Quite an intriguing, and enjoyable book. The storyline was well-detailing works of these professionals that show the life and work of the firefighters that help and protect the public. It gives one insight into their lives and losses they experience during their job. But in the long run, the aspects of their lives must cover their emotional pain and suffering that comes with the job they perform on a day-to-day basis. Also, it is painful to realize that one of their own has been responsible for most of the fire. He was also of the view that someone has been responsible for the accident that took his parents. But in reality, it is just an innocent accident that took place although he loses his parent notwithstanding the other kids did also suffered the same fortune. She was able to pick up her life and move further. But he instead finds a way to learn to kill and become good at that living a twisted life of a killer. Thank God that he was caught up in his wickedness and it was that which brought him to his demise.

Wow! I loved this book! I am always hard-pressed to find clean-by-my-standards-of-clean suspensemysteries, so I was very excited when my sister recommended this to me!

The O'Malley family is a very unorthodox, but very sweet family! I love their close-knit and caring relationship. It actually reminded me a lot of my family. Jack was a phenomenal character, and my favorite of all the siblings, I think. I really enjoyed reading his story.

The plotmystery was well thought out and very suspenseful. It left me guessing numerous times! (And I'm usually pretty good at guessing the culprit. ;) It was a shocker when I finally got the end climax scene!

CONTENT NOTE: I don't remember there being much in the way of questionable material . . . there is romance, but it is very sweet and wholesome. He does visit her apartment quite frequently and they are often alone, but he is very respectful, and never pushy, and nothing intimate ever happens. There is violence and a few deaths, but for the most part, it was very non-descript. I think that's all . . . I haven't read it in awhile, so I could be missing something. :P

All in all, a very good book! Definitely something I would read over and over again! I read it in literally 24 hours, if that tells you how good it was! One thing I really liked about it was that I could just pick this up, and understand it, even though it was in the middle of a series. Highly recommended!

Started with a bang! Could hardly put it down. Then it started dragging and introducing what seemed to be too many characters at once. It became a bit confusing to me, cumbersome and a bit disconnected. It didn't finish with the same fervor with which it started.

A group of orphans get together and form a family. They pick the last name O'Malley. This series follows their stories. This book, the first in the series, showcases Kate O'Malley, a specialist in hostage negotiations and her evolving relationship both with God and with FBI special agent Dave Richman.

Good book. I liked the character development and the continuation of a good series. Fun and fast to read.
