, the events in this story, along with the ending, are perfect for this story. I definitely didn't want a cliffhanger in this one. It just wouldn't have fit. The story moves so fluidly and quickly. It's one of those that you can sit and read in one sitting when you have the free time. I highly suggest that you do. Definitely a great read for all of you romance lovers!
